Yet many in the West continue to insist that the Taliban don’t implement Sharia, but some “extremist” misunderstanding of it. All right. So Qanta Ahmed or Raheel Raza or Asra Nomani or some other “moderate Muslim” should go over to Kabul and explain to Hibatullah Akhundzada how he and his Taliban colleagues are misunderstanding Sharia.

KABUL, AFGHANISTAN – Taliban supreme leader Hibatullah Akhundzada reiterated his call for absolute obedience to his authority and full implementation of the group’s interpretation of Islamic law across Afghanistan in a message released on Monday ahead of Eid al-Fitr.
In his message, Akhundzada described compliance with his orders, laws, and decrees as “obligatory” for Afghans and all Muslims. “Just as you have obeyed before, continue to obey your Supreme Leader, because obedience to those in authority is obligatory upon every Muslim according to the clear verse of the Quran,” he said.

So-called “extremist” sharia law muslims punish “moderate” sharia law muslims by beating them, imprisoning them, burning their homes, cutting off hands, killing them, etc., and publicly make an example of them (like hanging them high or caning them in a stadium).
