Since appeals to decency and the truth have no effect at the UN when it comes to its treatment of Israel, the American government has now issued a threat to the UN’s pocketbook, that should get results. Washington will now cut its financial contribution to the UN and its agencies by 10%, if the UN does not credibly address the anti-Israel bias in its operations. More on this necessary step can be found here: “US: We’ll withhold Gaza, West Bank funds if Palestine obtains UN seat,” by Mathilda Heller, Jerusalem Post, January 15, 2026:
The United States announced it will hold back 10% of its funding to the United Nations and UN agencies unless they “take credible steps to combat anti-Israel bias.”
In the near-500-page funding package for 2026, the US has leveraged 10% of funding to UN bodies unless the secretary of state can certify that the UN is taking real steps to fix certain issues. If this is not certified, the 10% will stay frozen.
The document requires proof of the appropriate use of travel funds and the existence of a publicly available website, among other criteria.
Furthermore, the UN must show it is countering anti-Israel bias; none of the funds appropriated by the act will go to the UN Human Rights Council unless the secretary of state determines it is taking significant steps to remove Israel as a permanent agenda item.
The UNHRC has been an especially nasty source of anti-Israel resolutions. For years, it had a permanent item on its agenda, requiring the Council at every session to discuss the situation of the Palestinians under “Israeli occupation.” Now the UNHCR has been put on notice: either it gets rid of that permanent anti-Israel agenda item, or the Americans, will insist that none of the money they give to the UN can be used to support the workings of the UNHCR.
The withholding of American funds to the UN and its agencies should have been undertaken long ago — say, when the General Assembly adopted the “Zionism is racism” resolution in 1975. But at long last, it is being done, in a thorough manner: US contributions to the UN and its agencies will be reduced by 10% unless the UN “takes credible steps to combat anti-Israel bias.” How can it do so, given its personnel, including the anti-Israel Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and such people as the antisemitic Francesca Albanese, who is the UN’s “Special Rapporteur on Conditions in the Occupied Palestinian Territories”? And how effectively will the UN “combat antisemitism,” given that the UN has 57 Muslim states among its members?
Now we will see if the UNHCR removes the “Agenda Item #7” which pertains to Israel and its putative sins. If it does not, all US funds to UNHCR will end. In addition, all American aid will be withheld from a future “state of Palestine” unless that “state” takes measures to end all support of terrorism, such as the “Pay for Slay” program that continues to this day. No aid will go to any program that honors terrorists in any way, such as naming buildings after them. No American assistance will be given to Gaza, or to the PA-controlled parts of Judea and Samaria, or to eastern Jerusalem if a “state of Palestine” does not demonstrate “a firm commitment to peaceful co-existence.”
It all sounds very good, a comprehensive series of measures to bring the UN to heel and to make sure that a “State of Palestine” ends every aspect of its support for terrorism and promotes coexistence with the Jewish state. The UN must stop being a center of anti-Israel animus and antisemitism. However, one wonders why the Administration is going to reduce its contribution to the UN by only 10%. Why not double or triple the amount to be withheld?

Why not 100%? The un is useless for the job it was supposed to do.
If a lawn maintenance guy, hired to cut grass, pull weeds and trim hedges sat on a chair in the shade, drinking, smoking and complaining about the homeowner, he wouldn’t get paid.
The un is chock-full and overflowing with terrorists, representatives of terrorists and other useless (at the jobs hired to do) idiots who support the other goons. They are not *peacekeepers* nor do they solve any problems. The un provides a space for muzzies to lie and complain and form plans against Israel.
Why pay them to smoke, drink, sit around in the shade and complain?

Agreed, somehistory, and I would add to this complete withdrawal from the UN by the US.
Truly, what good does remaining in this feckless and often times purely malevolent organization do for America and what is left of the free nations of the Earth? I don’t absolutely deny that SOME good still exists by America being in the UN but I would argue that MORE good would accrue from my country no longer being in this decrepit and woeful organization.

Wellington, if individual Americans were asked….and heeded….if they wanted their hard-earned cash going to the un, I’m fairly sure many would say, “No way, Jose.”
I’ve had personal belongings stolen from me. I have to say, it chaps my hide. And I feel the same way when I hear what comes from the un whenever they are ‘in session,’ and when the idiot at the head of things makes some pronouncement…..evil stuff.

Yeah, US should end all aid to the UN anyway, not make it conditional about what it does regarding Israel. I’m supportive of Israel, but I still don’t agree that support to them is worth the price of flushing money down the 🇺🇳🚽

Indeed! Send it packing to Lagos, Riyadh, or Tehran.

On another, slightly OT, subject…..more and more muzziescum running for office in the U.S.
“Deliberately turning away from the flag during a public rendition of the national anthem is a violation of the U.S. Flag Code, 36 U.S. Code § 301, which Congress established as a guideline against disrespecting the flag. When the flag is displayed during the national anthem, “persons present should face the flag and stand at attention with their right hand over the heart,” according to the code, which serves as a public advisory and is not legally enforceable.”
“Abdul El-Sayed, a candidate in the Democratic primary for Michigan’s open Senate seat, boasted that, when he was a college athlete, he refused to face the American flag during the national anthem because he opposed the Iraq war.”

The Freebeacon article has a whole lot of information on the muzzie….one paragraph…
“In October, El-Sayed commemorated the second anniversary of the Oct. 7, 2023, Hamas attacks with a fundraising email that blamed Israel for the war in Gaza without mentioning the terrorist massacres that incited it.”

According to the feature article:
“Washington will now cut its financial contribution to the UN and its agencies by 10%, if the UN does not credibly address the anti-Israel bias in its operations.”
Only 10%???
That’s more like a rounding error…

A good first step, perhaps?

Ten percent? The creation of a State of Palestine is to simply negate the existence of the State of Israel. Palestinian statehood is the ultimate application of the replacement theory.

The UN has become a tool of Islam and the far left thinkers. Just how much money do American tax payers spend on the UN? Anyone out there know?
Ralph says
The UN is composed mostly of ingrates, envious of American freedom and prosperity and determined to snipe at us at every opportunity. Time for a divorce.
