Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad reiterate ‘resistance’ mission on Nakba Day

In 2003, the Manifesto of the Islamic Jihad in Palestine “was uncovered by U.S. investigators amid the arrest of the group’s North American head Sami al-Arian.” In addition to smearing Israel as “terrorist,” the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) manifesto states that “the Jihad solution and the martyrdom style as the only choice for liberation” and refuses to consider “any peaceful solution to the Palestinian cause.”

PIJ is fully dedicated to Israel’s destruction as an Islamic religious mission of “martyrdom,” which is the highest calling in Islam (cf. Sahih Muslim 20:4655 and Sahih al-Bukhari 2797). This mission is packaged as a “resistance” and/or the “Palestinian cause” for propaganda purposes.

Hamas also stated:

Any talk of disarming it (the resistance in Palestine) while the occupation and its criminality remain is considered collusion with the enemy’s agendas to impose its control, perpetuate its aggression, and erase the essence of our just cause.

The Hamas Charter states:

“Israel will exist and will continue to exist until Islam will obliterate it, just as it obliterated others before it” (The Martyr, Imam Hassan al-Banna, of blessed memory).

“The Islamic world is on fire. Each of us should pour some water, no matter how little, to extinguish whatever one can without waiting for the others.” (Sheikh Amjad al-Zahawi, of blessed memory)….

Arab countries surrounding Israel are asked to open their borders before the fighters from among the Arab and Islamic nations so that they could consolidate their efforts with those of their Moslem brethren in Palestine…

Israel is the only non-Muslim country in the Middle East. There is no compromising or negotiating with Hamas, PIJ or any jihad group. There is nothing Israel could possibly do that could steer these groups away from their determination to destroy the Jewish State. They’ve tried repeatedly to annihilate the Jewish state, but Israel fought back, and now they’re using Israel’s defensive war against their jihad to generate more propaganda.

Every group and organization associated with Hamas, and those that funnel or have funneled money to Hamas, share its vision of the destruction of Israel. One also needs to remember that although Hamas and PIJ are urging the international community to “alienate” Israel, both groups view the infidel international community as enemies also. But it is expedient for them to isolate Israel first. As the adage goes: First the Saturday people, then the Sunday people.

The two Palestinian resistance movements reaffirmed their adherence to resistance and urged the international community to stop the Israeli regime’s “terrorism’ which poses a “real threat” to the security and stability of the region and the world.

The statement was issued on Friday on the 78th anniversary of Nakba (Catastrophe) day, which marks the mass displacement of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians from their homes when the Israeli regime was established in 1948.

“On the 78th anniversary of the Nakba: There is no legitimacy or sovereignty for the occupation over the land of Palestine, no matter how much time passes and how great the sacrifices,” Hamas said.

The movement urged the world to “criminalize the occupation and work to stop its terrorism against our land, our people, and our sanctities, and to empower our people with their legitimate rights and the establishment of their independent state with al-Quds as its capital.”

Referring to “heinous” Israeli massacres and crimes committed over the past decades, including the genocidal war in Gaza, the movement noted that “the fascist occupation government continues to blatantly and deliberately violate the ceasefire agreement through systematic bombing and direct targeting of civilians,” leaving more than 850 Gazans killed since the agreement went into effect last October.

The group described the ceasefire violations as an “exposed attempt to escalate pressure and blackmail and impose a fait accompli that the enemy has failed to achieve” during the war.

The movement hailed the Palestinian people’s steadfastness, noting that Israel’s crimes have failed to undermine their determination to resist and liberate their land….
