What the leftist wipeout says about the temperature of the voters.
Everyone is trying to read the tea leaves for the midterms. Democrats have been hyping their wins in very specialized races. And the Left has been declaring that it’s going to finish devouring and digesting the Democrats.
On paper, it should be looking good. The public is dissatisfied. The Left’s program of socialism disguised as economic populism and antisemitism disguised as anti-Zionism should be selling. Except the Illinois wipeout suggests it’s not.
Again, on paper Obamaville, where the dead vote and the unions run everything, should have been a good choice. Plenty of leftists have been elected here. And the Democrat primaries in many urban areas are virtually owned by the Left.
But 6 potential Squaddies, including two Muslim candidates, lost Democrat congressional primary races.
The media and the Left (but I repeat myself) are blaming AIPAC and the newly combative pro-Israel lobby, which sees itself being NRA’d out of the Democrats, is happy to take credit, but its results were mostly mixed.
So what does explain the Left taking a beating in primaries it should have been able to dominate?
Despite all the anti-ICE hysteria, radicalism fatigue may be setting in. Enough Democrat primary voters showed no interest in voting for the ‘podcast class’, the Bernie Brats, Hamas fan girls and the rest of the radicals.
The Left was hoping that Mamdani’s victory was a bellwether, but just like Obama’s win what it really showed was that a smooth radical isn’t supposed to sound like one. Democrats didn’t want. The Bernie people, the Justice Dems and that ilk lost badly in Illinois because maybe radicalism isn’t what the Democrat voter wants right now.
The flip side of Trump Derangement Syndrome, which MAGA is rarely aware of, is that the hysterical energy exhausts itself quickly and at some point, Dems ask what the radicals have done for them. And they didn’t like the answer.
Why? Maybe ask Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson whose approval ratings were lower than the winter temps.

It’s mixed news. On one hand, had they won their primaries, they’d have won their general elections as well. Otoh, the Democrat Party is nowhere near becoming a sane center-Left party that it was under, say, Bill Clinton

Mamdani’s failures to get funding to keep his promises to the free stuff crowd ,his preaching that the” rich ” taxpayers are evil as they leave in droves .His inherited tax law he want the governor to past that will lower the min level to tax estates after death from 7.2 million to 750k below the value the cost of an average house in the city the tax rate increase on those inherited estates (all monies that could be left to next of kin stocks ,land, houses , business ect)increasing from 16 percent to 50 percent .Why invest in NYC if you have money and a choice, move , between increased taxes and also state “green regulations ” other regulations ,fees ,ect up the wazoo ,also a 30 dollars min .wage .The lawlessness that this summer will see in NYC will be breath taking and will effect the nations midterm election this fall.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) spent nearly $19,000 in campaign cash last year on a shrink who specializes in controversial ketamine therapy.
The socialist lawmaker hired Boston-based Dr. Brian Boyle, the chief psychiatric officer at Stella, a chain of mental health clinics focusing on “novel” therapies popular with Hollywood and Wall Street.
“Her campaign paid Boyle $11,550 in March 2025, another $2,800 in May, and $4,375 in October for a total of $18,725, Federal Election Commission records show.
The expenses were marked as “leadership training and consulting.”
It’s unclear what the sessions consisted of or who participated. Ocasio-Cortez’s campaign did not respond to requests for comment.”

Here in my state a few years ago we had a Muslima run in the Democratic Primary for US Senate. So I requested a Dem ballot and voted against her. Then come the General I voted for my candidate. A lot of Republicans I know did this to skew the Dem primary.
