Robert Spencer Drops Bombshell Testimony in Congress – Sharia’s Stealth Invasion Exposed

On February 10, 2026, Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX), Chairman of the House Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution and Limited Government, convened a critically important hearing titled:

“Sharia-Free America: Why Political Islam & Sharia Law Are Incompatible with the U.S. Constitution.”

In powerful testimony, Robert Spencer—founder of Jihad Watch, author of more than 60 books, and one of the most courageous voices exposing the realities of political Islam—delivered a clear, unflinching message:

Sharia law and the principles enshrined in the U.S. Constitution are fundamentally incompatible. Unless Congress and the American people confront this reality head-on, the incremental advance of political Islam will continue to erode our constitutional freedoms.

Rep. Roy’s decision to hold this hearing represents real leadership. For years, discussion of these issues has been suppressed through intimidation, smears, and pressure from Islamist advocacy groups. This hearing placed the truth on the official congressional record.

Robert Spencer has paid a heavy personal price for his work. He has survived credible assassination attempts—including a poisoning in Iceland and a near-mass shooting at a 2015 event in Garland, Texas—while enduring relentless defamation campaigns, particularly from CAIR (an organization with documented ties to Hamas). Despite it all, he has never retreated.

I have watched him stand firm through every attack, always focused on waking people up to the danger. When my own family and team were targeted by jihadist threats and smears, Robert was among the first to speak out in our defense. That kind of loyalty and courage is rare.

In his five-minute opening statement, Robert dismantled the frequently repeated claim—promoted by CAIR and others—that Sharia is merely a personal religious code comparable to Catholic canon law or Jewish halacha.

 

He demonstrated, using authoritative Islamic sources such as Reliance of the Traveller (endorsed by Al-Azhar University scholars in Cairo), that Sharia is a comprehensive political-legal system that mandates:

Jihad as a communal obligation to wage war against non-Muslims until Islamic rule is established (not merely defensive or spiritual struggle).

Institutionalized discrimination against non-Muslims, including the humiliating jizya tax (Quran 9:29), severe restrictions on non-Muslim houses of worship, prohibitions on public displays of non-Islamic faith, exclusion from positions of authority over Muslims, and death penalties for blasphemy or criticism of Islam.

Direct violations of core American rights, including freedom of speech (blasphemy punishments), religious equality (religious supremacy), and protection from domestic violence (Quran 4:34). Migration to non-Muslim lands to spread Sharia is explicitly encouraged and rewarded (Quran 4:100).

Robert directly addressed recent events, such as the Keller, Texas city council’s decision in January 2026 to withdraw an anti-Sharia resolution after pressure from CAIR.

He rejected the group’s attempt to equate Sharia with personal religious observance, stating plainly:

“If that were really all Sharia was about, no reasonable person would have a problem with it.”

But it is not. It is a total system that institutionalizes discrimination, denies equal rights, and sanctions violence in critical areas.

He pointed to the United Kingdom as a cautionary example, where Sharia councils have urged authorities to drop criminal domestic abuse cases involving Muslim men in favor of “divine” mediation—placing religious law above secular justice. Similar patterns are already visible in parts of the United States.

This hearing is not the end of the fight; it is only the beginning.

It is the fruit of years of relentless, often dangerous work by so many brave souls: the tireless investigations of RAIR Foundation, the unbreakable courage of survivors of grooming gangs and Islamic persecution, and the unwavering commitment of truth-tellers who have risked—and in some cases nearly lost—their lives to expose the threat of political Islam.

This moment belongs to them.

And the fight ahead belongs to all of us.

We now have a path forward:

Prohibit the infiltration of Sharia-based norms into American institutions.

Designate the Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist organization.

End the special deference given to CAIR and similar groups that have documented ties to designated terrorist entities.

The Constitution must be protected from any supremacist ideology that seeks to supplant it. Silence and appeasement only embolden those who wish to replace our system of self-government with one rooted in Sharia.

I am deeply grateful to Rep. Chip Roy for his courage in holding this hearing, and to Robert Spencer for continuing to speak truth even at great personal cost.

This is a turning point. The truth is now part of the congressional record. The American people—and freedom-loving people everywhere—deserve to know what is at stake.

We will not stop.

  4. Its about time Spencer comes out on the book Reliance of the Traveller, I have stated that book for years that people should read it to learn what Islam truly is.

      I would not pay a Muzzie publisher a cent to buy that book!

      The work was first translated into English in 1991, but that translation left out some of its contents, particularly the treatment of slaves as inanimate objects (where in Sunni Islam, it is permissible to murder one’s slave with impunity), and that Jews and Christians must wear bells around their necks.

