The report about the U.S. sanctioning the Vancouver company, Seven Seas for International Trading and Logistics, for alleged ties to Hizballah reflects a trend that has existed for years. In 2020, the Trudeau government ramped up use of a special visa program that allowed the government to secretly admit foreign nationals who would otherwise be barred from entering Canada by citing “national interest” concerns. Also: “Ali Kourani, an operative of Hezbollah’s external operations arm, known as Unit 910, was arrested by the United States in 2017 and revealed under interrogation that the unit was ‘even more active in Canada than in the United States.” There was “no significant follow up about the matter from Canadian authorities.”

A Vancouver company has been sanctioned by the United States government for its alleged ties to a $100-million network accused of financing Iran-backed Hezbollah.
Seven Seas for International Trading and Logistics was added to the U.S. sanctions list in a move that targeted 16 individuals and entities in the Middle East and Canada.
The sanctions allege the co-founder and chief executive officer of the B.C. company is Raoof Fadel, who is based in Qatar and involved with the “Hezbollah finance team.”
Corporate records obtained by Global News show the sanctioned Canadian company was registered in B.C. in 2022 and remains active as 1380892 B.C. LTD.
Its directors are listed as Fadel, as well as Mohamad Wehbe and Ahmed Wehbe, all of whom are described in the records as residents of Qatar.
In addition to sanctioning their B.C. company, the U.S. Treasury also imposed sanctions on Fadel and Mohamad Wehbe, who are both Lebanese citizens.
They could not be reached for comment.
The company’s corporate registration was completed by a Winnipeg consulting firm, while its registered address is a Vancouver law firm, the records shows.
Neither responded to requests for comment. The company is not sanctioned in Canada. The federal government has not responded to questions.
The B.C. government said it was reaching out to federal authorities, who are responsible for national security, before taking any action….

“Russian authorities have seized hundreds of explosive-laden boot insoles intended for Vladimir Putin’s soldiers, according to the FSB.
These “heated” insoles, designed for use in cold weather, were allegedly rigged with enough explosives to blow off a wearer’s limbs. The Russian counterintelligence agency has pointed fingers at Ukrainian secret services for this scheme aimed at maiming up to 504 soldiers.
“A foreign national born in 1994 has been detained in Russia,” announced the FSB. “He was involved in the smuggling of weapons to Russia from Poland through Belarus, organised by Ukrainian intelligence agencies.”
The concealed explosives in the pairs of insoles had a power equivalent to 1.5 grams of TNT, the FSB revealed. “Detonation occurs when the insoles are connected to a power source and is designed to sever a part of a serviceman’s limb when they are used during combat missions.”

“Democrats have oriented their party around the whims of terrorist sympathizing antisemites. That is most true in Michigan, where even condemning an Islamic terrorist trying to murder Jewish preschoolers is somehow a struggle.
Abdul El-Sayed, the former director of the Department of Health, Human, and Veterans Services in Wayne County, is among the Democrats running for U.S. Senate in Michigan. El-Sayed is a competitive third in a three-candidate primary (pulling 17% in polls, just behind the two leaders at 23% each). More importantly, he is endorsed by a who’s-who of progressive Democrats: Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA), Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), and Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA). In other words, he is not some random nobody Democrat.
According to Punchbowl News, El-Sayed said in an internal campaign call that issuing a condemnation of the attack was a “risk.” Yes, condemning an attempted terrorist attack against a Jewish preschool is considered a “risk” by someone who is within striking distance of the U.S. Senate.
If that isn’t damning enough, El-Sayed’s team said in a statement that it was “important” to put out a “nuanced statement” to “give voice to the complexities that so many Michiganders are trying to navigate.” Again, we are talking about an Islamic terrorist trying to massacre Jewish civilians. His goal was to gun down preschoolers in their own classroom. Ah, but the “complexities.”

Both are correct. I’ve seen Israelis pronounce it as “Hizbullah”, and not sure what the Arabic pronunciation is

I share your desire to spell correctly. If you want to amuse yourself try looking up old articles about the former dictator of Libyia. The one Hillary bragged about deposing. Even in major publications of the time there was no agreement on the English spelling of his name. The spellings varied wildly.
English speakers tend to like being accurate in their spelling but English for Arabic names are really inconsistent. I’ve noticed here on J W that their “house spelling” for names and terms are different than mine. Sometimes guessing their version is annoying.
It’s like wondering what the correct spelling of “Mohammed” is.
