In the Qur’an, a mysterious figure, known as Khidr in Islamic tradition, kills a boy in an apparently random and gratuitous attack. He then explains: “And as for the boy, his parents were believers, and we feared that he would overburden them by transgression and disbelief. So we intended that their Lord should substitute for them one better than him in purity and nearer to mercy.” (18:80-81)
And according to Islamic law, “retaliation is obligatory against anyone who kills a human being purely intentionally and without right.” However, “not subject to retaliation” is “a father or mother (or their fathers or mothers) for killing their offspring, or offspring’s offspring.” (Reliance of the Traveller o1.1-2).
Muslims commit 91 percent of honor killings worldwide. The Palestinian Authority gives pardons or suspended sentences for honor murders. Iraqi women have asked for tougher sentences for Islamic honor murderers, who get off lightly now. Syria in 2009 scrapped a law limiting the length of sentences for honor killings, but “the new law says a man can still benefit from extenuating circumstances in crimes of passion or honour ‘provided he serves a prison term of no less than two years in the case of killing.’” And in 2003 the Jordanian Parliament voted down on Islamic grounds a provision designed to stiffen penalties for honor killings. Al-Jazeera reported that “Islamists and conservatives said the laws violated religious traditions and would destroy families and values.”

An Afghan national has been charged with the first-degree murder of his wife after he allegedly committed an honor killing in Washington state over the belief she was having an affair, local media reported, citing the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
Sayed Sadat, 37, of Auburn, called police to his home on the morning of November 23, where he was said to have confessed to killing 43-year-old Geety Sadat.
The couple’s three children, aged 6, 9, and 11, were in the family home at the time of the homicide, but were said not to have witnessed their mother’s death. Officers later took the children, who were still asleep at the time of their arrival, into protective custody.
Sadat was charged with the murder three days after the initial call to police, according to charging documents seen by the Auburn Reporter (AR). It was said he strangled Geety to death over the belief she was having an affair with her niece’s husband.
The niece and her husband were reportedly the only other family Geety had in the US, and she would regularly call them for support and would see them regularly. Police later determined there was no indication she was involved in an adulterous relationship, according to the Seattle Times.
Sadat called the police 30 minutes after Geety’s strangulation and told the police he had warned his wife over the past year that he suspected she was being unfaithful. He reportedly told officers it was the norm for cheating spouses to be killed in his home country, and he had thought about ending her life multiple times, including in the 10 days leading up to her death.
Sadat arrived from Afghanistan within the last three years, according to local reports. He had no criminal history prior to the incident. Geety had married Sadat in Afghanistan in 2013 in an arranged marriage.
Describing the conversations between his wife and his niece’s husband as inappropriate, Sadat reportedly failed to explain to officers why he believed that the pair were committing adultery but cited cultural norms.
Geety’s cause of death was asphyxiation by manual strangulation, according to the King County Medical Examiner, which ruled her death a homicide.Sadat reportedly told officers that her homicide was an “honor killing” as she dishonored her family with her alleged affair. He also reportedly told officers that his niece’s husband should have been killed too, but was bigger than him, and he was unsure of how to source a weapon for his killing….

Since she had conversations with her niece and husband, she was likely telling them what a thug her husband was…probably crying on their shoulders and asking what to do.
The scummy murderer didn’t want his evil deeds to be public knowledge and with the current atmosphere in Washington State, thought he would be okay if he murdered her. Perhaps he wanted a younger wife…the niece maybe and he wanted her husband dead. The *affair* was merely a pretense.
Skewer him in a publicized trial and make it clear to the other muzzies that this is simply unacceptable murder and there is no “honor” in it. Violators of the laws should receive punishment.

I continue to be suspicious as well that these dishonor murders are just an excuse to hide wrongdoing. They can rape a daughter, then accuse her of dishonoring the family to hide it.
His wife built a relationship with her niece and her husband; it’s an affair. He had an affair himself. His wife didn’t want a very young daughter sent back to be sold off to an old man. He was embezzling and implicating his wife. All are possibilities. Who knows, but he believed his teachings have a solution and yes, they must all be made to see that it’s not.

The terrible term “honor killing” is alone a dishonest term. For there is no honor, at all, it’s a malice -filled murder of a young female. Just giving an evil action, a better sounding title doesn’t change the wicked nature of it. It’s like scrapping off the label of that jar of cyanide which reads “Danger Poison” and replacing on that jar another label that reads “ Apple Juice.” That doesn’t change the deadly content in that jar. As it has been wisely said that “Evil is always looking for an excuse.”
Second, the horrible reality is that Islam is able to in a sinister way, warp the cognation of the human mind that a man might even feel and think that a cold-blooded murder of a helpless young girl or woman is something that is “good” That’s outright demonic. In that situation, that “hot iron” is Islam.
