Pakistani Man Rams Car Into Large Brooklyn Synagogue

I wonder what his motive might have been.

A motorist rammed his car at least four times into a rear entrance of the global headquarters of the Chabad-Lubavitch Orthodox Jewish movement in Brooklyn Wednesday night, according to the police and video of the crash.

The car is registered to Dan Sohail, 36, of Carteret, N.J., an internal police document showed.

The episode unfolded at 8:45 p.m. at the Gothic revival structure at 770 Eastern Parkway in Crown Heights. Video taken at the scene shows a gray Honda sedan, with a cargo carrier on the roof and New Jersey plates, at the bottom of a driveway. The car slams into a set of wooden doors, one of which splinters and flies from its hinges. As people look on, yelling “Yo! Yo!” and “No!,” the car backs up and hits the doors again, breaking off another door, and again and again.

As onlookers cautiously approach the car, the driver, a heavyset man with a beard, wearing shorts despite the temperature of 16 degrees, gets out and starts walking up the driveway. He agitatedly explains to a bystander, “It slipped.” Two officers walk up to him and handcuff him behind his back. He does not resist. He appears to spit at the crowd as the officers lead him toward a police vehicle.

The 770 synagogue in Brooklyn is the headquarters of the Chabad Chassidic Jewish movement and the apparent attack was timed for a key commemoration for the movement.

Sohail is a Pakistani name. A search of public records turns up a Muslim family in New Jersey.

  1. Thankfully, Pakistan is one of the 75 countries from which immigration visas are no longer being processed. But DHS/State need to go a step further, and start deporting such Pakis. Same for East Pakistanis

  2. Thanks for the video the local news reported this morning reported an “accident ” happen at car hit a Jewish religious building in Brooklyn. The spin the local news report made it sound like it slide on ice into the building. Carteret N.J. is about an hour and 30 min. drive from Crown Heights Brooklyn.

    • Dumbdani will point out mental illness crisis and offer him free meds or at least free THC edibles from one of the 100 or so new pot shops that have open in the city over the last three years.

  4. Of course it didn’t “slip.” …A small child could do better at actual driving, so there is no way for him to be excused in this. Unless mamdani gets involved, or his city attorney interferes.

    Send him *pakin* back to the place from when he came. And take away the Dan part of his name. It’s too good for a murderous muzzie.

  7. Another Muslim attack on Jews in the modern USA. The more Muslims allowed into the USA the more attacks on Jews, and it won’t stop at Jews, just like Europe.

  9. All these Jewish men standing around screaming Yo Yo instead of smashing the Car window and dragging him out and beating the living shit outta him.
    If this sort of action was done to a mosque methinks CNN would run the story for a week and the ”women” of The View would be screeching like they often do.
