Gratitude, yes, but they’re also hoping he keeps his word.
Someone in Tehran just renamed a street to “President Trump Street”.
You’ve made a promise, Trump.
All of Iran is holding you to it. pic.twitter.com/bVA6UtL6Yf

“Protesters in Tehran declare ‘President Trump Street,'” by Dalit Halevi, Israel National News, January 7, 2026:
Protests against Iran’s ruling regime continued unabated over the past 24 hours, with large demonstrations reported in the capital, Tehran, and in several provinces across the country.
Thousands of demonstrators gathered in southern Tehran, chanting slogans denouncing the regime and targeting senior clerics, Islamist groups, and left-wing activists. The protests reflected growing anger toward the country’s political and religious leadership.
Protesters also referenced a recent post by Elon Musk condemning the Iranian regime, adopting the term “murderer” that he used in reference to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. In a symbolic act, one demonstrator hung a sign in central Tehran reading “President Trump Street.”
According to reports from Iranian opposition sources, acts of rebellion were recorded in multiple locations nationwide. In the city of Abdanan, in Ilam Province, police forces were reportedly seen siding with protesters. In Kermanshah Province, demonstrators set fire to government buildings, while additional reports indicated that the Pardis municipal building in Karaj County was also torched.
Protests were also reported in several provinces where crowds chanted slogans rejecting the Islamic Republic and calling for the return of the monarchy. Among the chants heard were calls for the restoration of the Pahlavi dynasty, with demonstrators declaring the current unrest to be “the final battle” for Iran’s future.

President Trump is 100% right for siding the Iranian people in their righteous and just revolt against the brutal cruel oppressive and murderous tyrannical Islamic regime of Iran.
Back in time with President Trump’s first term of his administration on the date of 4/22/19 the US Secretary of State ,Michael Pompeo spoke of that brutal and oppressive tyranny which oppresses the people of Iran and said “We will not appease their oppressors as that last administration did .” Pompeo then stated, “We will support the Iranian people.”
As far back as on Tuesday, 2/5/ 19 in his second State on the Union a speech President Trump ,wisely, spoke of that Islamic tyranny of Iran as well as those in total power and complete of that tyrannical rogue state. For the President declared “It is a radical regime, they do bad, bad things.”
Moreover, an author of an article on a Freedom Site, Dariush Afshar, had explained the reality of the situation well when he wrote that the “People of Iran who fight for freedom in Iran and abroad put a huge gap and draw a prominent line between Iran and the Islamic regime in Tehran.”
This is sadly and tragically the terrible reality of this Islamic tyrannical regime of Iran. This Islamic tyranny has been well nicknamed “the mullahs regime” in which them mullahs and ayatollahs as well as other fiendish and fanatical Muslims in power have a strong and awful control of the Islamic regime of Iran and through their band of Islamic state “police” , who are called the “Revolutionary Guards “come down hard human rights of the Iranian people .
Therefore, the Iranian people who are trapped and forced to exist in this Islamic tyranny live in terrible fear of the mullahs and others in power in Iran. This is a tragic and sad reminder of the wisdom that was printed in the periodical of Benjamin Franklin which is entitled POOR RICHARDS’ ALMANAC that reads “Those who are feared are also hated.”
It also should be added, to this that the actual word “Republic” has on origin the Latin meaning “Of the people” With the mullahs ayatollahs in so much power and even influencing the parliament of this Islamic regime is tyranny is hardly a real republic .Furthermore the ruthless gang of thugs who are the stooges of those Muslim clerics, called the “Revolutionary Guards,” those Islamic State “police” come down hard on the human rights and freedoms of the Iranian people. Therefore the people do have the right to overthrow a tyranny. This reality had even been expressed and described by men of great intelligence .For example, the philosopher .John Locke. This is wisdom that mullahs and other villains in power in that Islamic tyranny don’t want the Iranian people to know about or understand.

The viewers of the site , jihadwatch.org ,most likely , have notice that with President Trump and his administration in power in Washington DC ,the Iranian people have then started to revolt against that horrendously cruel oppressive and even murderous Islamic tyrannical regime of Iran .
In contrast , back when Joe Biden was sitting in the Oval Office of the White House masquerading as genuine US President , that fiendish treacherous villain , Biden , only funded and supported in different insidious ways that horrific brutal Islamic tyranny of Iran , therefore the Iranian people weren’t able rise up to overthrow those vicious and death infecting despots of Iran.
This is all very interesting.

This breaks my heart. But, maybe, the Iranians understand they have a well-wisher, even if US intervention is only a remote possibility.
We should note that the ouster of Maduro is far from complete. The Chavistas are still in power; and an Iranian revolt may just usher in some mad mullahs with shorter beards. In Venezuela, Trump did no more that execute an arrest that prior administrations (notably Biden’s) called for in indicting Maduro as a narco-terrorist. Further, even if the DOJ that made the indictment was Democratic, the New York courts so hate Trump that they will probably find some loophole or tecnicality that lets Maduro walk–just to dpite Trump.
Frankly, were I an Iranian or Venezuelan legally living in the USA, I would not be thinking of going home. Khameini and Delcy Rodriguez doubtlessly have people from the Chinese Communist embassies urging them to pull a 6/4/89 on the demonstrators–and they’ll probably do it. Indeed, given the American track record, the best course for any Iranian or Venezuelan refugee in the USA would be to bone up on the naturalization exam.

There is a difference b/w Venezuela and Iran
⮞ In Venezuela, US commandos just swept in and captured Maduro, but otherwise left the Venezuelan government intact. All the levers of power are still w/ the Venezuelan communists, which is why they are punishing those citizens who celebrated Maduro’s capture. There has been no regime change there, which is also probably why Polymarket is refusing to pay out bets to people who betted that the US would invade Venezuela. The US has not invaded Venezuela any more than Israel invaded Qatar when it attempted to take out Hamas leaders there
⮞ By contrast, in Iran, no foreign troops have entered on the side of the protesters/revolutionaries – whatever one wants to call them. If anything, a few hundred foreign fighters have infiltrated from Iraq to fight alongside the regime. While it remains to be seen how the next few days shape out, Iranians who are considering returning are well justified in drawing up such plans, since it’s not on the whims of Trump, but rather, the mood of people in their home country that is driving this. So while I don’t see Darcy Rodriguez going anywhere, I can’t say the same for Khamenei, Pezeshkian or other members of the islamic regime

Tonight in Iran.

The regime has shut down all communication with the outside world. No internet.
No phone calls. Everything except…Sucker Carlson.
In semi related news. After the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941 Congress voted on a declaration of war regarding Imperial Japan. Everyone voted yes except one woman from Montana. Sucker reminds me of her. She had to hide after that vote. What will Sucker do?
For President Trumps next trick he will get democrats to support the ayatollah and the mullahs.

The current regime in Iran murdered thousands of leftists back in 1979, plus it is a religious conservative regime. So, it should be a no-brainer for every leftist to be against it, but instead they support it. This is the kind of irrationality we are fighting against to prevent the Islamification of the West.
James Lincoln says
Spot on, John.
Leftists somehow forget about what happened to the commie Tudeh Party of Iran following the 1979 Iranian revolution.
