Threads is Mark Zuckerberg’s fake X, created when Elon Musk made it clear that he was going to open the door at the social media site formerly known as Twitter to the freedom of speech a good bit more than it had ever been open before. Leftists are totalitarians at heart and cannot stand dissent, and so many of them fled X at that time, predicting the imminent demise of the “fascist” platform, and establishing their own versions of Twitter/X that silenced patriots and amplified leftist voices as energetically as pre-Musk Twitter ever did.
There is more. Read the rest here.

Threads? After your experience w/ Fakebook? Why not try out BlueSky as well, while you’re at it?
I returned to slashdot after a number of years, and most of their posters are pretty deranged as well

I´m done with X. First Elon´s censors kicked me out because I had offended Islam. Then they demanded money to let me back in. No thanks.

Money! Wow, that’s a new one. I’ve been locked out of Xitter for going on 4 years now. Appeal after appeal was ignored. I even tried again the other day, changing my password, hoping maybe now that it’s “X” they would have forgotten. Nope. Still locked out.
My crime? Responding to some clown who said abortion isn’t murder by posting a photo of a dead baby. I made the effort to find the least graphic one I could find. I’m sure the other person’s account is just fine.
I ended up losing contact with people that I liked and was friendly with. They don’t care. There’s no way to contact them that I’ve found. Aggravators.

Would it not be great if everybody have up socmed. I have never been on any of it aside from Whatsapp which I need to keep in touch with KLM and I rarely need that.

One suggestion I once had on Breitbart was resurrecting Usenet and having newsgroups for all sorts of topics. That thing was pretty decentralized back in the day, so having that would ensure that it’s free of any corporate influence
