When Tucker Carlson asked U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee if Israel had a right to the land described in the Bible as stretching from the Nile to the Euphrates, Huckabee responded, “It would be fine if they took it all.” The area from the Nile to the Euphrates includes modern-day Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, parts of Egypt and Saudi Arabia. Yet everyone knows that Israel will not attempt to take what is truly theirs, and that it was Islamic jihadis who conquered the Middle East by the sword, subjugating or killing the people who were native to the land.
Huckabee added that “Israel was not seeking to do so” — meaning to conquer from the Nile to the Euphrates — and said that in reality, it is “asking to at least take the land that they now occupy” to protect its people. He acknowledged the obvious. Israel has no choice but to manage the jihad terror in Judea and Samaria, as well as in Gaza. But Arab Muslim states nevertheless melted down afterward.
When the Organization of Islamic Cooperation declared that the Palestinian cause was central to the Muslim ummah, it was serious. Its declaration is being put to the test as Israel continues to take necessary actions to survive, given ongoing jihad terror threats in Judea and Samaria and in Gaza.
As long as any Palestinian body is in any control over these regions, Israel is at risk.
The Palestinian “resistance” means the imperative to obliterate Israel “from the River to the Sea.” It is not possible to find a peaceful solution to any situation when one side relentlessly aims for the other’s destruction.
Jordan is widely considered to be moderate, and it is moderate by comparison to the likes of Iran, Pakistan, and Afghanistan, but it is not so moderate in other ways; it is, after all, a member of the OIC.

Jordanian parliament voted unanimously to remove the name Israel from the minutes of the meeting in a symbolic protest against the US ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee’s comments during an interview with the conservative commentator Tucker Carlson. Jordanian MP Hail Ayash, who said that the Jewish state “represents an enemy to every Jordanian”.
Jordanian Parliament speaker Mazen al-Qadi said Huckabee’s comments, which allegedly justified Israeli control over the “Arab lands”, are a violation of international law and the UN charter. “These statements are a blatant provocation and a serious breach of state sovereignty,” said Qadi. He added that the West Bank and Gaza Strip are Palestinian territories and claims of divine right for the Jewish people are “unacceptable and undermine prospects for a just, two-state solution,” according to anti-Zionist outlet Roya News.
Another MP at the Jordanian parliament, Ali Khalaileh, urged the summoning of the US ambassador to Jordan, James Holtsnider, seek clarification on the statement of Mike Huckabee. While I think Huckabee’s response was fine as an individual, I do think that as a diplomat, he may have walked into trouble by seemingly stating US policy, when we know that Trump has been restraining Israel from annexing Judea and Samaria, let alone Jordan, west Iraq or eastern Egypt. Baghdad, Amman and Cairo can take umbrage to his statement, claiming that it would be US policy to look the other way if that were to happen. Instead, he could have told Tucker what I said above – to not project what the Arabs did over centuries on to the Israelis

Actually, TransJordan was what Jordan was called from 1921 to 1946. It became Jordan in 1949, after “annexing” Judea and Samaria. Interesting naming: one would have thought that “Trans” meant Jordan on both sides of the river, while just Jordan would have been the de-facto borders of Jordan today, even excluding a Pali state

None of the peace treaties with the nations surrounding Israel can ever be relied upon. Islam does not allow permanent peace treaties with infidels, only temporary hudnas until they are strong enough to conquer. Israel is required to maintain a war economy and military permanently so it would be wise to take land and resources from their enemies permanently whenever attacked. Take land for war and reject giving land for peace. The attacker must lose sovereignty and assets. To start Israel should take gazan offshore gas to pay for the damages and costs of attacks. Same with Lebanon, no more letting them off without paying. Also, israel should be arresting and incarcerating all Gazans supporting Hamas terrorism.
