It’s been a month since Israel began its Operation Roaring Lion and America began its Operation Epic Fury, both directed at ending the Islamic Republic of Iran’s nuclear and ballistic missile threats against them and, as it became clear, against the Gulf Arab states as well. Both President Trump and Prime Minister Netanyahu have made public their views on what has been achieved so far, as the war appears to be approaching a climax. More on the remarks by both leaders can be found here: “Trump: No deal needed to end the war, Iran won’t be able to obtain a nuke ‘for years,’” by Jacob Magid and Lazar Berman, Times of Israel, March 31, 2026:
US President Donald Trump on Tuesday said Iran does not have to agree to a deal to end the ongoing US-Israeli war with the Islamic Republic, and stated that the United States will probably wrap up the war in two or three weeks.
The White House later announced that Trump would “address the nation” on Wednesday night at 9 p.m. Eastern time to provide an update on the war.
Trump also declared that Iran’s surviving stockpiles of enriched uranium did not concern him at all since they are buried underground and inaccessible, while Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu boasted that Israel, during the current conflict, has “smashed” Tehran’s ability to produce nuclear weapons.
The remarks from both Trump and Netanyahu appeared to potentially set the stage for the conclusion of the war, even as the US has been amassing troops for a potential ground operation in Iran.
“No, [the Iranians] don’t have to make a deal,” Trump said in response to reporters’ questions at the White House, which later announced the president will “address the nation” about the war on Wednesday at 9 p.m. eastern time.
“When we feel that they are… put into the stone ages and won’t be able to come up with a nuclear weapon, then we’ll leave, whether we have a deal or not,” he said. “It’s irrelevant now.”…
Trump added that it would take Iran “10 years to rebuild” after the war….
That may be, but we must remember that Trump is given to hyperbole. After the Twelve-Day War last June, he insisted that the Americans had “obliterated” Iran’s entire nuclear program, including destroying the 400 kg. of uranium enriched to a level of 60%. That turned out to be false. The uranium is still there, deep underground, and no one can be sure just how deeply it is buried, and how much rubble lies on top of it.
At the beginning of the current war, Iran had 3,000 ballistic missiles. It is now estimated to have only 1,000. IDF bombs destroyed some, and others were used up in attacks on Israel and on seven Gulf Arab states. Iran also has seen 90% of its missile launchers destroyed or so damaged that they cannot function. Furthermore, all of the factories that produce those ballistic missiles have been destroyed. In addition, on March 27, Israel destroyed most of two large steel mills in Isfahan, though Iran has others that are still intact, but likely not for long; they are on the IDF’s To-Do List.
For a campaign that is only one month old, it’s quite a record. Every single ballistic missile factory has been smashed to smithereens. As for Iran’s nuclear project, both the Americans and the Israelis have hit, repeatedly, the uranium enrichment facilities at Fordow, Natanz, and in Isfahan, and the Americans, who used their bunker-buster bombs, believe that the famous 400 kg. of uranium enriched to a level of 60% is now under so many tons of rubble that it will be impossible for the Iranians to ever dig it up. But in case the Iranians should try to unearth it, the IDF’s spy satellites will pick up any activity at the sites and the Israeli and American air forces can then “mow the grass” with a policy of instantaneous bombing on those same suspiciously-tended sites.
Well done, airmen and soldiers, of both America and Israel. Now let’s see what you can accomplish in another few weeks of bombs aweigh while Iran flails out with the little it has left, in every direction, sealing the enmity of every one of its neighbors.

Why isn’t Israel focussing on taking out what remains of Iran’s political leadership? Pezeshkian, Ghalibaf, Araghchi?
Also, ideally, the US should capture Kharg island and then call it a win, while holding it until there is a new regime in Iran. Hopefully, in the meantime, Israel should weaken IRGC and Basij to the point that Reza Pahlavi and his transition team can start taking over

Somewhat related, but lonnnnnnnnng overdue

I do hope he actually delivers on this. In the Iran war, either take Kharg island and hold it, or just leave the rest to Israel, given how much the islamic regime is weakened. Time to focus on the Americas and the Indo-Pacific

All good points, Infidel.

