On Tuesday evening, President Donald Trump will deliver his State of the Union address. The Democrats have tabbed Virginia Gov. Abigail Spanberger to give their response from the dark side, and the choice is highly significant. Spanberger has been Virginia’s governor for just over a month, and in that time she has hit the ground running with a raft of far-left, authoritarian policies that will make the people of Virginia more unsafe, poorer, and less able to do anything about it by voting her and her henchmen out of office. The national Democrat Party, in giving her this platform, has endorsed what Spanberger has done, and in so doing, given us a clear indication yet again of what it really stands for.
The party comrades do all they can to obscure that reality. Spanberger will be engaging in that deception when she delivers her speech, as she plans to give it from Colonial Williamsburg, a place that symbolizes essentially the opposite of what today’s Democrat Party is all about, and that’s likely why it was chosen: to throw people off the scent.
Spanberger’s explanation for her speech’s locale is a masterpiece of deflection and deception: “Since the people of the Virginia Colony first gathered to take on the extraordinary task of governing themselves,” she said, “Williamsburg has served as a testament to the power of ordinary citizens to shape the future of our nation, demand better from our government, and pursue a more perfect union for all. On Tuesday, I look forward to joining Virginians in this historic place to lay out the next chapter of our story — a clear vision for a stronger, safer, and more affordable future for every American who calls our nation home.”
The grim reality for Virginians is that Spanberger has already made it clear that she is not in the least interested in making them safer or their lives more affordable. On the contrary: Virginia’s WJLA reported on Jan. 30 that “despite campaigning on making life more affordable for Virginians, Democratic lawmakers in Richmond introduced more than 50 new taxes and tax increases this month during the General Assembly session. Taxes on concerts, counseling, electric leaf blowers, Amazon deliveries, Door Dash, Uber Eats, and guns and ammunition are among a flood of proposals the Democratic majority in the Virginia General Assembly introduced.”
Safer? No, not that either. The New York Post reported on Jan. 24 that “within days of Democratic Gov. Abigail Spanberger being sworn in, members of her party introduced a flurry of amendments looking to end mandatory minimum sentences for various crimes within the state. According to Jason Miyares, the former Republican attorney general, House Bill 863 includes proposals to effectively eliminate minimum sentencing for manslaughter, rape, possession and distribution of child pornography, assaulting a law enforcement officer and other repeat violent felonies. Additionally, Democrats are also looking to remove the mandatory five-day minimum sentence for certain first-time DUI offenders.” What could possibly go wrong?
In addition to all that, of course, as The Hill reported on Feb. 5, “state agencies in Virginia will no longer enter cooperation agreements with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), according to an executive order from Gov. Abigail Spanberger (D).”
Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn said it: “A Communist system can be recognized by the fact that it spares the criminals and criminalizes the political opponent.” On this, the Democrats’ record of trying to frame President Trump for a multitude of crimes speaks for itself, and in Virginia, the situation is even worse. Jay Jones, the new attorney general of Virginia, was revealed during his campaign to have written that he wished a House Republican colleague would get “two bullets to the head,” and that the same colleague’s wife would watch their child die in her arms, for “only when people feel pain personally do they move on policy.”
Instead of condemning Jones and dropping him as a candidate, Virginia Democrats lined up to reaffirm their support for him, and he won a comfortable victory over his Republican rival. Abigail Spanberger, who ran successfully for the Virginia gubernatorial office at the same time, remained stubbornly mum as her Republican challenger, Winsome Earle-Sears, repeatedly asked her to repudiate Jones.
And now Spanberger has been chosen to deliver the Democrats’ response to Trump’s State of the Union address on Tuesday night. The Democrats have thus made it clear: they’re Communists, sparing the criminals, criminalizing (or worse) their opposition, and rewarding those who, such as Spanberger, make their sinister policies a reality. She could conceivably be their vice presidential or even presidential candidate in 2028. Dark days are ahead indeed.

Virginia Gov. Abigail Spanberger stated she was former CIA. Is the CIA corrupted with communists who are now infiltrating state governments?
Following the failed 1961 Bay of Pigs invasion, President John F. Kennedy reportedly vowed to “splinter the CIA into a thousand pieces and scatter it into the winds.” Too bad he didn’t succeed!

