Everyone by now knows, or should know, that Hamas is the Palestinian branch of the Muslim Brotherhood. The 1988 Hamas Charter says: “The Islamic Resistance Movement is one of the wings of Moslem Brotherhood in Palestine. Moslem Brotherhood Movement is a universal organization which constitutes the largest Islamic movement in modern times. It is characterised by its deep understanding, accurate comprehension and its complete embrace of all Islamic concepts of all aspects of life, culture, creed, politics, economics, education, society, justice and judgement, the spreading of Islam, education, art, information, science of the occult and conversion to Islam.”

In his December 2, 2025 column in the London-based daily Al-Sharq Al-Awsat, Lebanese journalist Nadim Koteich responded to U.S. President Trump’s executive order seeking to designate certain chapters of the Muslim Brotherhood (MB) as terrorist organizations. Highlighting the connection between this executive order and the October 7 attack perpetrated by Hamas, which is the Palestinian branch of the MB, Koteich writes that “Operation Al-Aqsa Flood,” as Hamas calls the attack, did not harm only Israel. Rather, it harmed the entire region, which was heading towards normalization agreements and collaborations, and thus “shattered the hope” for regional peace and strengthened the movements of political Islam (i.e., the MB) and their efforts to incite against and weaken the Arab nation states. As examples of this, Koteich presents Jordan, which recently uncovered an MB terror infrastructure that fought the country from within, as well as other Arab countries that are targets for MB incitement and accusations of treason. The MB, he writes, does not really want to save the Palestinians, but is merely using their cause to advance its objectives and wage a battle against the Arab nations states, in collaboration with the resistance axis, led by Iran.
The following are translated excerpts from his article:
“President Trump’s executive order designating the branches of the MB movement in Egypt, Jordan and Lebanon as terrorist organizations marked the end of a chapter, one that the Western capitals have been refusing to end for decades. The order, which officially drew a connection between the parent organization and its armed branches, is no more than a belated recognition of what the region already knows and has been constantly saying to the world: that the MB is not a reform movement misunderstood by the Arab regimes, but rather a cross-border organization that, along with its allies, uses chaos as a survival strategy and threatens the very foundations of the nation-states in the Arab and Muslim world.
“The important aspect of Trump’s decision is its timing, ahead of the second anniversary of the earth-shattering [outbreak of] the Gaza war and the emergence of the far-reaching region-wide consequences of [Operation] Al-Aqsa Flood – especially the undermining of the possibility of comprehensive regional peace, which the American administration is [now] trying to revive…
The inconvenient truth is that the Palestinian jihad is the central cause of the Muslim ummah, as the Organization of Islamic Cooperation has declared; as far back as 1988, it recognized Palestine as an independent state. The OIC also recognized East Jerusalem as the capital of the “State of Palestine” in 2017. While Lebanese journalist Nadim Koteich says the obvious, that Hamas is the Palestinian branch of the Muslim Brotherhood, he also goes on to say that it’s waging battle not just against Israel, but against Arab states. Yet although the world is very much aware of Muslim schisms which have lead to Muslims killing Muslims in droves, Arab states including Qatar and Saudi Arabia, as well as Muslim states such as Turkey, have embraced Hamas.
Those same Arab countries Koteich highlights as adversely affected by Hamas are the very same ones who continue to condemn Israel today and accuse it of genocide. Even the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement claiming that the “Israeli occupation fully responsible for the ongoing genocide and the unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe taking place in the Gaza Strip.” In reality, there is and was no genocide, and it isn’t remotely accurate to even compare the harm to Arab countries to the damage done to Israel on October 7. There is absolutely no comparison, not to mention that the Palestinian chant and commitment to “globalize the intifada” and push “resistance” (from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea) has led to a sharp rise in global antisemitism. Muslims continuously play the victim card, which steers naive Westerners away from the truth and confuses the discourse. If anything, Hamas has exposed what the Muslim world was hiding.
Hamas operatives have been waging war against Israel and the West for decades. Some have tried to diminish the influence of Hamas and its associates in the Islamic world, but Hamas has fully outed the Islamic stealth agenda as has no other group. The agenda is global conquest for Islam, as emphasized in Jihad is the Way by Mustafa Mashhur, leader of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt from 1996 to 2002.
Koteich, however, is correct that Hamas does not care about Palestinians. But neither does the Muslim Brotherhood, at least not in the way that Westerners understand “care.” Since “martyrdom” is the highest calling in Islam, this is the key Palestinian mission, as shown in the Palestinian Authority’s pay-for-slay program (a.k.a. the “martyrs’ fund”). The mission is to wipe out the Jewish state.

So they have forgotten a part of what they were reminded of, so we have stirred up ENMITY and HATRED among them until the resurrection day.
