It was only a matter of time. The Houthis should have been dealt with during the Biden administration when they were tying up Red Sea shipments and creating a nightmare for the world economy. But Biden was weak and a global laughing stock. Now, the Trump administration is left to deal with the fallout. Days ago, I pointed out on Jihad Watch that the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait is a vital chokepoint for global oil and maritime traffic. Some 10 to 15% of international trade passes through this route. Should the Houthis decide to tie up shipping traffic, which they likely would, shipping vessels would be forced to reroute. Greater global shipping costs will result, and that will translate into economic woes globally. The Houthis should not be underestimated. They are a zealous force to reckon with. In 2024, the Yemeni government warned of a Houthi threat to the “world’s digital infrastructure.”
Jordan News reported more about what senior Houthi leader Hussein al-Ezzi actually stated:
If Sana’a decides to close Bab al-Mandab, “all of mankind and jinn together would be utterly incapable of reopening it.”
Typical Islamic supremacist bluster. Aggressive jihadists such as the Iranian Islamic regime and its proxies can only be dealt with in one way: neutralizing their capabilities, the way the US and Israel have been doing against Iran. The more jihadists are appeased, the more aggressive they become.
“Yemen’s Houthis threaten closure of Bab al-Mandeb Strait,” CGTN News, April 19, 2026:
Yemen’s Houthi group warned on Saturday that the strategic Bab al-Mandeb Strait could be closed.
Houthi official Hussein al-Ezzi made the remarks in a post on X, noting the possibility of measures that would affect one of the world’s most critical maritime routes.
“If Sanaa makes the decision to close the Bab al-Mandeb, no force would be able to reopen it,” he said.
The Bab al-Mandeb Strait, located between Yemen and the Horn of Africa, is a vital shipping corridor connecting the Red Sea to the Gulf of Aden and the Indian Ocean. A significant portion of global trade, including energy supplies, passes through the narrow waterway.
The Houthi official urged Washington and its allies to “end all actions and policies that stand in the way of peace” and to respect what he described as the legitimate rights of the Yemeni people.…

Muslims will boast and deceive against Non-Muslims to impose Islamic Law and gain ultimate power and control as taught in Islam’s Qur’an. Allah commands Muslims to fight Non-Muslims to establish Islamic Law, Sharia, so that Islam reigns supreme. Allah in Qur’an 9:29 commands, “Engage in war with those who do not believe in Allah nor in the last day[Non-Muslims]. Nor forbid what Allah and his messenger forbid[in Islamic Law], nor believe in the religion of the truth[Islam] among those who have given the book[Jews and Christians] until they pay the jizyah[Extortion Payment] out of hand and they are subdued[disgraced].”

First ,President Trump well understands that bombings the Muslims terrorists of Houthis is the only way to send those Islamic savages in the only language that they are able to understand.
As Thomas Jefferson had, rightly, declared, “With every barbarous people…force is law.”
Second, the Houthis are nothing but stooges of that “mullah regime” of Iran.
For that hostile and vicious Islamic regime of Iran has the vast amount of money to fund, support and supply its proxy jihad terror/murder “organizations,” as the Houthis, Hamas and Hezbollah to use to as its tools to achieve its schemed Islamic agenda.
The Jihadists of those three Islamic terror/murder entities have no idea, at all ,that they are only the useful idiots of those in power in Iran and sit home safe when all the death dealing violent warfare is occurring.
Walter Sieruk says
The dangerous and murderous jihad terror entities Houthis, Hamas and Hezbollah are all made from the same cloth. Which is the fabric that is the religion of Islam.

Closing the Bab al-Mandeb Strait s effectively the same as closing the Suez Canal.
࿗Infidel࿘ says
Pretty much. Anything Egypt does w/ its neighbors is pretty much across the Red Sea
There is a long term solution to this so that neither Hormuz nor Bab el Mandab remains a choke point. The Saudis could build pipelines to Muscat, Oman, from where oil could be loaded on tankers and sent to Asia, taking care of China, India, Australia and other Indo-Pacific countries. As well as countries in Africa – South Africa, Madagascar, Kenya, et al. In the meantime, the Saudis do have a Red Sea port which they can use to ship oil across the Suez to Europe and the Americas
The other countries like Iraq, Bahrein, Qatar, Kuwait, et al would have to link to these Saudi pipelines if they too want to bypass these points

A better solution is to open ANWAR to drilling. And crank up the Venezuelan oil rigs. Stop relying on Muslim nut jobs for world oil supply. Then the Muslims would reopen those waterways and beg folks to buy oil from them again.
࿗Infidel࿘ says
I thought that ANWR has been re-opened to drilling. This happened on day 1, when all but one EO that Biden signed was repealed by Trump (the exception being one about making the government IPv6 only as far as their internet connectivity goes)
Also, once the islamic regime occupying Iran falls, then Iran will become a secular country, since most Iranians are secret or openly apostates. Then infidel countries can happily start buying oil from them and help restore their economy
