Minnesota: Somalis Demand Schools Teach in Somali So Their Kids Don’t Learn English

Faribault, Minnesota, is a small city about an hour’s drive from Minneapolis. On paper it should have the smaller crime rate of the alphabetically similar Farmington which is nearly the same size and only a half hour away. Instead, Faribault has more than twice as much violent crime, aggravated assaults, burglaries and car thefts, 30% more rapes, and 8 times as many robberies. Farmington has no arsons, but Faribault has the most arsons of any city outside major strongholds like Minneapolis, St. Paul or Duluth.

But Faribault has something Farmington doesn’t: diversity. Especially from its Somalis.

The city of over 20,000 used to be much less diverse. In 1990, it was even 98% white. Or as the Minnesota Post described it, with a shudder, “an almost entirely homogeneous white community, not much different from many towns across Minnesota.” But Faribault was an hour away from Minneapolis at a time when it was being overtaken by Somali mass migration, and it had a meat processing plant, now partly shut down, which is always a draw for illegal aliens and migrants.

Now Faribault is much more diverse and it has problems that it didn’t used to have.

Faribault was the epicenter of a $2.6 million Somali Medicaid ride fraud scam in which 8 Somalis, two of them named Mohammed, stole hundreds of names to bill taxpayers for rides, interpreters and acupuncture services that never happened.

It was also part of the $250 million Somali meal scam that first broke open Somali fraud.

Faribault’s part in the massive fraud in which nonprofits claimed to be providing free meals to hundreds of thousands of Somali kids who didn’t exist came through the Somali American Faribault Education (SAFE) run by Mohamed Hussein and Lul Bashir Ali, who made off with $5 million in meal funds after claiming that their restaurant in Faribault, which only had 9 tables, was serving meals to 1,600 children a day and had served a total of 700,000 meals.

The Somali American Faribault Education (SAFE) nonprofit also claimed to be providing meals to 2,500 children a day. Sizable amounts of kickbacks were paid to a man who then fled to Somalia. The Minnesota Post’s article praising the Somali takeover of Faribault had hailed SAFE, claiming that it “provides refugees with ESL programs and connects them to jobs”.

The other non-profit promoted by the Post article, the ‘Somali Community Resettlement Services’, which operates out of the massive 115-year-old historic Gale Mansion, often used as a wedding venue, has been linked to one Faribault meal site that claimed to be offering 2,000 meals a day.

The  ‘Somali Community Resettlement Services’ solicited nearly $3 million for the free meals and Somali elected officials had proposed bills that would pour millions into the organization.

The fraud also penetrated the Faribault public school system as investigators are also trying to figure out where $1 million in grant money to stop Somali drug abuse solicited by Lul Bashir Ali, initially identified only as a Somali mother, went.

“‘We need help.’ This sentiment, expressed by a Somali mother about the specific concern of youth drug use and the more general frustration of trying to parent in a new culture, captures the heart of this grant proposal.” The Minnesota Department of Human Services responded with nearly $1 million for the Faribault schools that was supposedly used to provide Somali services.

Faribault is much more diverse now with an estimated 4,600 Somalis out of 25,000 people. The white population has dropped to 65% and the school system is even more diverse.

Minority enrollment in the city’s schools was up 243% in twenty years. By 2018, minority students made up a majority of the school system.  Today, 60% of the school district is minority and only 36% white. A population of older white homeowners is subsidizing education and services for Somali and South American migrant meatpacking plant workers with their property taxes.

The Faribault School Board has recently been debating teaching science, health and social studies in Somali.  As of 2022, there were over 900 Faribault students who didn’t speak English.

The Somali education program was proposed after complaints from Somalis and other migrants that their “home languages were being lost as students became more English-dominant” and “parents and children no longer shared a common language, weakening communication and cultural connections within families.” Rather than expecting their parents to learn English, Faribault schools are expected to prevent their children from learning English, instead teaching them in Somali.

Faribault might as well teach the students in Somali because state test proficiency scores showed that math proficiency was at 13.7%, science was at 16.1% and reading was at 29.8%. Test scores, graduation rates, attendance and every possible metric are below state standards.

What would Faribault be like if it were less diverse and Somali? Faribault chool statistics show that students for whom English is their native language perform over three times better on math, science and more than twice as well on reading. Students who aren’t on welfare perform four times as well on math and science. Call it the ‘Somali Effect’.

Faribault is more diverse, it’s also more dangerous and has linked up with the epicenter of Somali fraud in the Twin Cities. Its schools are failing and it has no future.

“Faribault has become our city,” a Somali interviewed by the Minnesota Post bragged.

      Learn English, have English the only language in all things…period.

      If they need a person to translate let them hire and pay for it, better yet must speak English, read English before entering the country.

      • I mean, really I don’t see the problem with such a request. In PUBLIC schools in in America with Muslim populations , they serve halal meals to ALL students whether you want it or not, you’re eating that. I can show you a few if you don’t believe me .

        So why not just turn that school into a Somalian language taught school anyway.

        What Muslims request is usually always granted m, even prayer spaces in public schools, special treatment for Ramadan month. This isn’t far off.

        Muslims want to be boss, not weaklings like us.

        • I believe you. And the people pushing this are the same ones who were horrified by school prayer when I was young. I thought they would be just as horrified by this, but nope. Not at all.

