Those who thought President Donald Trump would. be satisfied with the death of Ayatollah Khamenei and forty other senior leaders, both civilian and military, the destruction of Iran’s store of ballistic missiles, its anti-missile defense systems, radar installations, naval ships, and attacks on nuclear sites that Iran had been rebuilding since the June war, have another think coming. It is now clear that Trump has no intention of stopping until the regime has collapsed, which he now predicts might take “four weeks.” More on his new war aim can be found here: “Trump will stay in the fight against Iran until regime is toppled, sources tell ‘Post’ – exclusive,” by Amichai Stein, Jerusalem Post, March 2, 2026:
Israel is confident that not only is regime change in Iran possible, but also that the US will stay in the fight until it happens, senior Israeli officials told The Jerusalem Post on Monday.
This is contrary to claims made by American officials who spoke with Reuters and expressed skepticism about the possibility of regime change.
“Trump intends to go all the way with this move,” one senior official told the Post. “He has already marked the target. He wants to replace the regime, and he has no intention of taking his foot off the gas.”
In recent days, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Donald Trump have said that the objective of the operation is to “create the conditions for the Iranian people to replace the regime.”…
Another senior official said that the significant and indiscriminate missile fire directed at Gulf states has led those countries to conclude that regime change in Tehran is necessary.
The barrage of missiles that the Iranians have launched at Sunni Arab states in the Gulf, including Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, and nearby, at Jordan, have turned those states into enraged enemies of Iran, promising to exact their revenge on the Islamic Republic. And they have concluded that it’s not enough for the American and Israeli attacks to weaken the rabid regime in Tehran; it needs to be replaced.
Trump said on Sunday night that he has three individuals in mind whom he views as possible leaders of Iran in the post-war period, but he did not disclose their names.
One of the three, surely, is Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi, whose name has been shouted by the protesters on the streets of Iran — those cries of “Javid Shah,” which means “Long live the shah.” He has made clear he would only be a temporary figurehead for a transitional government, and would remain, unless the Iranian people demanded that he stay, only until elections could be held and a new government put in place.
Dr. Raz Zimmt, director of the Iran and the Shi’ite Axis Program at the Institute for National Security Studies (INSS), estimates that the more plausible scenario at this stage is not regime change but rather a change within the current leadership.
“At the moment, the only scenario, even if it would be difficult to implement, is some form of change within the existing regime and the rise of more pragmatic leadership. Even that is not simple right now, because the atmosphere at the top of the political system is highly militant,” he said….
But as long as the Revolutionary Guards remain dominant, no leadership will be able to bring about significant change in Iran.”
And it is the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) senior leaders, IRGC headquarters, IRGC command-and-control centers, that the Israelis are now relentlessly targeting in Tehran. The Israelis have so far conducted more than 2,000 strikes in the country in the space of two days. When the Israelis predict that regime change is possible, while some Americans officials are doubtful, whom should we trust? Who knows more about the inner workings of the Iranian government, the mood of the Iranian people, and the morale of the IRGC and the Basij? Is it the CIA, most of whose operatives left Iran in 1979, or the Mossad, that has maintained a large presence in the country out of necessity, ever since the anti-Israel Ayatollah Khomeini replaced the pro-Israel shah?
Until the Iranians do come onto the streets, by the millions, the regime will not fall. And since that is now President Trump’s war aim, the Americans and the Israelis will continue their attacks on the IRGC, the regime’s main instrument of oppression, until it is so weakened, not just in weaponry but in its morale, that Iranians will again feel safe enough to go out on the streets, demanding the regime change that Trump insists is now his war aim. Within about a month, we will see if, as the Israelis claim, regime change is possible or if, as all sorts of talking heads in Washington predict, the regime, battered but not bowed, remains in place.

I agree. Yes, the principal reason for President Trump’s laudable assault on a most heinous regime has been to deny it nuclear weapons, ballistic missiles and support for its barbarous proxies like Hamas and Hezbollah, but this extraordinary man (and yes, Trump is a rarity among human beings, i.e., a great human being, and certainly possessed of faults and the capacity to err but a truly great personage nonetheless, and one knows this by now or should it and I for one am exceedingly tired of those who don’t) will not rest until all of the 47-year terror which has run Iran since 1979 is finally gone.
Of course, no certainty or rosy results among human affairs exists. After all, America and Britain had to align with Russia to defeat Germany and thereafter Russia, a country that never learns, whether under Czars, First Secretaries or Putin, has demonstrated again and again that, like Islam, it is a mortal enemy of true freedom.
Conclusion: Man is indeed an imperfect creature doing all kinds of evil and stupid stuff but the best of mankind, whether in the artistic field (e.g., Shakespeare), the scientific field (Jonas Salk), the political field (e.g., Abraham Lincoln), the philosophical field (e.g., Plato and Aristotle) the religious field (e.g., the founders of both Christianity and Judaism) have kept trying to take man to a higher plane of life here on Earth. And yes, I put Donald J. Trump in this very rare field. He is easily the single most consequential person on planet Earth right now and I see him as a force for sanity and freedom and that ain’t a bad combination.
In any case, Trump is the best humanity has going for it right now. Easy call. Doubt me? Well then, look at pathetic Western European leadership or, even worse, a President Harris. I rest my case.

