It’s very simple, really. According to the ceasefire the Trump administration fashioned between Hamas and Israel, in the second phase of the ceasefire, the terror group was obligated to completely disarm. And as many predicted would happen, Hamas now claims it never agreed to such an arrangement, and vows not to comply. The Trump administration appears willing to accept an arrangement, whereby Hamas members would be allowed to keep small arms. Hamas can still kill both IDF soldiers and dissident Gazans, but not quite as effectively as before. That is not disarmament. And as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made clear, Israel will enforce Hamas’ original commitment, and not allow Hamas to keep any arms. That is what disarmament means. What satisfies President Donald Trump does not satisfy Israel.

The US-backed plan to end the war in Gaza appears to have hit major roadblocks, with Hamas reportedly being allowed to keep some small arms and Israel readying its military for a new offensive to disarm the Palestinian terrorist group.
Trump is so eager for a simulacrum of his ceasefire to be observed that he is willing to accept Hamas’ insistence that its members hold onto their small arms. Where he ought to be strong, he is weak, palpably eager to accept Hamas’ terms in order that “the deal,” as he sees it, will still hold. That’s not good enough for Israel, which is determined to disarm Hamas by itself if the terror group doesn’t agree to give up all of its arms. The IDF is now preparing to re-enter the part of Gaza west of the Yellow Line to strip Hamas of all of its weapons.
According to a New York Times report, officials involved in the US-led Board of Peace have drafted a plan that would let Hamas retain small arms while giving up longer-range weapons, a move Israeli officials warn would let the terrorist group maintain its grip on Gaza….
With their small arms, Hamas members can continue to suppress the family- and clan-based militias that have appeared in recent months to challenge Hamas’ rule in Gaza. They can also continue to fire, from just to the west of the Yellow Line, on IDF soldiers. Hamas soldiers who manage to infiltrate east across the Yellow Line can also use those small arms to deadly effect.
Israel has previously warned that Hamas must fully disarm for the second phase of the ceasefire to move forward, pointing to tens of thousands of rifles and an active network of underground tunnels still under the Islamist group’s control….
Israel will defy Trump and not agree to accept this “small arms” exception to the “total demilitarization” that Hamas had committed to under the ceasefire agreement.
According to media reports, the ISF could total around 20,000 troops, though it remains uncertain whether the multinational peacekeeping force will actually help disarm Hamas. Indonesia, one of the contributing members, announced this week that it could provide up to 8,000 soldiers….
How likely is it that the ISF troops — especially those from Muslim countries — would risk their lives in trying to disarm Hamas?
Israel is not going to let Hamas play games by claiming — falsely — that it never agreed to a complete disarmament of its forces in Gaza. Instead, the IDF is now preparing to re-enter the nearly half — 47% — of Gaza that it withdrew from as part of the ceasefire agreement, and to forcibly disarm Hamas with a new offensive.
What’s to come is this: the failure of the Trump administration to hold Hamas to its commitment under the ceasefire agreement to totally disarm, and its willingness to let Hamas hold onto small arms, making it able to keep control of Gaza, is forcing the IDF to prepare for a new campaign against Hamas, in order to completely disarm it by force. This will be a much more intense effort than before, because there is no longer any need for the IDF to worry about endangering the lives of hostages.
This renewed campaign in Gaza by the IDF could be avoided if the Trump administration, instead of yielding to Hamas’ insistence that it retain small arms, were now to threaten Hamas that it must give up all of its arms, and that if it doesn’t, “the IDF will use force to take away those weapons, as it has every right to do under the ceasefire agreement.” But that would require someone made of mettle more attractive than our president, who is willing to relieve Hamas of its most important commitment under the Gaza agreement. We’ll soon see if the IDF has to again enter the half of Gaza it pulled back from, or if, to forestall such a move, Trump rethinks his apparent acceptance of a partial disarmament by Hamas, and now sensibly insists that, as for Hamas keeping its small arms, “it’s out of the question.”

Wellington, I’m glad to see some genuine sceptics of Trump’s approach. Your faith in Trump, like mine, has largely departed. His betrayal of the Iranian people after encouraging them to go out and protest their vile Islamic regime, telling them “Help is coming” and then failing to send help was disgusting. With those people he destroyed any faith they had in him. He should be embarrassed and ashamed over such betrayal, but obviously is not.

Good stuff, Tony, but through research by Robert Spencer and Jay Smith it’s evident that Mohammad almost certainly did not exists. An entire chapter in Sahih Muslim, containing six hadiths, is dedicated to the topic of “Breastfeeding an adult” (باب رَضَاعَةِ الْكَبِيرِ).[5] The hadiths describes how, via suckling, an adult male can become a female’s mahram and thus be allowed to accompany her in private.

Infidel, last night on tv I watched both Mark Levin and retired General Jack Keane say that Trump should once and for all do the world a service by attacking Iran and obliterating its mullah leadership. They think he will. I am far less confident because I think that Trump is so deeply in bed with the trash Muslim leadership of Qatar, Turkey and Saudi Arabia that he will heed their advice. It’s evident that he listens to their garbage. Soon we are going to find out.
In the end brave little Israel will do the ungrateful Western world a favor that makes up for the now cowardly, treasonous Western leader’s total lack of of intelligence and spine.
