Australia is now following in the footsteps of shattered, staggering, dhimmi Britain, which banned me and other opponents of jihad violence and Sharia oppression years ago. The Australians will also, again like the hopeless British, discover that forbidding criticism of Islam doesn’t pacify jihadists or quell their desire to conquer and subjugate the native non-Muslim population.
“Australia cancels visa of Israeli critic of Islam,” JNS, January 26, 2026:
The Australian government canceled the visa of a British-Israeli activist and critic of Islam shortly before he was scheduled to fly Down Under to speak before Jewish audiences.
“As in other cases, they wait until the last minute,” the Australian Jewish Association, which invited the activist known as Sammy Yahood to speak, said on X, noting that the visa was yanked three hours before Yahood’s flight was scheduled to take off.
Yahood, who uses that name (it means “Jews” in Arabic) for safety reasons, grew up in the United Kingdom and recently moved to Israel, was due to run a series of self-defense workshops and launch his “peace through strength” campaign.
“Another Jewish visitor has had his visa canceled. Sammy Yahood is a British and Israeli citizen. He is Jewish,” the AJA wrote.
The visa’s cancellation coincided with a new policy meant to keep out threats to the Jewish community, AJA said. “Parliament just voted to increase the powers of Toby Burke to cancel visas as an apparent response to support the Jewish community following the Bondi massacre,” AJA said, referencing the murder of 15 people at a Chanukah party in Sydney on Dec. 14.
Robert Gregory, the CEO of AJA, said in a statement that the cancellation of Yahood’s visa was part of a “misuse of Interior Minister Tony Burke’s ministerial powers” under new hate speech laws….
“This targeting is particularly galling given that the government has not acted against Islamic hate preachers,” Gregory said. “Whenever I speak to Jewish people around the world, they express great concern about what has happened in Australia. This is going to further tarnish Australia’s reputation.”
Yahood has criticized Islam on X, saying it “cannot be trusted to simply ‘co-exist.’” On Nov. 6, he wrote on X: “It’s time to ban Islam. It’s time to stop being tolerant of those that are not tolerant of us.”…

What is the difference between “freedom of speech” and incitement?
gravenimage says
I think it is actually pretty clear in most cases. Preaching murder is *not* covered by freedom of speech–but other speech is, including much that is not popular, as it should be.

Australia is more confused that I thought.

The Jews in Australia are under attack; many are murdered and as a ‘response’ to that, Jews from other countries are banned from entering.
And wait until the traveler is at the airport waiting to board a flight to let him know he is not welcome.
This treatment is very islimic….punish the victims, reward the evil perps.

What’s more. Tony Burke, who relies on Islamic votes to stay in power, cancelled the visa on Holocaust memorial Day.

Grimly spot on, Somehistory.

Australia, under its current left wing government, is definitely on the way to being like the UK. Albanese probably talked to Starmer about how to shut down freedom of expression with threats of jail for hate speech. Lots of truth tellers would be wary of expressing their opinions because of the threat of jail. It is a dream come true for left wing fascists.
somehistory says
Tim, all these so-called ‘leaders’ are making it a crime to give advice on protecting oneself and family from the predatory and murderous muzzies, even if isline is not mentioned.
The entire thing is so evil, it’s demonic.
Tim gallagher says
It is not going well here in Australia, somehistory. You can see that this left wing government will almost certainly use the hate speech laws to shut down criticism of them and their favoured groups, say maybe Muslims. And the opposition have fallen apart as well which means Labor might stay in power. The only good things at the moment is the rise in popularity of the one nation party. They want to cut the ridiculously high immigration levels and I think will not let many Muslims in at all. They have my vote. I used to vote for the liberals, our conservatives, but no more. Australians voted Labor in so you get what you voted for. The government you deserve.
somehistory says
I feel for you, Tim, and all honest people there. Just like here, people are getting into the government who only want what is bad for the most people, and have their pets who come first, sometimes only, no matter what they do.
It seems that so many want to empty the muzzie countries and bring all of their populations here, there and everywhere to make life miserable for everyone.
Tim gallagher says
I wrote a long comment about the dismal situation in Australia, similar to the UK. I won’t repeat it, somehistory. On another subject, how did you go with songwriting. There seem to be extraordinary numbers of people writing songs. The contest I am entering goes on for months as they go through all the songs. I’ll give it a go with 11 songs and see what happens. I hope you are going ok. I have found out, after thinking it was allergies for years, that I have lung damage called bronchiectasis. Years ago I smoked heavily for 12 years so maybe that’s the cause. No big problem so far.
somehistory says
Thank you, Tim. I believe your comment showed up after all. I’m sorry about your lung condition. I hope your doctors can help. I’ll be praying for you. My father had something in his lungs and had asthma too. In the war time, soldiers were encouraged to smoke and people were told it could cure asthma and other lung diseases. He had a severe allergy to dust, and the smoking didn’t help any of it.
There is a restaurant chain here which has old newspaper articles on the tables and I have read the claims about cigarettes being good for the lungs.
My songwriting isn’t going as well as yours. I start writing one and then I have something come up and I forget. So, I start another one. This past weekend, my autoimmune things waylaid me and my eyes are very blurry.
I hope your songs do well in the competition
Tim gallagher says
Thanks, somehistory. The main thing with my lung condition is to avoid infections that can damage the lungs more. I have no pain which is the main thing. Smoking good for you, eh. If I had not quit smoking I would have died years ago without a doubt. I write write tons of songs and then try to polish them. Lyrics no problem, tunes probably sound too much the same. All the best to you, your daughter, and also to your dog.
somehistory says
Tim, thank you.
Yeah, the tobacco companies wanted to make a fortune and they didn’t care how many suffered. I was a little child when my family raised tobacco. I recall stringing the leave so they could be hung up to dry. Of course, I had no idea about it making people ill.
.
As for the tunes sounding the same, that is a problem with a lot of song writers. When I was young, I could hear a song once and then sing it. I learned hundreds of songs and would rock my younger siblings to seep while singing to them. I liked to listen to different kinds as if I stuck with one genre, they were too much alike. I really like those with violins and cellos. And when I write, I too have trouble with some of the tunes. There are only so many notes to use.
My daughter is okay except for her foot and her knees. She sees the ortho dr next week or the week after.
The other night, I dropped something and said to my daughter, “It’s on the floor.” when I said that, the dog began looking down at the floor in the area close to me. She understands a lot of words.
Thank you for the well wishes. I hope you can avoid infections.