I just hope that Maryam Rajavi is not one of the leaders he has in mind. It’s breathtaking how too many Republicans are stupid enough to fall for this islamo-marxist who’s hated in Iran probably even worse than the regime
Speaking of the regime, after the meeting by the “assembly of experts” today got sabotaged by the Israelis, it’s now being reported that one of Khamenei’s sons Mojtaba has been elected the new supreme leaders. The Israelis should probably hunt him down very quickly, before he gets any more traction
The “assembly of experts” was supposed to meet virtually after today’s attack, but given that it’s now day 4 or 5 of the renewed internet shutdown in Iran, which this time affects the regime people as well, not just the ordinary citizens, I just wonder how that’s even manageable. One report I heard was that only 7 members of that assembly are still alive b’cos they didn’t attend the meeting for one reason or another. At any rate, Israel could keep taking out Mojtaba, Larijani, Pezeshkian, Aragchi, et al one by one, until there is no IRGC figure w/ name recognition
As for why millions of Iranians are not marching in the streets, they have been warned by the Israelis to remain indoors. The IDF has a Farsi speaking spokesman who has been making a lot of announcements, which have made their way to Iranian cities. Since they’re still targeting major regime symbols of power, it’s probably not yet time for everybody to come out, even though some have been doing just that

Vahidi, who formerly served as the head of the IRGC’s extraterritorial Quds Force, is suspected of being behind the bombings of the Israeli embassy and AMIA Jewish community center in Argentina in the 1990s.”

Walter Sieruk says
About the US and Israeli Air Force striking the headquarters of those vicious oppressive despots of that Islamic tyrannical regime, that the way that those tyrants should be dealt with. That is hit them hard , hit them with consistent powerful airstrike then continue hitting them using much power of a strong might of military force against them, and their brutal cruel murderous thugs in uniform, as the who re called the” Revolutionary guards” and the so called “morality police.”
It had been rightly and wisely said that “Half –measures in war is folly and madness.”
Walter Sieruk says
It’s very fitting to hit them hard and hit for along tine and keep on hitting then until “mullah regime” is totally defeated. The in place in that horrendous tyranny a genuine, legitimist government should and needs to be established which respects the basic human rights of its citizens.
For the strong power of force of US and Israeli military might is a useful method for aid liberating the Iranian people in that righteous and just quest for freedom from that horrendously brutal cruel misery and death inflecting Islamic tyrannical regime.
For Iranian people are right and justified for hating that brutal cruel oppressive and even murderous Islamic tyrannical regime of Iran and revolting against it.
That horrific Islamic regime has arrested and imprisonment many and even execution of people , repeatedly, who had peacefully protested that “mullah tyranny” and demanding their basic human rights .
The horrendous repercussions against the Iranian people who only want human rights by those despots of Iran only further exposes the weak ,fearful and intolerant nature of those in power in the oppressive and brutal “mullah regime “ of Iran.
Therefore, the Iranians people are more than justified in wanting that brutal cruel oppressive Islamic tyranny to be overthrown and replaced with a genuine government.
As a former Muslim revealed an important reality when he wrote “The Islamic republic of Iran exists and operates as what every fundamentalist dreams of, an Islamic state ruled by sharia …” He further exposes that “What followed its establishment was the inevitable consequence and inexorable logic of its Islamic premise; state terrorism, a merciless tyranny.” [1]

Walter Sieruk says
President Trump did keep his promise to help the people of Iran in their righteous and just quest to establish a legitimate government installed in place of the horrific tyranny they had suffered under.
Maybe now a legitimate government will now be established in Iran, which respects the basic human rights of the people. In place of that horrendously brutal cruel oppressive Islamic tyrannical regime that inflected so much misery and death upon the people of Iran.
Furthermore, the surviving villains of the horrific Islamic tyranny must not be allowed to escape with impunity for the many horrendous evil they have committed. They need to be severely punished.