A ground invasion of Iran would be a huge mistake & failure. There are 1 million Iranian soldiers there waiting for them. It would make Vietnam look like a walk in the park. Trump needs to wrap it up & go home.

I was only recommending a ground invasion and takeover of Kharg island, not mainland Iran as a whole. Once that’s done, their money flow stops completely
David M says
Same thing. Kharg Island would be still be a bloodbath & total failure if Trump tries to take it.

Alternative would be to just bomb and destroy it, and leave it to the next Iranian government to spend decades reconstructing it

America should immediately take the Iranian oil money to pay for the War costs. Muslims are bombing Israel indiscriminately. As a result, President Trump and Israel should target locations where Muslim Leaders and their Iranian soldiers are hiding themselves, their weapons, their bombs, their missiles, etc. which includes: Mosques, Hospitals, Universities, Schools, etc. Allah expects all Muslim believers to war against all non-Muslims until the Unbelievers convert to Islam or face Muslim violence. Allah in Qur’an 8:39 says, “And engage in war with them[Non-Muslims] until there will not be sedition and the religion will be completely to Allah…”
Allah says to kill the NON-MUSLIMS) who deny Allah and his Apostle. Allah Qur’an 5:33 “Surely the reward of those who war against Allah and his messenger and go about to vandalize on the earth is only that they will be killed or crucified or have their hands and legs cut off on opposite sides or they will be banished from the earth. This is their disgrace in this world, and in the hereafter they will have a great torment.”

It should be made clear that this war that horrific “mullah regime” of not against Iran and certainly not against the Iranian people.
For the Iranian people should be aided by America and Israel in their righteous and just quest for freedom from the horrendously opressive misery -and death inflecting tyrannical regime of Iran .For then they may establish .legitimate government which ensures and respects the basic natural human rights of its citizens.

A revised and improved version of my above essay is the following.
It should be made clear that this American –Israel alliance war against that horrific “mullah regime” is not against Iran and certainly not against the Iranian people.
For the Iranian people should be aided by America and Israel in their righteous and just quest for freedom from the horrendously oppressive misery -and death inflecting tyrannical regime of Iran.
For when reed from that oppressive tyranny ,they then they may establish .legitimate government which ensures and respects the basic natural human rights of its citizens.

It is ‘bombs away’ Mr Fitzgerald not aweigh. A praise no doubt coined by bomb aimers in WW2 over Germany in WW2. Meaning all bombs gone.

That tyrannical Islamic regime of Iran is the enemy the Iranian people, through that misery and death inflecting horrific Islamic tyranny of Iran, which is evil in sense of that word. Therefore, that Islamic tyranny is so terribly horrific and cruelly oppressive that it should be overthrown and replaced with a legitimate, genuine, government, which respects and safeguards those natural human rights of the people of Iran.
For that horrendously cruel oppressive malicious and murderous Islamic regime of Iran, denies the Iranian, people their basic natural human rights. As in consequence the people of Iran would and should revolt against that viciously brutal tyrannical “’mullah regime” of Iran.
Accordingly, the Iranian people are right and righteous by engaging in bitter and strong protests against those cruel malicious and murderous tyrants in power of that cruel and oppressive Sharia based dictatorship of that vicious Islamic regime of Iran.
In other words, those vicious despots of that horrendously horrific Islamic regime have provoked the people excessively too far.
In addition, some of the people who trapped in and forced to exist in the Islamic dictatorship of Iran might not know about the intellect philosopher John Locke, but his ideas do apply to them. For Mr. Locke taught that any good government has the duty to ensure the security and safety of its citizens. So the people under the bondage and oppression of a tyrannical government do have every natural and ethical right to overthrow that terrible and oppressive tyrannical government.