Many people are against mandatory minimum sentences. That doesn’t make them “Communists”.
If trying to criminalize political opponents makes one a Communist then I guess Donald J. Trump would qualify.
Wellington says
The totality of what Spanberger has done is Far Left loony tune crap. If you care not to call it Communist, fine, but it’s still nutso Leftist stuff.
As for Trump criminalizing political opponents, this is blatantly wrong. What Trump’s DOJ has done is go after people like Fanni Willis and Jack Smith who massively abused the law in their quest to destroy Trump. You got things here ass-backwards again, Rarely.
WPM says
How has Trump “criminalize” political opponents? Did he try to lock up Hillary after the 2016 election? Did he accuse his political opponents of sleeping with Russian hookers in Moscow? Did he get some crazy hag to accuse his political opponents of sexual assaulting her sometime between the fall of 1995 and the spring of 1996 the time of day what day of the week it was ,what year or season it was is a mystery over 25 years after the Fact? No witnesses or facts backing up her story all in a high end midtown Manhattan department store during business hours ? Did he try to bring charges against his political opponents for taking out a business bank loan using his property as collator and paying it back on time with interest? He was put on trial for the “crime” of adultery for two consenting adults and having the woman involved sign and paid off in a non-disclosure form ?How many celebrities and elected officials have used this legal action to save their career both democrats and republicans.
Wellington says
Rarely, WPM, being the Leftist that he is, engages in classic projection quite often. What he accuses the “other side” of doing, his “side” does. I know you know this but I thought I’d state it for the record nonetheless because pointing out the idiocies and hypocrisies of Leftism should be done regularly and with vigor lest the Left thinks that we don’t know just how foolish and destructive they are.

When the President asked all in the room to stand if they believe their job is to protect American citizens, all of the dems remained seated.
and then chuckie schumer made excuses for that demonstration of their support for illegals and criminal illegals
Since the new AG of VA is all for bullets to the head and dead babies, he should just go on and get himself a little carpet and he and spanburger can kneel down, backsides saluting satan and they will ‘fit right in’ with the other side of evil..islime.
Wellington says
To this day, somehistory, I fear not enough Americans realize how inimical to the continuation of America the Democratic Party has become. And I state this as no big fan of the Republican Party but at least it has not gone into some twilight zone where reality and non-reality can no longer be distinguished. Frankly, I know of no greater enemy to America, not Islam, not China, not Russia, not the Latin American drug cartels, et al. that is presently a greater enemy to what the Founding Fathers established than the modern Democratic Party.

Wellington, it’s rather like the jury in the OJ trial….all of the evidence showing his guilt was there, but they chose to ignore it and go wrong on purpose.
Many see what they want to see. And that is a sad Truth.

Comrade spamburger leutenient governor is a female Moslem jihadi that is a shite from the same Islamic sect as mamdani that was started 500 years ago in Hyderabad India. Her boss is khomeni in Iran.
࿗Infidel࿘ says
That sect wasn’t started in Hyderabad. There was a shi’a sultanate, which seemed to be more Ismailiya than the Imamiyeh (Twelver) sect that Mamdani and the Ayatollahs belong to. But Hyderabad later got a sunni ruler in the Nizam. So a muslim from Hyderabad could be of either sect – sunni or shi’a

“Virginia murder suspect in bus stop stabbing had lengthy criminal history, multiple dropped charges”
Note his ugly name…..
“A Virginia murder suspect accused of fatally stabbing a woman at a bus stop earlier this week has a lengthy criminal history filled with multiple arrests, but was let back onto the streets nearly every time.
Abdul Jalloh, 32, is charged with the Monday night killing of Stephanie Minter, 41, of Fredericksburg, at a bus stop shelter, the Fairfax County Police Department said.
Minter was found by officers with stab wounds to her upper body and pronounced dead at the scene, police said. ”
“Authorities were still trying to determine a motive for the killing and what led to the deadly stabbing.
A search of online court records revealed Jalloh has more than a dozen arrests in northern Virginia, including on charges of petty larceny and malicious wounding.
In most of the cases, prosecutors dropped the charges, FOX D.C. reported. ”
“Laura Birnbaum, the chief of staff for Fairfax County Commonwealth’s Attorney Steve Descano, said Jalloh was known to the district attorney’s office and was “acutely aware of the risk he posed to the community.”
