He however would have done well to mention a few things:
⮞ There is no such thing as “islamism” or “islamist”. Best illustration of that is the fact that those words have no equivalents in muslim languages (Arabic, Urdu, Turkish…) that are different from “islam” or “muslim”.
⮞ Those words were invented in the West after 9/11/2001 to pretend that there is a difference b/w islam and whatever Osama, Khamenei, Hassan Nasrallah, Sheikh Ahmad Yassin (founder of Hamas) and other jihadists were preaching
⮞ A better word to describe an “islamist” would be a “jihadist” or “jihadi”, and the latter 2 words are specific for muslims who believe in waging jihad, as opposed to just cheering for it from the sidelines
There needs to be an end to the “I-love-muslims-but-hate-islam” or other tiptoeing around this issue. And the debate needs to be had – does islam deserve the sort of protections in the West that communism doesn’t have?

Actually, Islam is a relgion by *our* definition of religion. Too many people demand that we change our dictionaries, our laws, and our values for Muslims. I disagree that this is a good idea. We have truth on our side–we don’t *have* to change our definitions to take a stand against Islam. Our ancesters did not, and things have not actually changed since then that we have to change our language for them.
And if you know that changing the definition of “man” and “woman” are bad ideas–as they are–why demand that we change the definition of religion for Islam?

I have great respect for Tommy Robinson, but he is not a linguist. And I dubt he meant that Muslims do not worship Muhammed and the foul deity “Allah”, but just that Islam is *also* a political system.
If a religion worshipped the Volcano god, and demanded the sacrifice of virgins to this deity we would–if we were sane–allow the former and enforce laws against the latter.
