A shocking case has come to light from a place called Chelur in Karnataka’s Chikkaballapur district. In this case, a woman named Mehboobi has been arrested for murdering her 40-day-old grandson. The police claim that her motive for killing her grandson was her anger at her granddaughter marrying a Hindu boy against her wishes.
The incident took place on 24th December, 2025, at Mehboobi’s residence in Chelur. When the newborn baby boy was staying with his mother at her grandmother’s house after birth.
Soon after the baby’s death, Mehboobi told relatives that her grandson had developed breathing problems and had died. Trusting her explanation, the family performed the last rites without suspecting anything suspicious.
But soon after that, the mother of the baby started suspecting that something was fishy. According to police sources, “The mother of the deceased child started suspecting something after noticing Mehboobi’s behaviour. She then approached the Chelur police and filed a complaint seeking a proper investigation.
After the complaint was filed, the police initiated an investigation into the matter and obtained permission to exhume the baby’s body for a post-mortem examination. The body was examined in the presence of officials and sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) for further investigation.
The FSL report revealed that the infant had died due to suffocation and not because of any illness. The police officials stated that Mehboobi’s statements were contradictory during the investigation, which led them to suspect her of the crime.
During the investigation of the case, the officials found that Mehboobi was unhappy because her granddaughter had married a Hindu man in a love marriage. Mehboobi was also unhappy about the birth of the child from that interfaith marriage….

I’m not getting this. This muslima had a 40-day old grandson, and a granddaughter who was married? Also, was the baby she murdered her granddaughter’s baby, since that’s the only interfaith marriage in the story? In which case, it would have been her great-grandson!
That baby’s father should break all relations w/ his in-laws, and take his wife away, be it alone or w/ his side of the family. So that future kids of his don’t run the same risk

I get that. My confusion was from the story, which seemed to suggest that the granddaughter who married a Hindu was the sister of the baby that was murdered. Which makes no sense, since her brother wouldn’t be half-Hindu. But if it was the granddaughter’s baby that was murdered, then that baby would have been her great-grandson
It’s good that she’s been imprisoned. If she’s let out, she should be sent straight to allah

Imagine being so indoctrinated, hateful, (and stupid) that you would end the life of an innocent great-grandson carrying your DNA inheritance and totally destroy any relationship with your granddaughter, forever.
That is the action of a cult, a main characteristic of which is valuing the cult above familial relations and requiring separation from the unbelievers.
This instance, and there are others in India, shows Islam weakening between generations. Hopefully the women of Islam will continue to reject Islam’s controls and its indoctrinated men. In this age, Islam’s societal power, in Western nations, is dependent upon the control of its women and not permitting them to marry outside of Islam.
India, the US, UK, EU and other “free” nations give Muslimas options to leave Islam and, unfortunately, more “honor” killings will occur as it happens.
