While in some cities — New York, London, Amsterdam — the Great Fraternity of Antisemites celebrate Hamas on the streets and on campuses — Rio de Janeiro has just shown it is made of mettle more attractive. The State of Rio de Janeiro has now passed a law making October 7 a memorial day, when it will observe every year the anniversary of Israel’s calvary. It would be nice to think that American cities and states will follow suit. Brazil’s State of Rio de Janeiro has passed a law that makes October 7 an annual “Day of Remembrance for the Victims of the Massacre of the People of Israel by the Terrorist Group Hamas,” with the aim of “showing the importance of this date for the entire society of Rio de Janeiro.”
The initiative, which was sanctioned by Gov. Cláudio Castro, means Hamas’s massacre of 1,200 people and kidnapping of 251 people, including Brazilians, is formally recognized within the civic calendar. It amends Law No. 6645 of January 2010, which relates to the approval of commemorative dates in the state’s calendar and is now in force.
When proposing the bill in 2024, State Deputy Átila Nunes said: “The legislative proposal calls on current and future generations to reflect on one of the largest attacks carried out by the extremist group Hamas against Israel, on October 7, 2023, which culminated in the cold-blooded murder of babies, children, women, and the elderly, in addition to hundreds of young people, including foreigners of various nationalities, in the middle of the Jewish holiday, Shabbat. We intend that the commemoration of this date enables the development of a critical conscience so that crimes against the People of Israel are no longer repeated.”
“The scope of this proposal is to provide total solidarity to the people and government of Israel and to the Brazilian and Rio de Janeiro Jewish community,” he said….
One of the reasons for Brazil’s increasing sympathy for Israel is the growth of its population of Evangelicals, who now constitute almost 30% of the country’s population. Biblical prophecy, and the belief that God promised the Land of Israel to the Jews, explain that support for Israel among Evangelicals.
Isn’t this “Day of Remembrance for the Victims of the Massacre of the People of Israel by the Terrorist Group Hamas” exactly what ought to be made into law in hundreds of cities and states and countries around the world? Muslims will be offended, but so what? Where might such a Day of Remembrance be most likely to be adopted? When I look around the world, here are the places where I think it most likely that a similar law could be passed: Among American states, I’d put my money on Texas, Florida, South Carolina, and Pennsylvania as being the first to adopt such a law, because of Governors Abbott and De Santis, and Senators Graham and Fetterman. Among German cities, I think such a law would have a chance in Frankfurt, Hamburg, and Berlin; in France, cities including Lyon, Toulouse, Nice, Nantes, and Montpellier; in Italy, Rome, Milan, Florence, Perugia, and Livorno…. well, you get the picture. In every country, organized Jewry, and all decent people — of whom there are still a great many who are immune to the virus of antisemitism — should push for such a law to be adopted. Where the population is more than 20% Muslim, as in London, Birmingham, Paris, and Marseille, don’t even think of it.
Meanwhile, I suddenly feel like flying down to Rio, not to dance the carioca with Ginger and Fred, but to congratulate Governor Cláudio Castro, and especially the moving force behind this Day of Remembrance, State Deputy Átila Nunes, about whom I have the feeling more will be heard in years to come.

October 7t,th 2023 should , every year on that specific day be a time of serious remembrance .
For during that day those horrendous Hamas atrocities occurred when those Muslim terrorists kidnapped then rapped Israeli girls and young women. What those vile and heinous savages of Hamas did to those girls and young women and still is completely unconscionably cruel and evil. Likewise on that same day malicious murderous Muslims terrorists of Hamas did was so very wicked that is was an abomination to everything that is good decent just and right.
Therefore, it should always be kept in mind and never forgotten that the jihad entity is completely evil and its jihadist stooges likewise are totally wicked. For there is absolutely no limits to the vile, heinous horrifically evils that the jihadists of Hamas will commit because of because of their demonic and malice-filled religion that is Islam.
Moreover, it was very good news that those young Israeli women who had been ruthlessly kidnapped by the jihadists of Hamas have been freed. Nevertheless, Hamas should pay compensation for the severe suffering and wicked abuse they, had to endure while in captivity, that inflected on them by the cruel jihadists of Hamas. Likewise, those jihadists of Hamas who had deliberately and maliciously inflected torture on them. Concerning October 7th 2023 , it really should be a day of sad but significant remembrance on every October 7th from that day those horrendous Muslim terrorist attacks occurred.
For those murderous terrorists of Hamas had invaded Israel and committed other heinous and affronts of mass murders and vile horrific sex assaults and outright rapes as well as kidnapping and other malicious and murderous Islamic terrorist jihad attacks against those peaceful young people at that music festival , on 10 /7/23., are also horrendously heinous cruelly hateful and wickedly mutilating them are Muslim terrorists of the most abhorrent and despicable sort.
