“British-Egyptian activist Alaa Abd El-Fattah returns to the UK and reunites with family after prison release,” Sky News, December 26, 2025:
British-Egyptian pro-democracy activist Alaa Abd El-Fattah has returned to the UK for the first time since his release after spending six years in prison in Egypt.
Mr Abd El-Fattah, 44, was released in September after being granted a presidential pardon for his charges of spreading false news, but a travel ban was in place until 20 December.
He had become one of Egypt’s most prominent political prisoners after spending much of his life in and out of detention due to his activism. His latest sentence came amid a far-reaching crackdown under president Abdel Fattah al Sisi.
Mr Abd El-Fattah has dual nationality through his mother, Laila Soueif, with whom he has now been reunited in the UK.
In a statement, his family said he would shortly be reunited with his 14-year-old son Khaled, who lives in Brighton with his mother.
Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer welcomed Mr Abd El-Fattah’s return, writing on X: “I’m delighted that Alaa Abd El-Fattah is back in the UK and has been reunited with his loved ones, who must be feeling profound relief.
“I want to pay tribute to Alaa’s family, and to all those that have worked and campaigned for this moment.

By 2050 (or sooner) the United Kingdom will be a sharia-compliant Islamic state.

There is plenty of evidence implying that Britain is finished. But I wonder, what about the massive Tommy Robinson protests in Britain? What about the years of voting and elections, trying to call attention to the issue of non white Christian immigration? They voted for leave from the EU for that issue.
I agree that there is another part of the electorate, they are stronger and more entrenched in society, and maybe the British have not been open enough about their disapproval of Islam, to make the cut. But I would like to hear that explained. I suspect other western nations have the same issue. Maybe they aren’t passionate enough, maybe hating the Jews, leaves them at a legitimacy and power vacuum that simply does not make the cut. But maybe we should view this government as unfair, or pursuing the goal of far greater free speech about race relations. In G-d I trust.
I would even say that examination of western demographics, gender relations, and governing legitimacy, lend themselves to intentionally creating a race relations disaster. To implement discourse under duress. I suppose such a conclusion would not be explained, but it is desirable to discuss.

I certainly see every day that Britain is being trussed up and prepared, if not for slaughter, than for an Islamic takeover.
The ground is tilled and the seed being sown.
Many believe our only hope is to ban Islam and deport every single Muslim, good, bad or indifferent.
That is likely to be impossible in practical terms unless a Nationalist, ruthless dictator comes to power within the next few years.
But while we may not be able to mass deport, equally the Muslims have a problem in how to kill off the millions of us who will not submit. It may come to that.
Many of us believe we are in a worst position now than if we had lost our war agsinst the Nazis.
Hope remains for the moment.
