Spain: Socialists worked with Iran-funded Podemos party in giving mass amnesty to 500,000 mostly Muslim migrants

As Trump blinks before the mullahs, the mullahs continue their efforts to subvert and destroy the West. It is unclear whether or not the Islamic regime in Iran is still funding Podemos, but the fact that it ever did so is telling. Podemos, the leftist party that emerged as the major success story in last month’s indecisive Spanish general election, has been accused of receiving illicit funding from the Iranian government.

The party, which campaigned on a platform of combatting corruption and slowing the pace of crippling austerity, is reported to be under investigation by a division of the Spanish police that has previously looked into graft allegations against other political parties.

According to the El Confidencial news website, the party received more than €5m (£3.8m) through a Spanish television station, Hispan TV, which is operated by an Iranian businessman, Mahmoud Alizadeh Azimi, and financed by the Iranian government.

The website alleges that the money was paid by the Iranian businessman through a series of different countries, and via inflated invoices issued by Podemos for appearances by Pablo Iglesias, the leader of the party. Mr Iglesias has served as the host of a political talk show, Fort Apache, which is broadcast on the station. Mr Iglesias said he would be delighted to speak to officials at the Udef about the matter.

The reports appear to have been timed to cause maximum damage to the party, coming on the first day the Spanish parliament reconvened after the election.

It is illegal for Spanish parties to receive money from foreign governments. The allegations are potentially damaging for Podemos. Not only has the party tirelessly highlighted the corruption of its political opponents, but Spain’s politicians could face another general election after last month’s inconclusive vote. Podemos won 69 seats, finishing third, but i neither of the traditional big parties, the governing centre-right Popular Party (PP), and the leftist PSOE, won enough seats to form a majority in the 350-seat chamber….

Whether or not the Islamic Republic is funding Podemos now, the Spanish left is energetically facilitating the Islamization of Spain, and of Europe as a whole:

Spain’s struggling socialist Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez has agreed with the far left to push through a mass amnesty for around 500,000 illegal immigrants by royal decree, bypassing parliament and avoiding any binding vote in Congress.

The extraordinary regularization, negotiated between Sánchez’s Socialist Party (PSOE) and the far-left Podemos, is due to be approved by the Council of Ministers on Tuesday. By using a royal decree, the government can impose the measure directly, despite the fact that an almost identical proposal has been stalled in parliament for more than a year due to a lack of majority support.

Under the agreement, illegal migrants who can prove they were in Spain before Dec. 31, 2025, and have remained in the country for at least five months will be eligible for provisional residence and work permits, provided they have no serious criminal record. The moment an application is filed, any deportation or return proceedings will be suspended. If approved, applicants will receive a one-year residence permit, eligible for renewal. Podemos estimates that more than half a million people will benefit.

Podemos figures have openly celebrated the move. As cited by El País, Irene Montero, former equality minister and now an MEP, described the amnesty as an “urgent measure of social justice” and said her party would ensure the process is “swift.” She claimed the regularization was necessary to protect migrants from what she described as “racist violence” and framed the policy as the granting of rights to people allegedly denied them through “institutional racism.”

The government argues that the decree merely provides legal certainty for an “existing social reality.” Critics, however, have labeled the move undemocratic and catastrophic for the message it sends to illegal immigrants who are still arriving in large numbers.

The amnesty mirrors a Popular Legislative Initiative backed by more than 700,000 signatures, but that proposal has been blocked in Congress for over a year because it lacks sufficient support. Rather than negotiate or abandon it, the executive has opted to force it through without parliamentary oversight….