    • One copout that mohammedan apologists will likely have is that this book is a guidebook for those who follow the shafi’i school of islamic jurisprudence. Which would be Egypt, Sudan, Somalia, Yemen, Indonesia, Malaysia and Brunei

      Whereas the bulk of muslims seem to be more from the Hanafi school – Turkey, Syria, Iraq, the -stans, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh. So one would have to demonstrate that this book is a major guidebook for Hanafi doctrinaires as well

I applaud you for this, and you are without doubt an extremely courageous man. I thank you and your colleagues for educating us all. I have personally learnt so much from this site . We are all on the same page against this battle of evil and Goodness, and in the end I have no doubt we will prevail.

  7. People like Raskin and his fellow travelers never cease to amaze me in their abject ignorance regarding the real threat of Islam, kinda like many did not see the threat of Hitler in the 1920s. Robert set forth facts about the actual beliefs of Islam and what motivates many of them, yet Raskin et al. continue to promote the nonsense notion that actions of Muslims they might disagree with are basically the same kinds of abuses engaged in by radicals of all other religions. Absolutely no recognition that the much smaller numbers of radicals in other religions (nowhere near the numbers suggested by the dishonest Raskin) are outliers and condemned by what their religion teaches whereas the most violent of Muslims are simply carrying out mainstream Islamic doctrine and are praised and encouraged to continue so engaging.

      • No caveat needed. I point out how it is Raskin who referred to them as radicals in his bogus comparison to other alleged radicals from other religions. Then I specifically mention that the most violent of Muslims are carrying out mainstream Islamic doctrine. Indeed, they are not radicals. In fact, they are simply the most fervent of Muslims.

        I actually wish that Robert would have been able to take Raskin et al. even more to task on this in order to demonstrate the absurdity of the comparison, because that is still what many like Raskin and his fellow travelers promote under the false notion that Islam is a religion of peace, and the violence arising out of it is only committed by extremists. If I had my wish, Robert and/or anyone else would have skewered Raskin by illustrating that his comparison is absurd on its face and presents a demonstrably false picture of Islam that contributes to malevolent Islamic goals.

        Still, in such a limited setting, Robert did a great job dealing with the obtuse deniers and gaslighting Islamo-apologists on the democrat side.

When Robert Spencer spoke before Congress, he is a clear reminder that there is the sly and subtle as well as disingenuous non-violent methods of the goal of advancement of Islam with its Sharia in the United States by the means what is known and called the “Stealth jihad.” By this technique the Muslims who are the stealth jihadists are able to infiltrate the United States, and gradually, “inch by inch” and likewise “step by step.”

    Further, archive progression for their Islamic agenda for the advancement of Islam and to establish Sharia in the United States in place of the US Constitution.

    To put this in another way, with America they would like to, if they can, enact Sharia as the law land instead of the US Constitution. Realistic or not, this is their objective.

    To this end the stealth jihadists will and do use the Islamic of Taqiyya, which the modus operandi of speaks and printing lies that are very deceptive.

    As explained in a more detail by a former Muslim and Hezbollah member who now a Christian. In his book he reveals” Lying , treachery and deception became Islam’s key tactics in conquering others.

    Those tactics are gathered in a doctrinal statement called “Taqiyya” which is one of the most effective arms for the spread of Islam. It means “Holy Deception” which means the use of every lie you can in order to spread Islam or to win the war against the enemy.” [1]

  9. Robert Spencer is right on the mark when he revealed information concerning the truth of the incomparably of Sharia and the US Constitution. this is something that the American public needs to know about.

    Likewise., Americans should be aware of those stealth jihad- minded Muslims who are living in the United States ,and attempt to have Sharia law enacted in this country. Those facts that this is the United States, and has something that is far better than Sharia law. It’s the US Constitution. This is America, not Saudi Arabia or Iran.

    As the former US President, Theodore Roosevelt, had well-spoken when he declared in a speech “There can be no fifty-fifty Americanism in this country. There is only room here for only hundred percent Americanism, only for those who are Americans and nothing else.”

    Further, one subject about this is that stealth jihadists “are attempting to establish Sharia-based institutions in the U.S. This of course, is called is called the “stealth jihad” which is which by insidious infiltrate o the United States government both dangerously subversive to the US Constitution which Muslim who are engaging in the stealth jihad want to replace the US Constitution with Islam’s Sharia.

    This, in some ways, is very similar to the instruction printed in the book entitled THE ART OF WAR by Sun Tzu. Which reads, “At first, then, exhibit the coyness of a maiden, until the enemy gives you an opening; afterwards emulate the rapidity of a running hare, and it will be too late for the enemy to opposes you”

    Furthermore, those stealth jihadists with their goal the furtherance of Sharia in the United States. one misconception that many Americans have is that of the tern used in the West, which is “political Islam.” That term is nonsensical and redundant as well as unknown in the Islamic world.
    Therefore, it needs to be made clear as to why that Western term is nonsensical and redundant. As explained by two statements.

    First, as for that term being nonsensical one devout Muslim who, truly, proclaimed “Islam is Islam.”

    Second. as for that term being redundant, has been well explained by none other Ayatollah Khomeini who declared” All Islam is politics.” [1]

  10. Man. This stuff will not win us any votes I’ll tell u that right now. I don’t want any more momentum toward Dems, this will be all presented as religious persecution. Just like the ice raids are falsely presented.

