Businesses are fleeing New York City, and really, who can blame them? For years now, the left has had complete political hegemony in Gotham, and has instituted a maze of confiscatory tax policies that have made the cost of doing business in the city prohibitive, and the forest of accompanying regulations virtually impossible to navigate. The situation was bad enough during the mayoral tenures of Michael Bloomberg, Bill de Blasio, and Eric Adams. Now that the socialist wunderkind Zohran Mamdani is mayor, however, the flight is likely to accelerate exponentially.

Okay, but please spread all over the country, don’t just make a beeline for Florida
Also, if you are still (D), go to other blue states, like New England states, or the Left Coast or any of those. Don’t make red states purple, let alone blue

Some years ago, so many people were moving to Florida, there was danger of running out of natural resources. Talk was of turning movers around at the borders with the other states, (GA, Al) due to the explosion in movers.
Other states would likely approve of businesses ….and jobs…moving in. Just leave the politics which elected the muzzie in NY.

You make a good point. The movement of businesses say, across the border in Pennsylvania could bolster that states economy. And that isn’t so far for employees to move if they want to.

Bet the businesses with money started to leave before he was elected because they could see the writing on the wall.
New York/ California are headed for total melt down and the ones to suffer are the people.
Taffy says
Cali has major energy problems. Chevron, Phillips 66 and Valero have shut down their refineries because of Cali’s regulatory BS. Gasoline is over $7.00 per gallon there, when in the rest of the country it is %~ $2.50. They don’t have the fuel for daily operations of the state.
The EPA made its biggest mark in the 1970’s, getting lead out of gasoline and requiring catalytic converters on cars to reduce air pollution to an acceptable level. But that wasn’t good enough for California, who kept increasing regulatory requirements, to the point where it did not make economic sense, with no real health benefit.
In NY, JP MorganChase has a new office center in Texas that they can bail to if things boil over under Mamdani. Ditto Goldman Sacks, Bank of America. There is even talk of moving the New York Stock Exchange. If this plays out, lower Manhattan will be a ghost town!

Fuel for thought: Ronald Reagan left California one of the wealthest states when he left office in 1975. The democrats took over in the state & for the last 51 years have ruined the state with regulations, taxes, sanctuary status for illegals and so much more.
Gavin Newsom is trying to curb the billionaires tax, he will veto that bill but the house and senate will pass that bill because the state is desperate for money. People and businesses are leaving before they have nothing because the state is raping the people.
I have seen the Train to Nowhere up close while being in Calif. It is such a disgrace to see and all that wasted money questions “Where and who got that money?

Yes, excellent move by the EPA, but we have now reached the point of diminishing returns.
Automobile emissions are about 98% cleaner than in the 1960s:

Finally, even Google’s founders are leaving California. When a group that lamented Trump’s election in 2017 can no longer stay there, that’s saying something
That said, I hope they don’t move to somewhere like Texas or Florida, but instead settle for an already blue state, such as Oregon or Washington

In 1981 John Carpenter directed a film, “Escape from New York.” By 2028 I anticipate this will truly be a case of life imitating art.

Running away from your mistakes won’t fix the problem. Getting rid of the leaders pulling your city down is the correct answer.