          Why are people so keen on appeasing Islam? Are they simply too busy to really see the danger that is Islam or just would rather go along to go along?

      • Also, now, they can no longer make the (previously technically accurate) claim that English is not the official language of the US. Thanks to one of the first EOs President Trump signed, it is, although Congress has yet to ratify it (What are they waiting for – a Dem takeover of Congress?)

Plus, Muslims fund, create, and promote Criminal-Terrorist-Gang Organizations from Mosques, Muslim Homes, Muslim Schools, Islamic Centers, Muslim Non-Profits, etc. to Islamize America under Islamic Law, Sharia, to gain more taxpayer money, more political power, and more government control for Muslims. Allah expects all Muslim believers to war against all non-Muslims until the Unbelievers convert to Islam or face Muslim violence. Allah in Qur’an 8:39 says, “And engage in war with them[Non-Muslims] until there will not be sedition and the religion will be completely to Allah…”

    • Muslims and democrats are pretty much the same, as they both worship Satan. Allah is satan and Muhammad is his son. IMHO, every mosque most likely has a cache of weapons and ammunition. Several mosques in Europe were searched after terrorist events and weapons were found. Deport ALL muslims,, citizen or not.

    ESL means “English as a Second Language.” To learn English doesn’t mean they don’t speak their parent’s language (and the parents should have learned English).
    If their somali is so very important to them, they should all book flights for Africa and leave the people here to breathe huge sighs of relief.

    Many kids from other places (non-muzzie kids) have learned English in school and kept up with their parents’ language at home, thereby becoming bi-lingual, which is an asset in life.

    muzzies don’t want that because it might mean the kids also learn how very evil islime truly is and want to leave the evil behind..

    I am glad I do not own a home in that town. Thankful. And I feel for those White Americans who do.

      • Between 2001-2009 saw a jump in Somalia Growth During President Bush’s term in office. About 4,000.
        Then During Obama’s term in office it to over 40,000 that came into America. So we have to thank Presidents Bush and Obama for this they both let the Trojan horses. Send them all back where they came from.

What do they bring to the table to advance this country in the 21 century ??Who would not want millions of inbred sub IQ ,clannish welfare sucking ,cultural pirates invading our country to destroy our cultural as their main mission statement according to their backward cult like religious mission what is there not to love and embrace the suck of this ??Of course the democratic party loves this a block of invading locust who will vote democratic if you only let them rob ,rape ,murder or enslave the rest of us unbelievers??

      • I wonder how many elected officials in these blue states and blue cities are getting kick back from “non-profits ” contracts to look the other way? Even ,00005 percent of billions is alot of money in the pockets to those in charge of the candy jar of public tax money . That money disappearing into thin air for empty rooms behind “learing centers ” ,Medicaid fake medical tests fake medical treatment in deep clannish communities where most are not even literate in their “native language”: who is walking them thru these rackets ?Why are the democrats so scared of voter ID ,or deporting illegal aliens ,or limited immigration of people who have nothing to offer America in the 21 century but terrorism, jihadism ,and a taxpayer money drain for a block of democratic party votes ?Why bring in people who have open contempt for western society and will refuse to assimilate to America cultural or law?     Having the nation split with two or more languages being used is the number 1 way to destroy a nation, according to Governor Lamm. He had eight points in his plan to destroy our nation. And just looking at the headlines in some of the reports coming out today, I can see his plan is in full effect.

    “WASHINGTON, April 2 (Reuters) – Islamic Society of Milwaukee President Salah Sarsour, who is a Palestinian American, has been detained by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency, the mosque said on Thursday.

    ISM, which is Wisconsin’s largest mosque, said Sarsour, 53, is a legal permanent resident who has lived in the U.S. for over three decades and was detained on Monday. He grew up in the Israeli-occupied West Bank.
    “He was pulled over while driving by over 10 ICE agents with no cause,” a page on the mosque’s website said, adding he was taken out of the state to a detention facility in Chicago before being transferred to a detention center in Indiana.
    The Department of Homeland Security, of which ICE is a part, confirmed his arrest and accused Sarsour of lying on his immigration forms and alleged that he was “suspected of funding terror organizations.”

    DHS said he came to the U.S. in 1993. Noting his past conviction, it said he was previously “convicted for throwing Molotov cocktails at the homes of Israeli armed forces.”

    • Until last year, when President Trump signed an EO, English wasn’t the official language of the US anyway. Even now, that EO has not been ratified by either House or Senate, so it can be undone by the next (D) POTUS who comes along. I dunno what Johnson and Thune are waiting for: a Democrat takeover?

    Somalia has a per capita GDP of about $600–compared to the US at over $85,000.

  21. If you are in the U.S., you learn U.S. English. I do believe that RINOs and the Demonrats are aiding this process. I suspect they are getting money under the table. Patriots must face up to the reality of what the Somalis/Islam are doing to the U.S. Islam, and the Left must be brought to heal. Mass deportation would be a start. The U.S. must ring itself in with steel. We still have voting here. Vet the candidates that will stand for Uncle Sam. Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition. Vote! Vote! Vote!

    • Totally agree, can you imagine if this was allowed? Next they’ll demand all Americans move to a certain area out of their way —- oh wait, they already tried to go into upscale neighborhoods demanding people open their homes to them. Wasn’t that a few years ago?