    Trump sits at 36 percent, doing an amazing job by the way.

    • Trump’s numbers won’t start moving up until the employment numbers improve: right now, it’s pretty ugly, although not due to any government policies. It’s just that companies can’t figure out how much to rely on AI, and a lot of them are just destroying themselves by letting go of their most experienced. Also, it’s one of the ugliest markets for new entrants into the job market, since those jobs are the easiest to automate. Given these pressures on the economy, I think anybody would suffer badly in the polls

      I also think that Trump monkeying around w/ tariffs has been a bad move. Don’t get me wrong: I too like tariffs, and would like to see them completely replace the various taxes, maybe pegged at 10-15%. But they need to be stable, and predictable. Instead, POTUS treats them as his ultimate weapon, threatening to hike them on countries – both friends and foes. When foreign companies can no longer plan their exports to the US due to this, they look at other markets instead. So even if we ultimately stabilize those tariff rates, we won’t see imports coming to us at the same prices we saw even in 2017-2020

      Aside from all that, one more thing that’s hurting us this time, which it didn’t even in 2024, has been the rise of antisemitism on the Right and the resultant split in the party b/w the anti-Israel faction vs those who do not hate Israel. I have a bad feeling about this year that it’ll come back to bite us. Also, if this Iran saga isn’t done by then, that too will be pretty ugly. Unlike in Trump 45 where he went by his instincts, this time, he seems only too willing to outsource foreign policy decision-making to countries like Qatar and Turkey, who are at best our adversaries

      What Robert is doing – if these congressmen transmit that to their constituents – can work in galvanizing anti-islamic votes in their districts. Hopefully, those trends spread elsewhere, until muslims find out that they can no longer hijack the GOP, courtesy the Tuckers and Fuentes’ of the world

  11. Robert Spencer is a Christian, in many ways he’s speaking for God our Father, Jesus our Lord and Savior, and the Holy Ghost. He’s also speaking for American’s who know little about Islam and America as a country, as Islam is our worst enemy. I pray for Robert almost nightly, pray for Dr.Bill Warner, Peter Hammond, John Guandolo, Pamela Geller and Brigette Gabriel. All are soldiers for the USA, it will take an honest, determined, tenacious team to defeat Satan. Tulsi Gabbard is the only person in the Trump administration to speak out against the evil endeavors of Islam. Governor Abbott/TX is taking a leading role to stop the Islamic assault on Texas territory. Governor DeSantis is also a leader against Islam in America. Frank Gaffney has a podcast/guests called Securing America. Two major topics are Communism and Islamism in America, I recommend Frank Gaffney.

  12. I am usually an optimist at heart. However, i believe the above is too little too late. Our government had plenty of opportunities to keep Islam from invading our land, but ignorance and stupidity abounds in the Swamp. Muslims are being used as a distraction for the main objective to genocide Americans. They are one of many fools being used for that purpose. The inhabitants of the Swamp cannot resist the evil payoffs. We the People have been betrayed. I believe this will end violently and bloody. The best we can do now is unit with our local communities to survive the storm ahead. DO NOT RELY ON ANY FEDERSL AGENCY FOR HELP. THEY ARE THE PROBLEM! Pray for peace but be prepared for war which is here and now.

        I just want a simple question answered. If Islam is true, and they have sharia in multiple country, then why don’t Islam move there , why are they seeking here? Asylum sneakers walk across multiple sharia laws to get to the west, to mooch and infest.

        Why would you want to conquer a place like ours with a sharia, which you could have already had a chance to live in sharia? Erdogan is sharia , Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan why didn’t u go over there?

I think that trying to wake people in all our countries up to what an evil ideology Islam is is just about the most important work that anyone can do so I applaud Robert Spencer and the other people on that list of truth tellers. All our countries will face civil wars if we keep letting Muslims in.

This work by Chip Roy is a good example of the essential checks and balances that the 2 parties are supposed to provide each other. Dems need to take this information in, but I’m afraid they won’t because of their lingering confusion about other longstanding disputes….

    No sharia ever. We need to move beyond those old superstitious controlling systems. Faith in God is actually quite simple and doesn’t require ritualistic behavior at all!

  22. Since 2010 in Maine, we’ve attempted to pass 3 anti-Sharia as well as 2 anti-FGM bills in the legislature. They all failed. Maybe people are finally waking up and passage is possible but we’ll have to expunge all the useful idiot apologists for Islam first.

  26. Some may view this as nitpicking but terminology matters and is important. It’s not called “Sharia Law.” It’s SHARIA, period. Sharia = Islamic Law.

    I have a disturbed feeling that a number of these people know that but hide behind the “Sharia Law” phrase as opposed to saying ISLAMIC LAW because they feel it’s too provocative. I’m guessing they think Sharia is too obscure and Islamic Law is too provocative. I hope I’m wrong and it’s just ignorance.
