The Islamic Republic is conducting two wars. One is the war being fought against external enemies — the United States and Israel. The second is the war that Iran’s regime has been fighting against its own people, which in the last year has reached new heights of lethality and cruelty. In just two days — January 8 and 9 — the regime’s enforcers managed to kill 36,500 protesters. While the numbers of those killed wax and wane, the killings never stop. A new report reveals the widespread scale of human rights abuses in Iran over the past year, as activists warn the regime may carry out another wave of mass executions to suppress growing opposition amid deepening unrest.
The Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), an independent group monitoring Iran, released a report last week, timed for Nowruz, the Persian New Year, outlining a deeply concerning human rights situation over the past 12 months, citing crackdowns on protesters, harassment of activists, threats to minorities, executions of children, violations of women’s rights, and dire prison conditions.
According to HRANA’s Statistics and Documentation Center, 78,907 people were arrested on ideological or political grounds from March 2025 to March 2026, highlighting a pervasive climate of repression across the country.
But the report warns that the number of arrests is likely much higher, given the difficulty of tracking such cases — especially earlier this year during recent nationwide anti-government protests, which security forces violently crushed, leaving thousands of demonstrators tortured or killed.
HRANA reports that at least 6,724 protesters, including 236 children, were killed during these protests, with an additional 11,744 cases still under verification. Multiple reports have put the death toll at over 30,000….
The death toll on Jan. 8 and 9, that Iranians abroad have received from informants inside the country is 36,500.
Last week, three young Iranian men, including 19-year-old wrestling champion Saleh Mohammadi, were executed as the regime intensifies its crackdown on dissent, The Associated Press reported.
Mahmood Amiry-Moghaddam, head of Oslo-based Iran Human Rights, told the AP the executions are “intended to instill fear in society and deter new protests” amid deepening unrest.
On Monday, Iran’s judiciary confirmed that cases tied to the January protests have reached final verdicts and warned that those convicted would face no leniency.
The last year has been one of unending horror, the worst of the 47 years of the Islamic Republic’s existence, inflicted on the people of Iran by their implacable rulers. And there is only more of the same to come, unless the Israeli goal of “creating the conditions in which the Iranians themselves can overthrow the regime” is achieved. The Iranians, or 85% of them, are ardently waiting for more attacks on the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and Basij by the IDF and the Americans. They are thinking not “death to America” and “death to Israel” as they have been forced to chant but, rather, “Big and Little Satans, please keep up the good work.”

No surprise! Every Iranian knows that living in an Islamic Country is a dangerous place to be where you survive one day at a time. Allah in Qur’an 33:36 says, “And it was not for a believing man or a believing woman, if Allah and his messenger judged an affair, that they will have a choice in their affairs; and whoever disobeys Allah and his messenger, so indeed, they err in a manifest error.” See also Qur’an 4:65.
Allah in Qur’an 9:111 says, “Surely Allah has purchased from the believers[Muslims] their souls and their money so that they may have the garden[Heavenly Paradise]. They engage in war for the sake of Allah[ie. Allah’s Cause to make Islam Supreme], so they kill and are killed…”.

One real problem they might have is that once this regime falls, that 15% muslim contingent still supportive of the regime will still be at large. Will they slither into their bunkers/tunnels or flee the country, or will they be a terrorist organization at large?
Also, I do hope that Iran becomes a democracy, but I’m wary of residual Leftist groups in Iran, who have been just quietly riding the course of events, hoping to claim power once it’s all done and dusted. Particularly the MEK. That’s the last thing Iran needs – a communist regime, which will more likely than not, be hostile to the US and Israel. The MEK is the worst of both – communist and islamic. I don’t know what got into several GOP leaders – from Mike Pence to Rudy Giuliani – that they’ve been supporting a party most Iranians seem to loathe
I’m not a blind Pahlavi advocate: if Iranians vote for a secular democratic republic, that would be just as fine w/ me, as long as the new government normalizes relations w/ both US and Israel, puts the same sort of leash on islamic practices that Uzbekistan does, allows religious freedom to everybody else – Deists/Agnostics/Atheists, Zoroastrians, Christians, Jews, Buddhists…. Beyond that, how they choose to fix their economic and environmental issues would be up to them

If the citizens were armed, this would already be over. Any nation which disarms its citizens is likely to become unacountable or worse, like the Iranian Regime, a tyranny.
We must admit that Islam is best at destroying conscience and robotic conditioning to eliminate the least questioning of itself. No other plan for life comes remotely close. Certainly Islam is the only religion which promises a reward for killing other humans and a greater reward for being killed by infidels. The Shi’a variety seems to be the leader in all things evil.

The heading of this article is a reflection of how events should, rightly, be For the title reads “The Regime’s: Last Year of Terror.”
For the US and Israeli Air Force striking the headquarters of those vicious oppressive despots of that Islamic tyrannical regime, that is the way that those tyrants should be dealt with. Using the power of a strong might of military force against them, and their brutal cruel murderous thugs in uniform, as the who re called the” Revolutionary guards” and the so called “morality police.”
As it had been rightly and wisely said that “Half –measures in war is folly and madness.”
Therefore, it’s fitting to hit them hard and hit for along tine and keep on hitting then until “mullah regime” is totally defeated. The in place in that horrendous tyranny a genuine, legitimist government should and needs to be established which respects the basic human rights of its citizens.

It’s worth noting that thousands of Iranian Americans and likewise of other Western countries have rallied in support of the recent military operations targeting those current rulers that Islamic tyranny of Iran.
They are celebrating the destruction of that horrendous regime of Iran, and likewise, as one of the said “We are celebrating life…The life that was stolen from us in 1979 is being returned to our brothers and sisters in Iran .we owe that miracle to the moral courage of the United States and Israel.”
Another American Iranian also said, “America is the one place on earth that still believes in freedom is worth defending and this week, America is proving it.”
At one such rally, it was declared, “The United States did not start this war, it finished it.” Since “the Islamic Republic began in 1979 it was against its own people, against Israel, against America, and against civilization itself.”

The Iranian Regime’s Last Year of Terror?
It’s a nice thought, but I won’t believe it until I see it. Is Iranians’ desire for freedom stronger than their tie to Islam? Would family members rebel against the IRGC or would they rather go with the flow in the belief that nothing bad can happen to them because their IRGC connection will protect them?
We have to stop thinking the US can ‘liberate’ Iran. It didn’t work in Iraq or Afghanistan. Both countries proved that Islam is more important to them than freedom. Too many people in the West would go along to get along rather than resist the tyranny of Islam.
Members of the Iranian diaspora may be celebrating, but they are safe and secure in the West. Let THEM go home and fight for Iran, if they really want to see the end of this regime.

I believe that both the Israelis as well as Reza Pahlavi have asked Iranians to shelter at home, not come out and get unnecessarily killed until he gives them the signal. So far, they haven’t gotten to that point, although it looks like they are getting there

Shelter in place cannot last forever. At some point, individual Iranians have to be willing to put their own lives on the line in order to gain their freedom, assuming that they really want freedom. The US cannot liberate them. They are going to have to do it themselves. They have to be willing to fight fellow Muslims when the time comes. Seeing is believing.

Here’s a thought. If Reza Pahlavi is truly serious about leading his country in the future, then one thing he could do is go quietly to the Israelis and say to them: “I wish to lead my people to freedom, but in order to do that, I need to be willing and able to face danger. Put me in boot camp, among the raw recruits, and teach me how to fight. And teach me how to create a citizen army that is principled and that works with and for its people, not against them.”
