Useful idiots: Mormon charities have transferred millions to Hamas-linked NGOs

Why the Mormon church is doing this remains a mystery. One clue may come from my 2008 debate with Daniel Peterson, an influential Mormon professor and author of a hagiographical book about Muhammad entitled Muhammad, Prophet of God.

You can see the debate here. The debate topic was “Islam, Threat or Not?,” with Peterson arguing that Islam was not a threat. Peterson was also extremely unkind, rude, condescending and uncharitable both at the time of the debate and afterward, almost in the mold of the hate-filled Muslim debaters of today. He appeared to have an intense personal animus toward me, although we had never had any contact of any kind before the debate, for daring to suggest that maybe Muhammad wasn’t as grand a fellow, and Islam as wonderful a system, as he had made them out to be.

Peterson taught at Brigham Young University and was in effect the Mormon church’s premier in-house authority on Islam; his word carried weight, and he held the view that Islamic terrorism had nothing to do with the true religion of peace. Has his view become that of the Mormon church? Looks like it.

Charities affiliated with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are among the top donors to a dozen charities aligned with foreign Islamist movements, according to a study released last month.

A major Salt Lake City-based Mormon charity, Globus Relief, gave a total of at least $119 million to 10 radical Islamist charities tied to the U.S.-designated terrorist organization Hamas, the investigative report by the Philadelphia-based Middle East Forum think tank found.

The Mormon charity’s top grantee, Islamic Relief, is a leading Islamist charitable institution whose branches have been described by the Dutch and German governments as components of the Muslim Brotherhood movement, the study states.

The investigation notes that Islamic Relief branches have repeatedly partnered with senior Hamas officials in Gaza.

Another Mormon-run charity, Lifting Hands International, has provided nearly $20 million to Helping Hand for Relief and Development (HHRD), the chief U.S. charitable arm of the violent South Asian Islamist movement Jamaat-e-Islami, the study found.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints also finances Islamist groups through its official international humanitarian arm, LDS Charities, the study found….

  1. Both Islam and Mormonism has identical origin stories. Both were given “revelations” by an “angels”. Both Joseph Smith and Mohammed were men of dubious character . Mormonism in it;s early days was called “American Mohammedism”

  2. Makes it sound like the Mormons have abandoned their long held belief that they are one of the lost tribes of Israel. Just another left-wing cult, that supports other cults. Pretty sad stuff. My guess is that deep down inside they believe that Mud Slimes might be easy pickings to proselytizes and have them join the ranks of the LDS. That would be some combination having a towel on their head, wearing the ridiculous underwear of the Mormons. Hard to fix stupid.

    They must not be able to *think*….because those they are feeding, will not stop eating when the muzzies are face to face with their infidel donors.
    If they do not oppose when others are being raped, tortured, and murdered, but instead feed the beast, then they will not escape when the beast turns on them.

    • I have had them tell me that America was to be the place where Christ would set up His Kingdom. Supporting muzzies who wish to make it part of their global set-up is working against their own belief, if they still believe it.

  5. Did you ever think of investigating where the Mormon Funds are invested out of the Cayman Islands?
    The last time I looked, they were five times bigger than the Soros Quantum Funfs.
    What the West does not understand is that in countries like Qatar, the licence to invest is as important as where the money comes from.

  6. All these faith groups – why don’t they simply focus on members of their own faith, and spending their donation money on them, whether it’s religious education, maybe health expensing benefits like Medishare, or other community activities? Why are they paying NGOs, and to do what?

    On a different note, these NGOs will end up making me a fan of something I’m not – Communism. Where all NGOs get banned, and the only organizations allowed are Governmental organizations

I cannot pretend to have known anything about the LDS donating to Muslim organizations but I will tell you that I am very concerned if one of the people I most respect, Glenn Beck, knows about this and is still a Mormon. If anyone knows more about this or that Beck is aware, I would appreciate hearing about it.

I don’t know if the Mormons are more foolish and gullible than other charities but I suspect a lot of them are incredibly naive and stupid when they are doling out their money and plenty of it probably is handed out to our Muslim enemies. It is a bit like these foolish popes who feel that islam is ok. Champions at gullibility.

