The lesson in Minnesota, or in this case out of Pennsylvania, is that while America’s welfare rats may be too dumb and lack ambition to do anything more than sign up for welfare, there are malicious third worlders with the knack to really game the system and cash in on the welfare state.
Consider the allegations made by Pennsylvania in Mohammad’s case.
Pennsylvania’s attorney general has charged a McCandless couple with running an “elaborate scheme” to illegally buy food stamps at a cut rate, use them to purchase nearly $180,000 in food from area stores, then resell the items at their Pittsburgh deli and restaurant.
Rachna Anwar, 46, and her husband, Munir Mohammad Chaudhri, 62, used 453 Electronic Benefit Transfer cards belonging to other people on hundreds of transactions since 2021, authorities said.
The couple ran the operation, in part, by offering people cash in exchange for their EBT card.
Authorities said the operation dates back to at least 2021 and accounts for $178,289 worth of goods, mostly food items.
The former employee, who worked as a delivery driver at the couple’s restaurant from 2023 to last year, said Chaudhri would buy EBT cards from “drug addicts” for half of the card’s balance, authorities said.
Chaudhri would check the balances of each card in his wife’s deli next door, then pay individuals for the cards with cash, according to investigators.
This isn’t some new and innovative idea.
Mamdani keeps name checking ‘bodegas’, a whole bunch of these people are actually run by Muslim immigrants who, unlike the Chinese or Latino owners, engage in large scale systemic EBT fraud.
Search for various spellings of ‘Mohammed’ and food stamp fraud and you’ll find all too many cases.
A Westlake man with a history of food stamp fraud was indicted on charges that he continued to illegally accept food stamps at seven Cleveland-area gas stations, laundered the profits, illegally had firearms, operated an unregulated slaughterhouse and polluted a stream by dumping animal blood and other fluids into it.
Amin M. Salem, 59, and Mohamed Salem, 32, were both indicted on one count each of conspiracy to launder money and one count of engaging in real estate transactions using laundered funds.
Muhammed Farooq, 49, of Somerset has been arrested and charged with first 1st degree money laundering, 2nd degree theft by deception and 4th degree Food Stamp fraud.
Mohammad H. Mohammad, 52 of Parma; Omar H. Mohammad, 49, of Parma, and Rashid H. Mohammad, 53, of Strongsville, are each charged with one count of conspiracy to commit food stamp fraud, one count of food stamp fraud and one count of unlawful redemption of food stamps. Mohammad Mohammad also faces three additional counts of engaging in financial transactions with proceeds from specified unlawful activity.
The Mohammads and others conspired to commit more than $4 million in food stamp fraud through the use of their business, Holyland Imported Goods, located at 11717 Lorain Avenue. This took place between 2003 and 2015, according to the indictment.
A man accused of being involved in a nearly $24 million food stamp fraud scheme has surrendered to federal officials after returning to the United States for medical treatment. He had been living in Jordan for a decade.
Mahmoud “Mike” Salti Jr., 45, was in Detroit and was expected to return to Cleveland next week, his lawyer said.
Prosecutors accuse Salti and his uncle, Mohammed Salti, of buying food stamps from recipients for about 75 cents on the dollar, then redeeming them for full value from the government through stores they controlled.

Our welfare rats think they’re geniuses if they can figure out how to sign up a dead guy for food stamps. Third worlders look at our system and see dozens of ways they can game it.

I believe it was in PA back in the ’90’s where a couple ran a little store, did the thingy with food stamps…the paper kind…and used them to get rich while the male of the cheating duo met with muzzie terrorists.
The FBI had wiretaps on these two and listened to every phone call and whatever was happening in the store and upstairs apartment.. During the time they listened, the agents heard the couple murder their teenaged daughter.
The government thought they could eliminate some of the food stamp fraud by putting the funds on cards instead of paper.
muzzies find ways to get around the Law.
Every cheater should be sent to some muzzie-ruined land where they can’t get their filthy, thieving hands on money they don’t earn.
Those who get food stamps…many are single males above the age of 17 and younger than 65 who are not working and are not disabled. Those ones being *cut off* the rolls are whining that food stamps are the major way for them to eat.
Many on food stamps are drug addicts, alcoholics, etc., and sell their food money for less than it’s worth in order to buy drugs, cigs and booze.
When I worked in a grocery store, some would come in, buy a roast or other large meat with their food stamps and later would bring it back…returning it meant they got cash and could spend that any way they wanted.
Cut off the cheating muzzies…..by deportation…and a lot of those misusing food stamp money will have to do something else for their habits.
With the cards, any returns have the funds returned to the EBT card, so there is no cash that way.

And yet the EBT (electronic benefits transfer) card that the state I live in consists simply of a card (like a debit or credit) with an EBT account number and the state logo and a magnetic stripe on the back. That’s it. Nothing else. The EBT account number and state logo and mag stripe. No picture. No name. Nothing to verify the person using the EBT card is actually the person authorized to do so. Not sure how that’s supposed to reduce fraud but there you go.

I had food stamp customers who would come in and buy the 25¢ pack of gum and then get the change (you gave actual change if it was under $1). Lather, rinse, repeat several times then they’d buy their cigarettes and malt liquor with the change. At least the EBT card stopped those shenanigans as you don’t give change back.

Yes, do that or either just prohibit any returns on goods bought with EBT cards. But no cash back that’s for sure.

The same system that allowed/overlooked the systemic fraud in Minnesota, has allowed/overlooked systemic fraud on a national level.
Makes me sick, when I realize the pervasive corruption, and how my taxes are being wasted, and how little I can do about it. And regardless of any corrections, the tens of thousands I am forced to pay in taxes, will never see again.

There was a similar operation going on in San Antonio, TX several years ago with untaxed cigarettes. Only it was an FBI sting operation. Over 80 convenient stores agreed to buy cigarettes that were untaxed and, hence, dirt cheap, to sell at full price. The entire list of those arrested had Arab or Muslim names.