I think that trade is 2 way. Britain is learning from Australia how to shut down social media for minors
Tim gallagher says
Yeah, I think that that would be true. I don’t know much about Starmer but I suspect that the far left Albanese would get along very well with Starmer. I suspect that lots of young people will be so tech savvy that they will get around the Australian social media ban. I am a complete dinosaur on such matters. I hope you are going well infidel.
࿗Infidel࿘ says
Thank you, Tim, I am fine. Yeah, I do think that over time, Australian kids will figure out how to get around these bans. Not that social media itself is good, but by banning this, they’re just making it more attractive to the general populace
I do hope that Australia gets another leader like John Howard. Maybe Pauline Hanson?
Tim gallagher says
You are right, infidel. However this hopeless Labor government could remain in power for a long time because the usual opposition to Labor, a coalition of the liberals and nationals, a rural party, has fallen apart. One nations popularity has surged but they probably will never be a mainstream party. The idea of this useless Labor mob staying power is sickening.
carpediadem says
There are many who think Albo had the hate speech laws ready to go in a drawer.
Tim gallagher says
That sounds about right, carpediadem. It certainly is what far left control freaks always dream of having. Truth tellers watch out in Australia these days as the police will be at the door.

Tony Burke’s Islamic masters have spoken!
Did anyone else notice how the visa was cancelled?, right at the last minute so he couldn’t challenge it, very done on purpose!
David M says
Tony Burke panders to the Muslims because his electorate has a large Muslim vote. He even met the ISIS brides at the airport when they let them back in. He doesn’t realise he is still just an infidel to them, in his case a useful infidel.

So, if anyone “likes” his tweet, will they also be banned?

Very interesting. Former Prime Minister Scott Morrison has told Imams to take some responsibility for Islamic teachings. The left is obviously angry about this.

Albo and Wong, our Prime Minister and foreign Foreign Minister have blood on their hands. They allowed the antisemitic occupation of the bridge, reversed the Libs plan to move our embassy to Jerusalem, recognised the fictional “State of Palestine”, imported thousands of ‘palestinians’ from Gaza, prohibited Israeli politicians from visiting Australia and continually pander to the hard left antisemites in the Labor Party for political gain. They are beyond disgusting. A pox on them both.
If seven or eight of the people attending the Hanukkah celebration were carrying concealed, the slaughter would never have happened. These Islamic terrorists are cowards. They will only attack soft targets. The problem isn’t too many guns – the problem is not enough guns. Our politicians are bloody idiots. The Liberals disarmed us in 1996, and now Labor wants go even further. As the joke goes, when seconds count the police are only minutes away. But what is the first response of these morons? More punitive gun laws which affect the law abiding but are ignored by criminals and terrorists. We don’t need gun control- we need moslem control. And new politicians. To those who leap in with their gotcha point that the brave hero is a Moslem I say ‘so what. Does Schindler’s list, one good German, prove Nazi Germany wasn’t evil? Of course not – and one Moslem hero doesn’t negate the fact that Islam is an evil dangerous ideology which has no place in in a free society
Brian Ozzy says
Albo and his gang of thugs won’t hear a word against islam but the sycophants gladly let in any Muslim terrorist or raving hate-filled imam who wants to screech his koran induced hatred at every mosque. Musn’t atagonise such a large and rapidly growing voting block you know!
