Another Hindu youth was shot dead in public on Monday evening in Bangladesh’s Jashore district, triggering panic and fear in the area. The incident occurred around 5:45 pm at Kopalia Bazar in Ward No. 17 of Manirampur Upazila.
The killing marks the fifth fatal attack on members of the Hindu community in separate violent incidents over the past three weeks, raising serious concerns over law and order amid ongoing unrest and protests across the country.
The deceased has been identified as Rana Pratap, 45, son of Tushar Kanti Bairagi, and a resident of Arua village in Keshabpur upazila. According to eyewitnesses and police sources, unidentified assailants opened fire on Pratap while he was present at the market. He sustained multiple bullet injuries and died on the spot.
Following the shooting, chaos gripped the locality, prompting a swift response from Manirampur Police Station personnel, who rushed to the scene and brought the situation under control. Confirming the incident, Officer-in-Charge Rajiullah Khan said preparations were underway to recover the body and conduct a post-mortem examination. It has been, but not in any official levels. There is a demand by Hindus of Bangladesh to have a new separate country “Bangabhoomi”, which would be a safe country for Hindus, just like South Sudan for Sudanese Christians. India has never considered it, so that hasn’t gone anywhere

Just horrifying–this *poor young man*. In 1971 15% of the population in Bangladesh was non-Muslim–today it is under 10%. And in Pakistan this is even worse–just about 3.5% non-Muslim for the whole country.
In both places unbelievers are being driven out, forcibly converted (often through kidnapping, rape and forced marriage of girls), and killed outright. The same is happening in Gaza and the Palestinian territories, and in places like Nigeria.
