Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has been uninvited from Trump’s Gaza Board of Peace. “Trump says he’s withdrawing invitation for Carney to join his Gaza ‘Board of Peace,” by Darren Major, CBC News, January 22, 2026:
Trump unveils his ‘Board of Peace,’ but few allies have joined
U.S. President Donald Trump unveiled his ‘Board for Peace’ in Davos, Switzerland, but so far, few Western allies have joined. Originally endorsed by the United Nations as part of a Gaza peace plan, its charter makes no mention of Gaza at all. Some critics are now accusing Trump of trying to set up his own rival UN.
U.S. President Donald Trump said late Thursday that he is withdrawing an invitation for Prime Minister Mark Carney to join his “Board of Peace” initiative for Gaza.Trump launched the new initiative Thursday at the World Economic Forum, in Davos, Switzerland. Its stated aim is to rebuild the war-ravaged territory during a governance-transition period.
Some 35 countries have signed up to join the board, but Carney had not yet said if Canada would accept Trump’s invitation. The prime minister was not at the official launch in Davos and instead was attending the first day of a cabinet retreat in Quebec City..
Carney was dumped because he called for a diplomatic revolt against America to serve his own Marxist, globalist agenda. Carney called on “like-minded middle powers” to “band together to push their priorities on the world stage,” specifically against the US for “weaponizing” economics. Never mind what the Liberals have done to both the economy and freedom in Canada.
At the same time, Conservative Canadians do hope that Trump now regrets what he said right before Canada’s elections, that he’d “rather deal with a liberal than a conservative’ in Ottawa.” Canada needs a smart and strong Conservative leader who knows how to work with Trump.
Trump stated in Davos:
“We’re building a Golden Dome that’s going to, just by its very nature, going to be defending Canada. Canada gets a lot of freebies from us, by the way. They should be grateful also…But they’re not. I watched your prime minister yesterday. He wasn’t so grateful. They should be grateful to us, Canada. Canada lives because of the United States. Remember that, Mark, the next time you make your statements”
Now that Trump is fighting to reclaim America from the Biden administration’s anti-Democratic, globalist Marxist agenda, he is being met with resistance and ingratitude. It was the Democrats and Canadian Liberals who brought the worst divisions into their respective countries, empowering lawlessness while stifling freedoms and ruining their respective economies. Increasingly, the West is divided between those who support the Judeo-Christian tradition, free societies, and the rule of law, and those who support the red-green axis.
Given Trump’s new snub of Carney, it’s useless to hope that Carney doesn’t make any more decisions that would further sink Canada.
Before he arrived in Davos, Carney was likely emboldened to antagonize Trump by a trip he made to China, where he degraded himself and wrapped up deals with the communist regime.
According to a report in the National Post, Carney “identified the key to dealing with the Chinese Communists on a level playing field: give them everything they want, and more.”
Carney is cozying up to China in a disturbing manner, when Canada is no match for China beyond subservience. A National Post article asked: “How will Carney be able to stand up to Chinese President Xi Jinping to protect Canadian economic interests?” In short: he can’t. And China couldn’t be happier. China’s ambassador to Canada is urging Canada “to make progress quickly”!
Now Trump must deal with China’s pawn Carney. America shares a border with Canada that is double the length of its border with Mexico. And China will certainly manipulate Carney as its pawn against Trump.

You mean triple passport holding Carney ,you mean this clown when he visited China said publicly he is in favor of a “One World Government’ and would be eager to give everything China ask for .Who would be sit at the head of the one world government table according to Carney ?Would Carney have Chinese goods imported into Canada to be ship across the US border to avoid American tariffs on Chinese goods? How about Chinese spies crossing a mostly unguarded border? What about Chinese processed illegal drugs coming thru the Northern wildness at that border ?What about America being the head of NATO and Americas cost of protecting Canada should Trump send him the bill for the protection because they never paid the agree price of its share in the last over 75 year life of NATO?

Trump REALLY needs to concentrate on his OWN good ol’ US of A!
And stay out of other countries’ business.

Normally, I might have disagreed w/ you, but given what he’s doing vis a vis Qatar, Turkey, Iran, Israel and a few other places, I do think he needs to stop paying that much attention to foreign policy and look at pushing up the job numbers in the US. Particularly given the onslaught of AI, sloppy as it may be

The US is China’s #3 trading partner with $560B and a $295.4B deficit.
Canada is #17 with $90B and a $6.2B deficit.
US’s trade deficit with Canada is $63.3B but there is NO trade deficit if energy were excluded and much of the oil Canada sells the US is at a knock down price and is sold by the US to 3rd parties for a large and easy profit. i.e. the US is doing very well in its relationship with Canada. In addition US companies own or control much of Canada’s economy with profits leaving Canada. Factor in the tourist industry and many other things (such as doctors and nurses trained in Canada flooding to the US) and the US is doing even better.
The US has nothing to complain about.
Trump just wants more and has the power to force the issue. Canada must diversify in its trade in order to be less dependent on the whims of the US.
Work with Trump? No one works with Trump — just flatter him, do what he wants and live with it. It doesn’t matter whether the Conservatives or Liberals are in power in Canada — to right wing Americans Canada is a communist country.

