The PA’s strictly informative reports on the war and the lack of eulogies for Khamenei stand in stark contrast to the PA’s glorification of Hamas leaders who were killed in the Oct. 7 war against Israel. Palestinian Media Watch exposed the PA’s responses to Israel’s killing of Ismail Haniyeh, whom they praised as a “great leader and national symbol“, calling his assassination a “heinous crime” and a “grave tragedy”.

Makes sense. Much as they may admire the islamic regime, there are 2 things about it:
⮞ That regime supported Hamas, which is their political opposition. However, if they dared rejoice at Khamenei’s death, they may piss off the bulk of their population
⮞ Otoh, if they mourned Khamenei like Hamas and PFLP, they’d incur the wrath of all the Arab countries currently at war w/ the IRGC. The last thing they want is a repeat of 1991, when after the Palis supported Saddam Hussein’s occupation of Iraq, they were kicked out of Kuwait once it was liberated
