The truth is that mainstream media has long become mostly state-run activist media. Such media is a feature of all fascist states. These struggling media outlets are also mostly paid for by the state, since they cannot make the necessary ratings to be truly competitive. For some time, alternate media has filled the void for much-needed real journalism, and now “citizen journalism” on X and YouTube has generally proven more engaging, truthful and reliable.
Leftist-ruled governments are infamous for trying to shut down any information that is unflattering to them. They crack down on truth-tellers to advance: their DEI objectives, open door migration and the Muslim vote, all in hopes for more votes. Note also how antisemitism has soared in these leftist-run countries.
Leftist leaders invariably try to cover their motives, heedless of how obvious they are. For instance, the most unpopular British prime minister ever, Keir Starmer, pretends that his government’s motive for wanting to ban X is to protect women and children, since X generates “‘deepfake’ nude images of women and children.” Anyone who has been following the UK’s crackdown on its ideological opponents knows that his real reason is otherwise, including Elon Musk:
Elon Musk, who has long been critical of the increasingly censorious climate in Britain, accused Starmer’s government of acting “fascist” and suggested that they were merely looking for “any excuse for censorship” of X.
“UK Coordinating Censorship Plot Against X with Canada and Australia: Report,” by Kurt Zindulka, Breitbart, January 11, 2026:
The British government has reportedly reached out to fellow leftist-run Anglo-sphere nations Australia and Canada in an attempt to wage a coordinated campaign to potentially ban Elon Musk’s X social media platform.
Earlier this week, UK Prime Minsiter Sir Keir Starmer said that “all options” were on the table, including a potential ban of X in Britain, over users being able to have the platform’s Grok artificial intelligence generate “deepfake” nude images of women and children.
The recently enacted Online Safety Act — passed by the previous “Conservative” government — empowers broadcasting regulator Ofcom to impose fines of up to 10 per cent of a social media firm’s global revenue, and allows for bans in extreme cases.
Yet, apparently reticent to draw the ire of President Donald Trump alone, Downing Street reportedly held talks in recent days with Canberra and Ottawa to craft a joint response to the tech platform,The Telegraphreported.
Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, who is pushing for more censorship rules in his own country following the Islamist mass shooting at Bondi Beach last month, said, “The fact that this tool was used so that people were using its image creation function through Grok is, I think, just completely abhorrent. It, once again, is an example of social media not showing social responsibility. Australians and indeed, global citizens deserve better.”..

Surprisingly, Canada has given a clear “no” to Starmer: https://x.com/EvanLSolomon/status/2010219342097723531

I think Carney is more mindful of how Trump may retaliate than Trudeau ever was
All 3 governments sure loved it when Dorsey ran the joint

Surprising that Canada has turned Starmer down ?
Well it actually shows that even Canada is not in such a state of deterioration as Britain is.
I just wonder how people in the world viewed Hitler when they saw him on those old newsreels back in the late 1930’s ?
They must have thought that bloke is crazy!
A dictator. “Off his head”. Irrational.
Dangerous.
It is time the world started to view Starmer in the same light. He must be overthrown.
So if we have a black out of our communication with the outside world for pity sake come and kick the UK door in.
We will probably be out on the streets fighting in the dark.
At least I hope so.
Iran has shown us what needs to be done.It took them 45 years to reach that point.
I don’t think we can last even another 15 years.
Thank you Mr Musk.
God Bless America.

Why couldn’t they restrict the nudity and then prosecute those who bring up children in that state of undress?
In many places, child pornography is a felony crime….making it, producing it, selling it, etc. Users, buyers, viewers, ae prosecuted in the U.S.
Why not put a system in place to prosecute those using the artificial (fake) intelligence to produce and publish it?
James Lincoln says
You are correct, somehistory.
The child pornography issue is being used as a distraction in order to censor ALL of X.

Thank you, James.

Just wondering if the UK is also thinking about banning Truth Social.
Good luck with that one…

The last time I heard about electronic coordination between these folks, it was called ECHELON that was set up to Hoover up electronic communication. Oh, yeah, the US was in on it, too for plausible deniability.