  11. It’s no surprise at all that Daniel Peterson, an influential Mormon professor and author Daniel Peterson would write favorably towards Islam . For both Islam and Mormonism have much in common.

    To give only a few examples of this the the following below..

    Both of the founders of those religions claimed to be a prophet of God.

    Both of the founders of those religions engaged in the practice of polygamy.
    .

    Both of the founders of those religions gave extra-Biblical revelation, beyond the Bible.

    Both of the founders of those religions deny the Bible based doctrine of the Nature of the Trinity of God.

    Furthermore, ,that the prophet of Mormonism , Joseph Smith had bragged that he is the “Second Muhammad .”

    In addition , the heads of both religions tell their people not to read any tract or any other printed material that puts forth criticism of their religions teaching . This is obviously part of the mind control of the people in each religion.

    This also reveals that the doctrines of those two religions are so weak and fragile that those teaching can’t stand uo under criticism.

  12. Funny, but last time we drove to DC we saw that temple which we mistook as a mosque since it had appeared to us to have 4 spires (minarets?). Only upon returning home did we look up the location online to discover it was The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Oh well, it’s only a matter of time before Muslims take it over. Enjoy it while it lasts Islamophobic deniers..

  13. I’m thinking that the great Mormon angel Moroni has finally made Morons out of some Mormons.

    To be honest, I would much prefer Mormonism over Islam, as far as a fast-growing religious group. I mean, Mormonism strikes me as ridiculously fraudulent, but on the whole relatively innocuous.

    Islam, on the other hand, as everyone on this site knows, is a deadly barbaric murderous regressive death-cult, with no redeeming features whatsoever.

      “The Muslim religion is the fastest-growing religion per capita in the United States, especially among minority races.
      Last month I attended a training. During the training session, there was a presentation by three speakers representing the Roman Catholic, Protestant, and Muslim faiths, who each explained their beliefs.
      I was particularly interested in what the Islamic Imam had to say. The Muslim gave a great presentation of the basics of Islam, complete with a video.
      After the presentations, time was provided for questions and answers. When it was my turn, I directed my question to the Muslim and asked:
      ‘Please, correct me if I’m wrong, but I understand that most Imams and clerics of Islam have declared a holy jihad [Holy war] against the infidels of the world, and that by killing an infidel (which is a command to all Muslims), they are assured of a place in heaven. If that’s the case, can you give me the definition of an infidel?’
      There was no disagreement with my statements and, without hesitation, he replied, ” Nonbelievers.”
      I responded, ‘So, let me make sure I have this straight. All followers of Allah have been commanded to kill everyone who is not of your faith so they can have a place in heaven. Is that correct?’
      The expression on his face changed from one of authority and command to that of a little boy who had just been caught with his hand in the cookie jar.’
      He sheepishly replied, ‘Yes.’
      I then stated, ‘Well, sir, I have a real problem trying to imagine The Pope commanding all Catholics to kill those of your faith or Dr. Stanley ordering all Protestants to do the same in order to guarantee them a place in heaven!’
      The Muslim was speechless.
      I continued, ‘I also have a problem with being your friend when you and your brother clerics are telling your followers to kill me! Let me ask you a question:
      Would you rather have your Allah, who tells you to kill me in order for you to go to heaven, or my Jesus, who tells me to love you because I am going to heaven and He wants you to be there with me?’
      You could have heard a pin drop.
      Needless to say, the organizers and/or promoters of the ‘Diversification’ training seminar were not happy with my way of dealing with the Islamic Imam and exposing the truth about the Muslims’ beliefs.
      In twenty years, there will be enough Muslim voters in the US to elect the President.
      I think everyone in the U.S. should be required to read this, but with the ACLU, there is no way this will be widely publicized, unless each of us sends it on! This is your chance to make a difference.”

The supposed revelations to Mohammed and to Joseph Smith are remarkably similar: angelic communication and supposedly transcribed into a sacred text, the adulation of the founder, both are a garbled misinterpretation of preceding fairhs. The list goes on and on. Is it possible that the smaller cult sees its mirror in the larger and regards actual Christianity and Judaism as enemies to destroy ?

    • Joseph Smith specifically compared himself to “Prophet” Muhammed.

  16. The similarities between LDS and Islam have always intrigued me. I think the same demon who taught Muhammad also taught Joseph Smith.
