PHOENIX (AZFamily/Gray News) – A teen convicted of planning an ISIS-inspired terror attack on an Arizona pride parade will spend just under two years in prison, a judge ruled.
Marvin Aneer Jalo was 17 when he was arrested in October 2024 at the start of Phoenix LGBTQ+ Pride festivities. Authorities said he planned to use an explosive drone during the parade, scheduled for two days after his arrest.
Jalo, now 18, pleaded guilty April 3, 2026, to two counts of terroristic threats. He was sentenced April 29 to 1.75 years in prison, with credit for 599 days served.
When Jalo was arrested, he was originally charged as an adult with felony terrorism and conspiracy.
Investigators said he used chat rooms in 2023 with people he described as extremists. At one point, authorities said he posted that they could “bomb 2024 Pride Parade and take over USA.”
He was also accused of ordering chemicals needed to make an explosive through Amazon….

If this is in Arizona, incarcerate him in the middle of the desert, w/ no airconditioning, and let his health deteriorate until he dies of a heatstroke. Then when he’s near his end, contaminate either his food or drink w/ fentanyl

Attempts at mass murder should result in the death penalty, if carried out, successful or not. No Islamic nation, self-claimed “Caliphate”, or terrorist group would give only prison sentences for the same directed at them. When the Iranian Regime hangs someone, they don’t hesitate or wring hands that it might be considered a wanted martyrdom.
Islamists think we are stupid for our lax laws in the West that allow ripoff of social services and the social security system with but a slap after stealing millions by each organized “business”. And they are right – in their former “homelands” they couldn’t have that access to the nation’s wealth and punishments for stealing less were swift and harsh.

I’ve often thought that attempted murder which would result in death except for extraordinary circumstances, should be dealt with the same as murder. It is the intent to murder the same as when the criminal is successful. Just because the victim survives, doesn’t mean the perp is less guilty than the perp who succeeds.
Mass-murder or attempted mass-murder has the same intent, but if the victims manage to survive, shouldn’t absolve the murderer from full payment for his crimes.

He should have definitely gotten a tougher sentence for attempting mass murder. Plus if he is NOT a natural citizen he should be deported so WE the TAX PAYERS are NOT supporting him, only to be turned out to do something like this again. We need judges that put the victims first and punish these murdering criminals to the max.
