“Awesome”
There’s a small book to be written about Sen. Chris Murphy’s flirtation with Iran and Islamic terrorists. But he’s not even trying to hide it anymore.
Democratic Connecticut Sen. Chris Murphy is under fire after a one-word social media post fueled accusations he was a “traitor” cheering against the United States amid the war in Iran.
“Awesome,” Murphy wrote on X in response to a post reporting that 26 ships in Iran’s shadow fleet have made it past the US blockade in the Gulf of Oman.
According to Sen. Murphy, he was being ‘sarcastic’.

Was he also being sarcastic when he undermined the Trump administration during its first term by meeting with Iranian regime officials?
Sen. Chris Murphy on Tuesday defended his meeting with Iran’s foreign minister, while President Donald Trump accused the Connecticut Democrat of violating a law that bars U.S. citizens from conducting unauthorized negotiations with nations that have disputes with the United States.
Murphy led a delegation of Democrats to meet with Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif during the Munich Security Conference last Saturday.
Murphy’s history doesn’t make this seem like sarcasm, but yet one more act of treason.

Even assuming it was only sarcasm, and I personally think this POS is lying about this to cover his tracks, it’s still a loathsome, anti-American and stupid statement by a sitting Senator.
Connecticut, a state I know fairly well and have travelled throughout, has many beautiful places and quite a heritage but it is ill served by its two Senators, Murphy and Blumenthal, the latter doing something even worse than what Murphy just did and that is he lied about service in Vietnam. Just about the lowest any person can go is to claim military presence in a theatre of war when there was no such presence. Blumenthal did this and yet the people of Connecticut still elected him to the Senate. Well, Connecticut has many wonderful places and has played a major role in American history from colonial times onwards but it comes up short in our time with respect to how many wonderful people it has. The fact that detritus like Murphy and Blumenthal are Connecticut’s two Senators serves as ipso facto proof of this assertion, of this condemnation.

Wellington, I have never been to CT. However, in school when the class had to research a state and write about it, by the time the teacher got to me, all of the states (including my own) I knew anything about had been chosen. CT was left and I took it.
My report would be much different today, I’m afraid.
I wonder when people “go to the polls” are they even thinking about the consequences of what they are about to do?
Wellington says
I have been to every part of Connecticut, somehistory, to a 100 or more of its 169 towns, 21 of which are officially cities. It has much natural and man-made beauty. Its most picturesque towns like Salisbury, Sharon, Greenwich, Essex and Old Saybrook are as charming as a municipality gets anywhere in America. Yes, it has its ugly spots as does every state but overall it is a state I have liked ever since I first visited it over half a century ago.
But it is now badly served by the majority of its own people and especially by most of those elected to represent it in DC. And frankly, once the people of Connecticut elected Richard Blumenthal Senator even after it was revealed he lied about his service in Vietnam, I knew a page had been turned which did not redound to the credit of this small but once great state. For example, of the 13 colonial governors who were presiding in 1775 when the Revolutionary War broke out, only 1 of these 13 went with the Patriots over the Loyalists. That one was Jonathan Trumbull of Connecticut but those kind of days now seem to be over in that state.
Oh yeah, I agree with you. Your report on Connecticut would be much different today. What a damn shame. Connecticut in our era is one of those ten or twelve states which now only serve as a drag on America. The fact that Murphy and Blumenthal are its Senators is clear evidence of this.

Thank you, Wellington, for your informed reply. I wasn’t aware of the Vietnam claim, but from what I had seen of the guy, I never liked him. Just something seemed fake, more so than the *usual* politician persona.
Many people just do not appreciate the good things.

Thank you for your information, it is nice to know what Americans are voting for. I wonder how long America will last with all these crazy people being elected.

Wellington,
All true.
Murphy: Traitor. No normal person would use “sarcasm” against the United States when they are involved in a war with Iran.
Blumenthal: Stolen valor. Despicable.

I am old enough to remember a certain valor thieving Naval officer who became a senator and secretary of state…. Who was ordered NOT to meet with NVA officials . He then wore his Naval uniform and acted as an official government representative with the NVA in Paris France and undermined the peace negotiations.
He even “threw away medals”… That belonged to someone else.
He “testified” before the US Senate about “war crimes his fellow soldiers committed” in Vietnam… After he cut himself and awarded himself purple heart and wrote his own citation for a silver star….( No one else in military has ever been able to write their OWN citation awards and especially for bravery…
Now this asshat tries to HIDE BEHIND the claim of sarcasm… This is typical of Democrats.

There is a reason why we have a State department. It is to handle foreign affairs.
Congress has no authority under COTUS to travel to another country and do foreign affairs.
They are violating the Constitution.
Remember John Kerry wore his Naval uniform and met with NVA in Paris after he was ordered not to. He did it anyways. He was never punished. Instead he became a darling of the Democrat party.
Need a new law. All congresscritters who travel to another country must pay out of their own pockets.
