It has finally happened. Canada has ended the role of its Trudeau-era appointed “Islamophobia Czar,” Amira Elghawaby.

Deborah Lyons stepped down from her position as Canada’s Special Envoy on Preserving Holocaust Remembrance and Combatting Antisemitism since July, saying “it was hard to get people to speak up for the community.” But how much effort did the government put into the necessary resources to facilitate her, given Canada’s soaring antisemitism problem? Now the position was shuttered altogether.
The National Council of Canadian Muslims (NCCM) has exerted extraordinary power in Canada — including influence over the expulsion of Progressives Conservative Member of Provincial Parliament Goldie Ghamari in 2024 for sharing a screenshot of herself and Tommy Robinson, and my own firing by the Trudeau government from a Privy Council appointment as a director of the Canadian Race Relations Foundation, for warning about stealth Muslims who appear to be moderate. The NCCM, where Elghawaby was communications director at the time, pressured the government to remove me for so-called “Islamophobia.” Elghawaby was subsequently hired as Director of Strategic Communications and Campaigns at the same Canadian Race Relations Foundation. Then she moved on to become Canada’s “Islamophobia Czar,” an appointment which immediately drew backlash.
With Trump now in office and with Texas and Florida designating CAIR as a terrorist organization, the spotlight is on Muslim Brotherhood operatives and connections. The NCCM was formerly CAIR-CAN, an offshoot of CAIR. The new Advisory Council on Rights, Equality and Inclusion will continue to push the Liberal government’s DEI agenda.

The federal government plans to get rid of two key offices combatting religious discrimination, merging them into a single Advisory Council on Rights, Equality and Inclusion.
The Offices of the Special Representative on Combatting Islamophobia and the Special Envoy on Preserving Holocaust Remembrance and Combatting Antisemitism will both be abolished.
“It’s about folding in those two positions into a new committee on national unity and advisory committee on rights, equity and inclusion,” Identity Minister Marc Miller told journalists on Parliament Hill Wednesday afternoon.
He said both offices played important roles in identifying issues that have sown division in the country.
“Now it’s about taking the next step into a national unity committee,” he said.

The antisemitism office was just there to virtue-signal to normal people their hatred of the Right, even though the Right more often than not doesn’t engage in antisemtism. So if bringing down that office also brought down the islamophobia office w/ it, good for it
That said, the new Advisory Council on Rights, Equity and Inclusion still sounds like a DEI office. I wonder whether even the Conservatives have the vision to dismantle it?

Can`t trust the Liberal Canadian government when it comes to race related hate. Every time there is an attack on Jews the 1st thing they do is say we must combat Islamophobia when in all likelihood it is Muslims and their leftist bigots behind anti-semitic attacks.

Merging the two when Islam demands the killing of all Jews… Is a slap in the face to Jews. It will be 100% Muslim and they will hide all anti-Semitism and then push any truths that are negative of Islam as a crime.