To an aweful lot of Canadians, Canada under the WEF placed PM is a communist country. I suppose you believe Freeland (oops not on the agenda) is actually going to work for the Ukraine for free. Also not on the agenda is the ruling of the Emergency Act — not legally imposed by Justine, Freeland, Mendincino and Carney. You do remember Carney calling the peoplekind who did not support the vaccine mandates insurrectionists. Perhaps you should stay in your Liberal lane. Regards “Typhoid Mary”

So what happens with countries bordering America or American “partners” in NATO oversea who become extra friendly with China and other communist supremist bullies should not worry Trump or Americans? News flash America spends the lion’s share of the miltary protection for Canada and Europe. THe “good ol? US of A” never made Europe and Canada pay their contracted amount of the NATO bill .Only one country has paid contractual amount and that is Poland that only entered into NATO after breaking out of the Warsaw pack of nations. The world is an unfriendly place if Europe wants out of NATO with America paying most of the miltary cost ,if they want all the America bases closed in their countries have a draft to put their citizens in miltary service to protect their countries .Cut their social safety net to pay for all planes ,ships ,and other miltary hardware go for it .If they want to become vassal states of China like Canada seems to be on the path under Carney this would be both bad for America and the world at large. At this time there are only two world powers you have to pick a side either America or China what should the EU and one world Carney pick ? You have DEVOS meeting with many elected world leaders attending and unelected ruling elite networking on how to run the world you are telling me that an American president should not attend it or speak there? That he has no right to disagree on the on how the world should be run Europe ,North America ,South America ,Asia ,Africa are all under threat from China. NATO is American finance, Americans make up most of the protection manpower in Germany ,France ,England ,Italy , I say if you pay for something in money and blood you have a say in how it is run. America bail Europe out of trouble in two world wars in the 20th century ,protected Europe from Russia for over 75 years we can and will object to European leaders being over friendly with China.

The US president has a right to speak, of course. Up to now US presidents have spoken politely even when being forceful. Others have a right to speak too. They might disagree with each other. Otherwise there’s no need for more than one person to speak.
Oh!! If only Trump had received the Nobel Peace Prize how much better the world would be. Oh well maybe he’ll get an Oscar.
Canada has been selling grain to China since the early 70’s. Why not?
Because of the Meng Wanzhou affair China stopped purchasing canola (and pork) from Canada. Canada’s trade relationship with China was severely damaged. Eventually Trump made an agreement with China and the extradition request for Meng was dropped but not before severe damage was done to Canada-China trade relations.

WPM,
North Atlantic Council, the principal political decision-making body of NATO, should reevaluate each NATO country member – on at least an annual basis – to determine whether or not they still represent the values and goals of NATO.
Obviously, countries like Turkey do not.

Why does Canada value a relationship w/ the Chicoms? As an American, I’d rather have a relationship w/ Taiwan, even if it means being blacklisted by Beijing

I do think that the board of peace is coming up as a rival to the UN, and that is a good thing. The very idea of the UN is a globalist entity, and I recall reading, back in the day, essays by Einstein advocating a world government, and being a strong fan of the UN and international socialism. That has been what the tendency of the UN has been so it’s good that an US led, alternate parallel UN is being set up. I noticed that Russia has been invited to join, but not China: this may be an attempt to erode an alliance that’s already flailing. Since this group is by invitation only, and requires a $1billion membership fee, it’s likely to be more reputable than the UN. Also, the US has already announced that it’s withdrawing from the WHO, and I think we may be withdrawing from more UN agencies, and ultimately from the UN as a whole. Which would of course be welcome. One more icing on the cake: no veto powers for the likes of Russia, China, Britain or France
One thing I’ve noticed today, looking at Iran International, which reported that the UN has called for accountability for the deadly crackdown in Iran. Yeah, one can accurately point out that the UN is just a bunch of talking heads, but normally, they wouldn’t bother to comment on any atrocities done by any country, other than the US and Israel. I think they’re noticing this Board of Peace activity that’s going on, and suspect that it’s going to, and supposed to, supplant them, cutting off the gravy train to all their bureaucrats. That’s why they’ve suddenly swung into action on Iran. But nobody should be fooled
I do hope that the Board of Peace supplants the UN, although like everyone else here, I don’t like the presence of Turkey and Qatar in it: the former is one of the least peaceloving countries in the world, as is evident by its hostility to Israel, Greece, Armenia and Cyprus, while the latter has no qualms about bankrolling the muslim brotherhood, as well as jihadist groups. However, it’s good that it’s no longer about Gaza (which is a wasted effort anyway) but instead diverted towards creating a different club of nations that recognize national sovereignty, and do not try globalist experiments

“recognizing national sovereignty”???
They can start off by recognizing Denmark’s sovereignty over Greenland.
Oops!!! Not on the agenda.
It’s makeup will be interesting. Democratic? LOL.
One thing is for sure — it’s going to be interesting.

I do think recognizing America’s sovereignty over America, Israel’s sovereignty over Israel, Hungary’s sovereignty over Hungary, Italy’s sovereignty over Italy, even Denmark’s sovereignty over Denmark would be far more useful, before they get to Denmark’s sovereignty over Greenland

Whoever wrote this know nothing about Canada. Calling Canada Marxist is such a joke. Canada is a country where capitalism reigns. It does have a national health system where people don’t have to go broke like what happens in the USA but that’s far from Marxist. It’s humane, something unknown and looked down upon by the dog eat dog Trump administration/

So why don’t more Americans – not just the uber-rich Hollywood Left – flee to Canada? Particularly those on Obamacare?
