Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, known for his anti-Israel animus and his pro-immigrant views, intends to provide mass amnesty to 500,000 illegal immigrants now in his country, allowing them not just to remain, but to be able to receive welfare benefits from the state and eventually, to become citizens. The vast majority of Spaniards oppose his plan; among those 17 to 25 years old, more than 80% want to stop it. Sánchez doesn’t care what the people want; he’s forging ahead. More on his plan, and the opposition to it, can be found here: “Poll: 80% of Spanish Youth Opposes Mass Amnesty for Illegal Migrants,” by Christian K. Caruzo, Breitbart, April 20, 2026:
A survey in Spain found some 80.5 percent of individuals aged 17 – 25 reject the socialist government’s mass amnesty plans for half a million illegal migrants, the digital newspaper El Español reported on Sunday.
The survey was conducted by the polling and research firm SocioMétrica for El Español between April 15 and 18 — the same week that the socialist government led by Prime Minster Pedro Sánchez began its mass amnesty process to benefit 500,000 illegal migrants in Spain with legal residence and work permits….
Sánchez apparently believes he can ignore the overwhelming will of the Spanish people; he’s no democrat, but an authoritarian, a Franco of the far left. He’ll be running for prime minister again in 2027; that election, and his likely loss, can’t come fast enough.
El Español detailed that, per SocioMétrica‘s findings, the measure is not just overwhelmingly rejected by the Spanish youth, but by the Spanish population in general, with 66.7 percent of respondents expressing to be against the mass amnesty plans against roughly one third of respondents who expressed to be in favor of it.
The rejection is noticeably higher among members of the center-right People’s Party (PP) and near-unanimous among members of the anti-mass migration VOX party, with 85 percent of PP members and 97.5 percent of Vox members expressing their rejection.
Despite widespread rejection to the measure, the Spanish socialist government executed the ongoing mass amnesty plans through a Royal Decree, which allows the socialist government to bypass the need from parliamentary approval, where Sánchez did not had enough votes to get it approved.
SocioMétrica found that 72 percent of respondents expressed their concerns that the amnesty will have a “pull effect” that attracts more illegal immigrants to Spain in the hope of obtaining a residence permit like the half a million that will soon receive said benefits….
Even among those who voted for Sánchez’ Socialist Party, 40% are alarmed about the effect of granting amnesty, which will undoubtedly lead more people to decide to immigrate to Spain, causing even more societal upheaval (between the indigenous non-Muslims and the overwhelmingly Muslim immigrants), more crime (Muslims in Europe have much higher rates of criminality than non-Muslims), and greater expense (Muslim migrants have shown themselves determined to take advantage of every welfare benefit the government can lavish upon them).
Sánchez ignores reality. There is no guarantee that these no longer illegal migrants will. be a net gain to the economy. Nowhere in Europe have Muslim migrants been in a hurry to be employed, many preferring to live on the dole. They lack the skills to do anything except the most menial kind of work. Instead of earning money and paying into the state pension system, many will be taking money from the already shaky welfare program.
And I want to tell the right and the far right who oppose this that Spain is a product of migration and will not be a mother of xenophobia.”
How is Spain a “product of migration”? What can Sánchez be thinking of? Spain is among the countries that historically have been the least affected by migration, or at least it was until the last three decades, when Muslim migrants from North Africa, especially from Morocco, began to flood into the country.
Sánchez will push through his plan, and a half-million illegal migrants will suddenly become legal. But the Spanish people, two-thirds of whom are dead set against this plan, will have their revenge next year at the ballot box, when they vote out the Socialists and likely give the anti-immigrant (or more exactly, anti-Muslim-immigrant) Vox party, now surging in the polls, the victory it deserves.

500, 000 Muslims in Spain, plus the thousands already there, will make the inevitable invasion from north Africa that much easier

Absolutely true it is an invasion of Spain and other countries.

Leftists never really care about what the people want, whether in Spain, America, et al. because they know better than the rabble. Yes, Leftists will often times pose as moderates and thus allies of the common man in order to get elected, a most recent example being the total Leftist who is the present Governor of Virginia, but in the final analysis Leftists will use the electoral system to game it for their own “enlightened” agenda.
Yep, Leftists know best and if you disagree with them then you’re stupid or vile or both. Such is the way and manner of Leftthink. Here in America what has become particularly ominous is that Leftthink has taken over one of the two major political parties. Talk about ominous.

