Close attention should be paid to the deceitful words of Shakir Mustafa in response to Jay Mitchell. Mustafa is teaching professor of Arabic at Northeastern University. He references “ignorance” of Islam and the Qur’an. He also insults the intelligence of infidels when he states that “the phrase ‘Allahu Akbar,’ in the form that these extremists are using it, simply does not appear in the Quran.” The issue is not whether “Allahu akbar” appears in the Qur’an. The issue is the context and meaning of “Allahu akbar,” and why jihadis frequently shout it before a violent attack. Mustafa fails to explain any of this. Instead, he deflects attention away from the real issue by talking about whether “Allahu akbar” appears in the Qur’an; he conveniently avoids discussing what is actually said in Islamic texts, and why jihadists do shout “Allahu akbar” when they murder people as instructed:
“Let those who sell the life of this world for the next fight in the way of Allah. Whoever fights in the way of Allah, whether he is killed or victorious, on him we will bestow a great reward.” (Quran 4:74)
A man asks Muhammad “which of men is the best?” Muhammad replies that it is the man who is always ready for battle and flies into it “seeking death at places where it can be expected.” (Sahih Muslim 20:4655)
In the words of Muhammad: “I would love to be martyred in Allah’s Cause and then get resurrected and then get martyred, and then get resurrected again and then get martyred and then get resurrected again and then get martyred.” (Sahih al-Bukhari 2797)
So when jihadists shout “Allahu akbar” before doing exactly what is commanded in the Qur’an and Hadith, it is a declaration of their faith in Allah as being “greater” than the God or gods of the infidel or infidels. The praises of Allah ring out just as the infidels are about to be violently killed in the name of Allah.
Taqiyya (dissimulation) is another practice in Islam. As Muhammad said: “War is deceit.”(Sunan Abī Dāwūd 2637). Islamic scholars such as Shakir Mustafa easily play Westerners for fools. These alleged authorities actively deceive non-Muslims and avoid discussing the violent, abusive and supremacist verses in the Qur’an and Hadiths.
The Washington Post some years ago described ISIS caliph Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi as an “austere religious scholar.” The Post was rightfully ridiculed for this, but al-Baghdadi did actually have a PhD in Islamic theology, and so was a much greater scholar of Islam than Shakir Mustafa. Al-Baghdadi earned his bachelor’s degree in Sharia studies from the University of Baghdad, later completed advanced studies in Qur’anic recitation, and earned his master’s degree and doctorate in Qur’anic studies from the Islamic University of Baghdad. He went on to follow what he learned, and to lead others to do the same. So while the WaPo may have shot itself in the foot by praising him while insisting that Islam is a religion of peace, the publication was inadvertently revealing an inconvenient truth about what al-Baghdadi was in Islam, in which the highest calling is martyrdom (being killed while killing infidels) for the sake of Allah.
Normative Islam is not a religion of peace. It is a religion of conquest. Jay Mitchell’s wording does not reflect ignorance. It reflects utter frustration over the willful ignorance of the West in the truth about Islam.
“‘You can Allahu Akbar your butt all the way back to the Middle East’: Republican slams ‘radical Islam’ in new ad,” AL.com, March 30, 2026:
Alabama attorney general candidate Jay Mitchell has a new ad in which he tells those who “stand with radical Islam” to “Allahu Akbar your butt all the way back to the Middle East.”
The Arabic phrase translates to “God is greater.”
It also has a long history of being misused by religious extremists in Middle Eastern countries who have coopted the phrase as a rallying cry, falsely referencing the Quran to claim Islamic superiority over all other religions, according to Shakir Mustafa, teaching professor of Arabic at Northeastern University.
“Much of the success of Islamic fundamentalism is based in ignorance or in manipulating other peoples’ ignorance of what the religion is and what the Quran says,” Mustafa told the university news site in 2017.
“The phrase ‘Allahu Akbar,’ in the form that these extremists are using it, simply does not appear in the Quran.”
All current YouTube comments under Mitchell’s ad take issue with his choice of phrase.
“This is so beneath the office you’re seeking,” one reads.
“Can’t believe he said Allahu Akbar,” another reads.
“So offensive and ignorant. What a pathetic ad reflecting the exact state of this country right now.”…

Well, the Trinity is not specifically mentioned as such in the New Testament but this doesn’t mean the doctrine of the Trinity is not a major feature of Christianity. Moreover, Christians are not encouraged by their religion to actively deceive non-believers but the followers of Mo’s warped creed most certainly are.

