No Western country should have any obligation to repatriate dangerous enemies of their own countries. The obligation of politicians is to protect national security first.
Also, the media reference to coming “home” when speaking of the Western countries that jihadists willingly left to violently fight disbelievers in the name of Islam is a misnomer. These jihadists only seek to return to their so-called “homes,” such as Canada in this case, as an option for a better, more comfortable life for themselves and families since the Islamic State (ISIS) was defeated. Otherwise, they would be still in Syria or somewhere else in the Middle East, and likely committing the worst human rights atrocities against innocent non-Muslims.
Jihadists pose an extreme danger to the West. They themselves do not view disbelieving lands as “home.” They view them as enemy territories to be conquered and brought under the rule of a global Islamic caliphate. Hence, in Islam, a disbelieving country is deemed part of the dar al-harb (house of war), which in their view must be subjugated and brought under the rule of Sharia as part of the dar al-Islam (house of Islam).
In 2018, British ISIS fighters were being hanged in Iraq; a judge stated of these death sentences: “We’re protecting Britain.”
Jihadists zealously wage war against infidels in the name of Islam, and they intend to continue their mission if they return to Western countries. Some authorities in Canada are finally recognizing this fact. Let’s hope greater efforts are made to keep jihadists out of Canada and other Western countries.
Unfortunately, however, Canada is still lax regarding the Islamic Republic of Iran, thus putting the Canadian people in danger.
“A Montreal man is wanted by the RCMP for terrorism, but Canada won’t take him back,” by Stewart Bell and Touria Izri, Global News, May 19, 2026:
Wassim Boughadou is wanted by the RCMP for terrorism. He insists he is “absolutely” willing to fly home from Turkey to surrender to police.
But the Montreal-born 34-year-old claims he can’t because Global Affairs Canada won’t let him.
“I am in a limbo,” he wrote in a text message, part of a cache of documents obtained by Global News that have gone unreported until now.
The RCMP and Global Affairs Canada would not comment on Boughadou. His Ottawa lawyer also declined to comment.
The case, however, is detailed in hundreds of pages of court records that show how Ottawa is struggling to deal with Canadian citizens captured abroad during the Syrian conflict.
Canadians in Syria, Iraq and Turkey have asked the courts to order the government to repatriate them. Intelligence officials warn that some of them are national security threats.
The debate over whether to bring them back or leave them overseas has left a growing list of Canadians wanted for terrorism — but not so badly that the government has helped them come home.
According to an appeal Boughadou filed in the Federal Court, he was arrested in Turkey in 2017 and imprisoned for being a member of a terrorist organization.
He claims he was forced to sign a statement that said he was part of the Islamic State, but denied he was in the group, although he said his wife was.
Once he completed his sentence in March 2024, Turkey ordered his deportation and he bought a seat on a flight from Istanbul to Montreal that was to arrive on May 15 of that year….

Canada is pretty much an Islamic shit hole like the UK and the rest of Europe.

How likely is it that a Muslim’s wife would be in a terrorist organisation without her husband’s full knowledge and co-operation?

Canada won’t take back Islamic State jihadist wanted by Royal Canadian Mounted Police

Is this to protect Canadians–or to protect Jihad terrorists from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police?
