Turkey’s directorate of religious affairs (Diyanet) said in January 2018 that under Islamic law, girls as young as nine can marry.

The Taliban has introduced a new family law with no minimum age for marriage, prompting warnings from rights groups that the rules risk normalising child weddings in Afghanistan.
UN Women’s special representative in Afghanistan, Susan Ferguson, said the new legislation represented ‘another serious development’ in the erosion of women’s rights nearly five years after the group returned to power.
The agency warned the rules failed to establish a minimum age for marriage and mark a departure from laws in force before the Taliban takeover in August 2021, when Afghanistan criminalised forced child marriage.
‘By implying that child marriage is permitted, it risks normalising the practice,’ Ferguson said.
According to UN Women, the new regulation instead describes procedures through which a marriage involving a child could be annulled after the individual reaches puberty….
Significant attention is given to the section on ‘khiyar al-bulugh’ (‘option upon puberty’), an Islamic legal provision that allows for the annulment of a marriage contracted during childhood once the person reaches puberty.
According to Article 5, if a child’s marriage is arranged by relatives other than their father or grandfather, it is legally valid provided the spouse is socially compatible and the dowry is appropriate.
The regulation states that the child may later seek annulment after reaching puberty, but only through a court order, according to independent Afghan outlet Amu TV….
The regulation also gives Taliban judges broad powers to intervene in marital disputes regarding issues such as apostasy, ‘turning away from Islam’, prolonged absence of a husband and accusations of adultery….

To be fair, Muhammad marrying a 6-year old Aisha by no means indicated to his followers that that was the minimum age a girl could “marry”. It’s why Afghanistan and Turkey don’t have it
Yeah, a lot of non-islamic societies had child marriage, but when it became recognized as problematic, they grew out of it. Not mohammedans

The tragic and horrible reality is the Taiban have made it the law of the land ,in Afghanistan, for Muslim adult males to force little girls. ,no matter how young they happened to be ,For this is vile and heinous is now legal because its based on Islam’s Sharia .

Furthermore, a scholar on Islam, Brigitte Gabriel, in her book, which is entitled “They Must Be Stopped” which on pages 171, that exposes that “Control of behavior and disregard for human life are key elements in Islamic ideology.” Very obviously, this control extends even to the evilest Islamic extent of control over little girls

Muslims know there is no age limit for girls, many of them think it is wrong to implement what allah says, but they bury their heads in the sand. So they are complicit to any crime of child marriage. Same case for those non muslims who know but are supporting Islam.
