Tucker Carlson appeared at Turning Point USA’s AmFest on Thursday, overflowing with righteous indignation. Carlson was addressing an extremely quiet crowd that repeatedly refrained from applauding his remarks, and his inability to get them to respond seemed to frustrate and enrage him, to the point that he began scolding the crowd itself. Their primary sin, the one that seemed to preoccupy Carlson the most, was their “Islamophobia.”
The far-left Daily Beast noted Friday that Carlson scolded his audience for “‘attacking millions of Americans because they’re Muslims—it’s disgusting. And I’m a Christian, I’m not a Muslim,’ he said, in a room where you could have heard a pin drop.” The Beast goes on to state that Carlson “tried to lighten the mood” by adding: “I know there’s a lot of effort to claim I’m a secret jihadi. I’m not.” After that, says the Beast, “there was a little pause, opening the door for laughter that never arrived. He swiftly moved on.”
“You should not attack people on those grounds,” Carlson thundered. “And you’re seeing it from Republicans. What the hell are you doing? What you’re doing is trying to divide the country, and I’ve lived through 50 years of this c—. All these fake race wars they’re always promoting. ‘Oh, go hate each other while we loot the treasury.’ That’s exactly what’s going on, and most people are totally sick of that.”
All right. So in Tucker Carlson’s view, apparently, some unnamed group has been for half a century pushing this country into “race wars” so that it could use the distraction to rob the American people. All this, apparently, has something to do with gratuitously attacking Muslims who are fine, upstanding, loyal, law-abiding Americans, solely because of their faith.
Carlson said all this with great emotion, and that may have been done to try to keep people from noticing how vacuous it all is. An old joke used to circulate, around the time that Tucker says these “race wars” started; it involved a politician who wrote a marginal note at one point in the text of his speech: “Argument weak here. Yell like hell.” That’s what Tucker Carlson was doing at AmFest, as it’s virtually impossible to fathom what he meant by “race wars,” particularly in the context of attacking Muslims.
Is Tucker Carlson suffering from the left’s delusion that Islam is a race, and/or that all Muslims are of one race, so that opposing jihad violence and Sharia oppression of women necessarily involves racism? If so, unfortunately for him, it is a readily demonstrable fact that there are Muslims, and jihad terrorists, of all races.

1. Do you acknowledge that the foundational holy texts of Islam, such as the Qur’an, and the Hadiths, contain verses of intolerance and threats of harm towards non-Muslims, and examples of misogyny and gender inequality?
2. Do you acknowledge that the Al-Sīra al-Nabawiyya, commonly shortened to Sīrah, the traditional biographies of the Islamic prophet Muhammad, together with quotes in the Hadiths attributed to Muhammed, portray him as violent, cruel, bigoted, a fabulist and someone who consumated a marriage with a nine year old girl when he was in his 50s? And that regardless of Muhammed’s behaviour recorded in the Sirah or Hadiths, Allah decrees in the Qur’an that Muhammed is the perfect example of a man, and thus ALL Muslims revere his example in contemporary times?
3. Of the millions of Muslims in the USA or over a billion across the globe, how many have publicly denounced Muhammed for his murders or his pedophilia?
4. Of the the millions of Muslims in the USA or over a billion across the globe, how many have publicly denounced Islam for claiming under divine law the right to conduct intimidation and threats to non-Muslims, or the mistreatment of women, even if they personally do not follow or act upon such diktats in the Qur’an and Hadiths?
5. Of the millions of Muslims in the USA or over a billion across the globe, how many have publicly denounced the Qur’an as a source of hate speech?
6. Do you think it acceptable that an apostate from Islam, and/or a homosexual man or woman should be killed in accordance with Islamic law?
Hopefully Tucker can answer those questions.

Tucker should in that case be courageous and denounce Charlie Kirk’s statement that “islam is the knife that the Left uses to slit our throats”. Yeah, Charlie had Tucker at TPUSA, but he also had Ridvan Aydemir there as well

Why was he there? Did he really expect Mr. Kirk’s supporters (those who agreed with Mr. Kirk) to agree with him when he was contradicting Mr. Kirk?
Anyone who has to proclaim that he is Christian while giving a speech to Christians, when he expects people to hear and agree, has a real problem.
In my opinion, he could just as easily say he’s a chimpanzee or a rock star who has sold trillions of albums; those things would have been just as believable as claiming to be a follower of Jesus Christ.

For the promotion of the true exercise of Free Speech, I’m glad Carlson was included at TPUSA this year. It was a great example of both parts of Free Speech: The Speaker and the Listeners.
It was a chance to show how free speech defeats bad ideas.
Carlson spoke in public, presented his case, in his own words, and the Listeners answered “No.”
No applause, no laughter, in public, in real time, to his face.
Letting him speak addressed a conflict on the Right and how that conflict should be addressed. Let each side present their case, as Ben Shapiro and Tucker Carlson did, and let the Listeners decide.
I think the difference between the two positions, held by these two men, is an example of a positions held by principles, Shapiro, and positions held by mere celebrity, Carlson.
They are both celebrities but Shapiro’s celebrity is built on merit. He offers real solutions. He built a media company to combat bad ideas. An example would be Shapiro’s media company’s movie “What Is A Woman?” Exposing the utter hideousness of the Trans ideology – and most importantly, the harming of children being sacrificed to it. Both Shapiro and Matt Walsh followed up by appearing before Congress to testify in meetings. They kept reporting, but also sponsored Bills to ban the butchering of children. They took multiple actions. And they won!
Carlson, came up as a personality at Fox, who garnered deserved celebrity, through presenting a Conservative take on bad ideas. He was good at reporting on how bad the bad ideas were.
But that’s it. He would report on how terrible things were but never proposed any solutions to the terrible things.
To propose solutions,or actions, you have a deeper understanding of the problem you are facing.
Carlson is continuing to be what he has always been. A celebrity who talks. Now that he’s not with a network we are able to see what he actually has to say.
Carlson has shown himself to be a man with no discernment.
By all means have anyone you want on your show – but you are responsible for how you deal with your guests bad ideas, if they arise.
But Carlson seems to want to have guests on his show and just let them talk. He offers no principled push back, no follow up questions, just talk and nodding in agreement.
It’s like he wants to be a Joe Rogan, and just “let it rip”. Like Joe does with pseudo-archeologists.
But we are not looking for another Joe Rogan. And the ideas being discussed are not flippant like
pseudo- archeology is. They are life and death ideas. We are looking for solutions to those very real life and death problems.
So the Listeners listened – and said “No.”
