    The CIA believed that IRGC hard liners would take over if Khomeini were killed, but that scenario was hypothesized a while back and did not account for senior IRGC hard liners also being killed. When Israel eliminated his compound, many of the potential ones to take over were also killed. His son that Khomeini himself designated as his replacement may be in line. But I hope all these potential replacements remember what happened to Nasrallah’s replacement within a few days.

    • One of the reports said that his son has also been killed. But son aside, a lot of top members of the Iranian government have also been killed in these strikes

      Also, due to Iranian missiles hitting targets in the Gulf, such as a high-rise residence in Bahrein, Dubai Airport as well as Doha, now the Gulf countries – incapable of fighting their own war – don’t want us to stop

      But we should target all members of the regime we can find, then let Reza Pahlavi return to Iran and organize the transition

  7. Yeah, Iran International seems to have confirmed this news. I had my doubts about it given that he was thought to be hiding in his hometown of Mashhed, but if they’ve confirmed it, it is good news

    I think this regime is over. I do hope they’ve gotten both his sons – one is supposed to be his successor, while another is said to be a more expendable emissary b/w him and other members of the regime. At any rate, even if they’re alive, I doubt that they have as tight a psychological grip on members of the regime like their father did

  11. One thing is for sure, which is the news of the death of Khamenei will cause many Iranians are both happy and relieved about the news that Khamenei is now dead.

    As The Bible teaches” When the wicked perish there are shouts of joy.” Proverbs11:10. What a brutal, cruel and oppressive tyrant that Khamenei was. What a heinously oppressive and wicked man that dictator was. As the Bible teaches “All the days of the oppressed are wretched…” Proverbs 15:15. Likewise, the Bible teaches in Proverbs 29:2. “When the wicked rule, the people groan.”

    Therefore, let the name of that murderously cruel brutal dictator rot in the annals of history. For the Bible also predicts “The name of the wicked will rot.” Proverbs 10:7. [N.I.V.]

    When the dust settles the Iranian people will have to chose a different government, will it still keep Islam meaning will they still submit to its evil ways or will they chose a more western form of government that might include a different form of religion instead of a theocracy.

    • Reza Pahlavi has already said that his transition would be a secular & democratic setup. I just hope that the MEK isn’t installed to power, otherwise any gains that the Iranians hoped for would be lost

    • James, not celebrating is in line with the Bible Proverb. But, we can be glad that he is no longer doing evil, encouraging evil, and having other people put to death.

    • Same here. Although I’m saddened at the thousands of Iranians killed this year while expecting a military intervention to happen after Trump’s initial statement warning the regime

  19. Ayatollah Khamenei received an end better than he deserved. Hanging from a crane would have been more symbolic of what he was – a devil playing god, caught in his own snare.

    The Mullahs and the IRGC will be scrambling to reconstitute power and keep their wealth vacuum running in the citizen’s pockets – all in the name of Allah, of course.

    Now the citizens will have a choice. What will they choose? Comfort in mindless ritual or the opportunity to become their greatest potential?

    • Actually no. Good as due process may have sounded, or an execution, such a process would have been long drawn out. It’s best that he got taken out on day 1
