There’s no possibility of pleasing the Palestinian Authority (PA) when efforts come from Israelis, not even when it involves saving Palestinian lives. That’s because of the PA’s steady feeding of a culture of death for profit and Islamic expansionism, and its fixation on hatred of Israelis and on martyrdom — the highest calling in Islam.
The PA also views the Western Wall and Temple Mount (which it calls the Al-Aqsa Compound) as belonging to Islam.

According to the Palestinian Authority, Israel is acting criminally when it closes Muslim holy sites to protect against needless loss of life from Iranian missile attacks during the Iran war.
This, even though Israel is applying the safety regulation uniformly across the country, prohibiting gatherings of more than 50 people at holy sites of all religions – something that PA officials and media refuse to disclose to their people.
As Palestinian Media Watch reported last week, this is an especially hypocritical accusation, since the PA police have also issued guidelines restricting large gatherings. The tens of thousands of worshippers that typically visit Al-Aqsa Mosque during Ramadan would certainly qualify as a prohibited “large gathering” even according to the PA regulations.
But for the PA, it doesn’t matter – because any Israeli decision that affects land it claims is Muslim-owned property is an “illegal” order. This has now been stated quite clearly by PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas’ Advisor on Religious Affairs and Islamic Relations Mahmoud al-Habbash…

I think I may go w/ the PA on this one. Israel has no business trying to protect “Palestinians” viz Arab muslim from Iranian attacks: that is the responsibility of the PA and the PA alone. If any Iranian missiles land on them, it’s the will of allah, and who is Jerusalem to say otherwise?
Israel has enough on its plate protecting its own citizens as well as the Iranian people, and doesn’t need the added burden of protecting people who hate it

They’ll be blamed either way. But Israel should simply stay out of it: after al, that sort of autonomy the PA does have – as far as islamic holy places go. It’s only w/ Jewish holy places like Joseph’s tomb in Nablus where Israel still has kept the authority to continue calling the shots
