How the IDF Eliminated 180 Hezbollah Terrorists in Ten Minutes

The IDF on Friday revealed the details behind the largest strike in Lebanon since the start of Operation Roaring Lion. That strike took place on Wednesday, April 8, and within ten minutes at least 180 Hezbollah terrorists were eliminated, in near-simultaneous strikes on the Dahiyeh neighborhood in southern Beirut, on the Bekaa Valley, and on the area between the Litani River and the Lebanese border with Israel. The IDF on Friday revealed the details behind the largest strike in Lebanon since the start of Operation Roaring Lion.

According to a statement from the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit, the IDF on Wednesday completed a large-scale wave of strikes targeting command centers and military infrastructure belonging to the Hezbollah terrorist organization across three areas simultaneously: Beirut, Beqaa, and southern Lebanon, following Hezbollah terrorists’ attempts to expand their activity from Beirut northward into additional areas.

The large-scale wave of strikes was based on precise and high-quality intelligence, while using high-quality capabilities that allowed striking multiple areas simultaneously within a single minute.

Following an initial IDF intelligence assessment, it can be determined that the IDF has eliminated more than 180 Hezbollah terrorists. The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit stressed that the count is ongoing at this time….

The figure of 180 terrorists killed was preliminary; more bodies are under the rubble and will no doubt add to the final count.

Prior to the strikes, steps were taken to minimize harm to uninvolved civilians as much as possible, including using precise ammunition and aerial surveillance, the statement stressed.

The “aerial surveillance” refers to the long-established practice of Israeli pilots to abort an attack if they see that too many civilians are at or near the site about to be targeted. This is not something many other militaries do, and it is one of the reasons that West Point Professor John Spencer concluded his study of the war in Gaza with this observation: “Israel has done more and implemented more measures to prevent civilian harm than any military in the history of urban warfare.”

NPR and the BBC have claimed that Israel “conducted massive raids, killing more than 300 civilians, including women and children.” They do not report that of that figure of 300, which comes from Hezbollah itself, nearly two-thirds were, according to the Israelis, Hezbollah combatants. Imagine if those networks were to report the April 8 attach thus:

“In the early hours of April 8, Israeli planes struck forty-five targets, across the country, including Hezbollah’s stronghold in the Dahiyeh neighborhood of southern Beirut, the Bekaa Valley, and the territory between the Litani River and the Israeli border. The targets included Hezbollah’s weapons depots, its rocket launchers, its command-and-control centers, using precision munitions. The attack was over in ten minutes. Hezbollah claims 300 civilians were killed. Israel believes that whatever the total number of those killed, at least 180 were Hezbollah terrorists.”

So which has a better track record of telling the truth — the IDF, or Hezbollah?
