Ali previously worked as the community affairs director for the Council on American-Islamic Relations, which blamed Israel for Oct. 7 and has a long history of anti-Israel statements. She also served as the advocacy director at the Arab American Association of New York and chief of staff to former City Council Speaker Adrienne Adams.
Ali was also the first Muslim woman to serve as the City Council’s first deputy chief of staff and has long been involved in Muslim-American organizations, including service on the Muslim Democratic Club of New York board alongside Mamdani….

I completely agree, Infidel, that, pursuant to Article VI, federal law is “the supreme Law of the Land” but this has not stopped stupid and rogue states like Minnesota, Oregon, California and Massachusetts from erecting so-called sanctuary havens state-wide, and ditto for many blue cities like Philadelphia, Minneapolis and Boston.
In brief, you recited the correct law, but to date those political entities, whether entire states or regional municipalities, have refused to abide by such law. So the key issue here is what is to be done? And made all the worse in our era because so much of the American judiciary, whether at the federal or state level, has become woeful beyond all measure. One problem with sanctuary cities is sanctuary criminals can go out of the sanctuary city to commit crimes in non-sanctuary cities and communities. No wonder the crime rates are high. The city, county and states don’t follow the laws why should anyone else. If I own property in a residential area and open a hardware store on my property these same political leaders of sanctuary cities will close me down because it violates zoning codes. Why is that more important than open borders and illegal migrants?