Jesus said in Matthew 28:19 that His followers are supposed to teach all nations, baptizing in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
That is our Lord Jesus Christ, pretty plainly defining the Trinity. He doesn’t use the word “Trinity” but the definition is abundantly clear and does appear in the New Testament.

Good for Mr. Mitchell. Truth is sorely lacking today, and he must be a brave one to say what he did. Hopefully no apologies.

“He (Shakir Mustafa) also insults the intelligence of infidels when he states that the phrase ‘Allahu Akbar,’ in the form that these extremists are using it, simply does not appear in the Quran.”
The phrase was in Arab use before Islam. Remember, Islam claims it whittled the many gods, found in the Kabba, down to the one god. Followers of another god might easily have used the expression in giving thanks for some gratuitous event in their lives or bragging that their god is superior to the rest.
The phrase was used in earnest in the 7th century. It became important enough to have its own reference name – “Takbir” – a significant phrase in Islam, used in prayers, battle, and during special occasions like Eid.
Shakir Mustafa is only fooling the ignorant and gullable. It would be amusing to see his response to a loud and threatening shout of, “Allahu Ackbar!”, behind him.

On 7th October 2023 those who were pillaging, raping and torture-murdering Jews (and Thai Buddhist farm workers, too) in the kibbutzim and at the Nova festival location in southern Israel did so to the tune of gleefully howled allahu-akbar. Over and over. The survivors of those atrocities can testify to that fact. They heard the war-cries. And those war-cries would also be on record, in the footage that the jihadi mass-murderers, rapists and kidnappers themselves recorded on their own phones and go-pro cameras; footage that was livestreamed; footage that the Israelis found on the devices attached to the bodies of jihadis who had been intercepted and killed by the IDF.
I am quite, quite sure that people like Simon Deng, and the survivors of mohammedan assaults upon Christian villages in the Sudan or in Nigeria would also be able to testify that the howls of ‘Allahu akbar’ were heard from all around them, as murderous mohammedans attacked defenceless unarmed civilians and raped, burned, torture-murdered and robbed them.
Such testimony could, perhaps, be found and shared with Mr Mitchell, to consolidate his rational perception of ‘allahu-akbar’ as a war-cry, a declaration of mohammedan aggression and supremacism.
It’s no more ‘innocent’ and ‘peaceful’ than was the shout of ‘Heil Hitler’ between 1935 and 1945.

Did Hitler’s book Mein Kompf written in 1923-1924 say that all the people of Germany should greet each other by saying Heil Hitler ?So by jihadis’ logic Heil Hitler was not pushed as the official greeting or a “war cry ” in Germany between 1935-1945 ?The Moslem Jihadist have been shouting Allah akbar for longer then the Germans said Hail Hitler maybe 1200 years longer before committing violent jihadist attacks on non-Believers or even Moslems of the of the perceived wrong branch of the moon blood god of the pagan religion cult of Islam.

There really is a large-scale, dangerous ignorance of Islam in the US, unfortunately. Also, possibly they are blinded by bribery and drunk on power and all the goodies they get for being a leftist in office, and so they gaslight the truth, no matter how basic and obvious it is, so they vote against their own betterment and act shortsightedly. This journalist seems under orders and on payroll, or biased or ignorant, as you can quote Islamic scholars who support what jihadis do. Sort of like they are not really independent or free, and maybe don’t want to deal with complaints, or just feel outnumbered. I respect their right to opinions and interpretations, but biases and inaccuracies clearly happen in journalism. They find someone who gives an interpretation that clearly conflicts with the basic teachings of Islam. That professor is pushing a minority fantasy of Islam. It is like the leftist machine and the nature of the beast.
