The geopolitics and security affairs organization USANAS, based in India, states:
Hamas’s engagement in countries like Bangladesh fits into a broader strategy of ideological expansion, funding, and recruitment—posing direct challenges to regional security and reinforcing the need for deeper intelligence cooperation among India, Israel, and their partners.
The global jihad is religiously sanctioned in Islam. Hamas is an offshoot of Muslim Brotherhood, which is an infamously aggressive infiltrator with the goal of establishing a global caliphate. With its depletion in Gaza, Hamas is seeking new alliances in South Asia.
“How Hamas is leveraging Bangladesh, Pakistan ties to expand global jihad,” Mathrubhumbi News, February 7, 2026:
Israel has raised a stark alarm over what it describes as a calculated Hamas push into South Asia, warning that the terror outfit is actively cultivating ties with Islamist groups in Bangladesh and Pakistan to expand its regional and global terror footprint.
In an interview with Bangladesh’s weekly Blitz, Reuven Azar, Israel’s Ambassador to India, said Hamas is deliberately operating beyond Gaza to secure funding, ideological backing, and logistical routes, while embedding itself within sympathetic networks across South Asia.
According to Azar, senior Hamas figures such as Sheikh Khaled Quddumi and Khaled Mashal have played a key role in outreach efforts aimed at strengthening alliances with local Islamist groups.
“This expansion allows Hamas to increase its influence and operational reach across South Asia,” the Israeli diplomat warned, describing the development as a direct threat to regional stability.
Pakistan, Bangladesh in focus
Azar also issued a blunt warning to Pakistan, cautioning that the long-term patronage of jihadist proxies could eventually boomerang inward, radicalising populations and undermining state institutions.
“History shows that extremist networks cultivated abroad can turn inward,” he said, pointing to risks associated with groups such as Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad…

Two years ago, Israel appealed to India to put Hamas on the list of terrorist organizations, and to sweeten the deal, they put Lashkar e Toiba and Jaish e Mohammed, which had not done any operations in Israel, on their terror watch list. India declined to do it, and continued playing footsie w/ dar ul islam. Now, they find Hamas operating against India
If Hamas does strike India, I hope they get those Indian foreign policy bureaucrats first, before anyone else, just like the fable of the woman who resurrected the snake and got bitten. In India, Hindu public opinion is pro-Israel, but the government doesn’t reflect it at the UN, nor even at a policy level. Oh, and a couple of weeks ago, India was one of the countries that voted against condemning the Iranian massacre of its dissidents. Really stupid people in their foreign office, who think it’s wise to bat for a regime about to collapse, and who they can’t trade w/ anyway, w/o incurring US sanctions themselves

Islam will throw anyone and everyone under the bus for its lust for power. Islam is just like a criminal organization, it dosen’t care who it hurts or kills as long as it is in control.
