Qur’an 2:190 says: “Fight for the sake of Allah against those who fight against you, but do not transgress. Indeed, Allah does not love transgressors.”
This passage is often invoked today to show that jihad can only be defensive. Unfortunately, however, the words “do not transgress,” which Mohammed Marmaduke Pickthall translates as “begin not hostilities” and that Islamic apologists often invoke today to show that jihad can only be defensive, don’t necessarily mean what many Westerners assume or hope they mean. The Islamic apologist and Qur’an scholar Muhammad Asad enunciates a common view, and a quite popular one in the Western world, when he says that “this and the following verses lay down unequivocally that only self-defence (in the widest sense of the word) makes war permissible for Muslims.” However, the Tafsir al-Jalalayn says that this verse “was abrogated by Surat at-Tawba [sura 9, which contains numerous exhortations to jihad warfare] or by Allah’s words in the following ayat,” which is one of the Qur’an’s four exhortations to “kill them wherever you find them” (the others are at 4:89, 4:91 and 9:5).

I don’t know what happened to him but I still think he is a good person. Our own government, I believe, have abused him, he gets many threats, he was suppose to get his own television show but has been stopped from even doing that. I believe he has had a bad life now for many years and it has affected him like it also would affect other people also. It is our own government who lets the terrorists into our country, who gives them loads of money and everything they want and our own government shows they do not care about us.

I must disagree with you for once, Infidel. A few months before his firing from Fox, I noticed that TC began to resort to half truths in order to foment alarm. He reported, for example, that we only had forty days’ worth of diesel fuel in reserve. While technically true, he neglected to say that this was actually normal, even before Biden wrecked domestic energy production, as storage facilities could only hold about that amount of fuel. More diesel is produced continually, as needed, and there was never a critical shortage. Then there was his intentional misreporting of events in Ukraine, where Carlson accused Zelenskyy of closing churches, thereby suppressing Christianity. No explanation was given for this action, with the expectation that the viewing audience would interpret this to mean that Zelenskyy, a nominal Jew, was using his authority to persecute Ukraine’s Christian majority. Qatarson failed to report that the churches in question were Russian Orthodox, on the Russian border, and avowedly pro-Putin, which made them a security risk. Then there was his embrace of that retired military officer, MacGregor, who predicted cataclysmic consequences if the U S. took any robust action against our adversaries, and whose veiled antisemitism was not lost on me. Good riddance to that cackling lunatic, Qatarlson.