If it’s the case that the vast majority of the electorate is against immigration and amnesty, how did Sanchez win the election?
He ran on being pro immigration and amnesty.
The vast majority were opposed before the election.
So how does a pro immigration and amnesty candidate win an election when the vast majority are opposed to him?
I can only think that like most countries with “generous safety nets” where the government is in charge of making life “more fair”, Sanchez promised to make life “more fair” for “those struggling”.
So Spaniards who were “struggling” voted for Sanches, thinking he meant them.
Perhaps the voters might want to require a little more clarity as to the definition of “those struggling” before they cast their vote next time.
Int this case Sanchez meant “those struggling”to breach Spains borders.

He did not win the election. The PSOE came in second, but the idiotic 1978 constitution gives too much weight to the regional parties, which for fifty years have been indoctrinating students in their mythical racial superiority (e.g. “Catalans are Aryans, while the rest of Spain is populated by
Africans and Semites” according to the exiled Carles Puigdemont who still controls 7 votes which Sanchez needs to stay in power) and hatred of Spain. The day before the elections, Sanchez claimed that he would never make a deal with communists and separatists, but the next day he “changed his mind” and made deals with all the parties that hate the country to get a total of three votes more than the two “right-wing” parties together.
He cannot afford any defections so all his partners can make him offers he can’t refuse
The left has lost all the recent local elections, so Sanchez plan is to change the electorate before the next general elections next year. He has already packed the Constitutional Tribunal to try to stay out of jail himself (and his wife and brother) or get amnestied after conviction like his partners in the government.

Thank you. I am interested in the mechanics of how various election actually work.
I am relieved to see that Sanchez was not directly elected. He can still do a lot of damage.
Would it be fair to say this is one of those “deal with the devil” coalition governments that form when no party wins a majority?
In order to “win” the party with the biggest, non majority vote block, joins with other parties they hate – just to win?
The real point of the exercise is to make changes to the election conditions so as to try to ensure your party’s majority in the next election, e.g. turning Islamic invaders into Spanish citizens.

Winston, 80 percent of the youth are outraged by this legalization of invaders, pillagers, and opportunists. That’s a poll that dropped the other day.

Thanks for that background, Emilio.

This goes hand in hand with his hatred towards Israel. The far left is in league with Islam in destroying western civilization. Therefore, Israel is demonized for being the the bulwark in the Middle East against jihadists.
How dare they care about their citizens and their culture!

As a person of Spanish background, I find this Bolshevik Sanchez, a real idiot. Hasn’t he learned what happened in the 1920’s, 1930’s? The country was going through turmoil with Communism. Now fast forward and here we are again except its now regarding Islam, same thing. Not only that, but Spain Was Conquered by Islam for about 300yrs! They finally got rid of them when Queen Isabella finally had the Crusades since the Muslimes kept killing, looting, robbing and kidnapping the Spaniards.
So apparently Sanchez either doesn’t know his Spanish history or thinks these people have changed.
As the saying goes;
‘If you don’t know History, You are bound to repeat it..’

Will another Pelayo arise to resist this Jihadi invasion of Spain? Hopefully before long.
At least King Roderic attempted to stop the Muslim invasion of Spain; whereas King Pedro Sanchez is encouraging the Muslim invasion of Spain.

This is news to me! Given the mandates Sanchez had gotten in his elections, I was under the impression that most Spaniards are happy to re-embrace their islamic past
Wonder whether Espana has its version of National Rally (France) or Norda Liga (Italy)?

This will present a problem a few years down the road for Poland and Hungary. Right now, Poland and Hungary will not accept any African or Muslim migrants within their borders. But, what happens when Spain grants citizenship to these Third World low lives? As a European Union nation, both Poland and Hungary have to let other EU citizens passage. The only way around it is for both these countries to leave the European Union. That presents it someone instead of problems, primarily economic, but it may be the lesser of the evils.
࿗Infidel࿘ says
The solution would be Poland, Hungary and indeed other Eastern European countries – Bulgaria, Serbia, Greece, Romania, Slovakia, Czech,…. leaving the EU and just making their own carve-out/equivalent of it – maybe Visegrad or something else. Have in that group every country that is not on the same page as the EU – Poland, Czech, Slovakia, Slovenia, Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, maybe toss in Latvia, Lithuania, Ukraine, Georgia, Armenia and maybe even Belarus
Be like the EU in terms of tariff-free zones for members, but unlike the EU, allow enough sovereignty of each member, and don’t try to come up w/ things like common currencies or no borders. That would be like the EU used to be before German unification, when Chancellor Helmut Kohl came up w/ his genius idea of a single European nation

Overwhelming Opposition in Spain to Giving Amnesty to 500,000 Illegal Immigrants
