Pope Leo was just in Lebanon, where he called for “peace,” but made no mention of the parlous state of Christians in that country, where they have been under assault from Muslims for much of the 20th century, which helps explain the continuing decline in Lebanon’s Christian population. He said nothing about “certain groups in the country that continue to use Lebanon as a battlefield” — which would have been a clear allusion to the terror group Hezbollah, that has brought such destruction to Lebanon and that still refuses to obey the state’s dictates.
Pope Leo XIV predictably called for the creation of a “Palestinian” state. Why? Because that, he insists, is the “only solution” to the Arab-Israeli conflict. He doesn’t tell us what the borders of that “solution” should be, but presumably it would include all of Judea and Samaria. Nor does he say what would happen to the 520,000 Jews now living in those territories. He makes no allusion to the 3,500-year history of Jews in Judea and Samaria. Nor does he think it worth discussing — perhaps he’s unaware of it? — the League of Nations Mandate for Palestine, that assigned to the future Jewish state all the land “from the river to the sea”: the Jordan River, the Mediterranean Sea. More on his ignorant folly can be found here: “Pope Leo in Beirut: Palestinian state ‘only’ solution to Israeli conflict,” Reuters, November 30, 2025:
Pope Leo said on Sunday that the only solution in the decades-long conflict between Israel and the Palestinian people must include a Palestinian state, reaffirming the Vatican’s position. “We all know that at this time Israel still does not accept that solution, but we see it as the only solution,” Leo, the first US pope, told journalists on a flight from Turkey to Lebanon during his first in-flight press conference.
Why does Israel not accept that a “Palestinian” state is the “only solution” to the Arab-Israeli conflict? Because it does not believe it is a “solution” at all. The very word is an attempt to bludgeon us into belief: a “Palestinian” state must be a “solution” because otherwise, why would so many people call it that? It’s the logic of Alice in Wonderland..
Four-fifths of Israeli Jews now oppose a “Palestinian” state, considering it to be a mortal danger to Israel’s existence. They remember that Israel pulled out of Gaza in 2005, hoping for peace with the Strip, and what it got was endless terrorism, culminating in the Hamas attacks on October 7, 2023. If Israel were to surrender Judea and Samaria, where Jewish history has been made for 3,500 years, those territories would, like Gaza, become a staging area for constant attacks on the Jewish state.
Everyone who talks about this “two-state solution” — as if calling something a “solution” makes it so — appears to believe that it should look like this: Israel would agree to be squeezed back within the 1949 armistice lines, that Abba Eban once described as the “lines of Auschwitz,” stripped of its control of the Jordan Valley that is essential to its defense, and left with a nine-mile-wide waist from Qalqilya to the sea. In such a diminished state, Israel would be hopelessly vulnerable to an invader from the east, that could cut the country in two within a few hours.
But Pope Leo says it is the “only solution.”
Does the pope realize that the “Palestinian” Arabs are committed to Israel’s destruction? Has he read, for example, the Hamas Charter calling for Israel’s disappearance? Hamas and the Palestinian Authority differ among themselves only on tactics and timing. The Palestinian Authority prefers diplomacy, to increase Israel’s isolation and to wear away at the Jewish state’s resolve and its size; it is willing to take more time than Hamas is to achieve this goal. Hamas wants to use terrorism, not diplomacy, as its weapon of choice, and seeks quicker results. But the end result is the same: the disappearance of Israel, and its replacement by a 23rd Arab state.
Does the pope not realize that any further diminishment in Israel’s already tiny size — it is scarcely discernible on a map of the world — would not sate, but rather whet, Arab appetites?
No, I don’t think he does. He has not done his homework. He seems indifferent to the 3,500 years of Jewish history made in the Land of Israel, and especially in Judea and Samaria. He ignores the League of Nations’ Mandate for Palestine that included Judea and Samaria in the future Jewish state. He also overlooks UN Security Council Resolution 242, that allowed Israel to retain any territory it won in the Six-Day War that it needed to have “secure and defensible borders.”
“We are also friends with Israel and we are seeking to be a mediating voice between the two parties that might help them close in on a solution with justice for everyone,” added the pope, speaking in Italian….
The beginning of wisdom here is to stop using the word “solution.” Instead of assuming a “solution” is possible, talk rather of how to “best preserve peace.” The way for that to be achieved is to rely on deterrence, the same deterrence that kept the peace between the United States and the Soviet Union during the Cold War. There will be peace — defined as the avoidance of major war — if Israel remains militarily much stronger than its enemies, sufficiently so to discourage attacks from the jihadists who would destroy it And that, Pope Leo, is not a “solution” that would only increase the chances of war, but is the best way to keep the peace.
The Pope spoke in Lebanon about that “only solution” bringing “justice for everyone.” Does he think it just that the Jews should give up so much of their historic homeland, and live in a state of permanent peril in order that the recently invented “Palestinian people” should be given a 23rd Arab state?

Someone should give pope Leo an education on the history of Israel starting from the Old Testament of his Bible till present.
Please someone tell pope Leo that JORDAN IS PALESTINE and PALESTINE IS JORDAN. Those inbreds don’t need another state/country. There are NO such people called palestinians…. they are all Arab squatters from Egypt (example: Yasser Arafat was Egyptian); Iran (example PA leader Mahmoud Abbas is of Iranian origin); Lebanon, Syria, Iraq; Saudi Arabia etc., etc.

Some people don’t want to be *educated.* I once thought that Catholic Priests (and other grads from seminaries) had Bible knowledge. These days, those people seem to know less than the average person who just attended Sunday School once a week when very young.
If they have any *knowledge* of the Bible, they are hiding it well.
GE says
The western church (Roman rite) in my opinion has had more emphasis on traditions, rather than scripture.
Unfortunately, (again my opinion only) they have altered a lot of the traditions as well, which i think is to its detriment.
somehistory says
GE, you would know more about that than I, as I have never stepped inside a Catholic church, nor listened to more than a few words of what is said. I’ve seen some things on television, but my knowledge of the “traditions” is limited.
From my childhood, the Bible was what I thought it was all about. Read, listen, learn and then do the best possible, according to “one’s talents.”

Certainly, some do – but this definitely does not apply to Pope Leo.
He is an absolute disgrace – and faces NO accountability.

How true to both of you. And why is he constantly pushing dialogue with jihadis? As to opinions, political maneuverings, and constant calls for dialogue with muslims, it is Christians that are his responsibility, not traveling endlessly to meet those who worship a pedophile and call for slaughter.
If he keeps it up, the world will decide, as it has with KC3, that he has secretly converted.
Amen to all calls to Catholics to close their purses. The problem is that US taxpayers have been forced to fund Catholic support for islam, but Catholics should still move in strength against Leo. Waiting around for Francis to pass clearly didn’t work.

OT: “PA school faces fury after Muslim club’s pro-Palestinian display leaves Jewish students ‘shaken’”
“FIRST ON FOX: A Pennsylvania school district is facing backlash from Jewish parents after a Muslim student club promoting Palestinians passed out keffiyahs to students, featured imagery criticizing Israel, and was more focused on activism than culture, parents say.
“My child came home shaken and unsure of whether it’s even safe to speak up as a Jew at school,” Lynn Simon, a Wissahickon School District parent, told Fox News Digital about last Monday’s event at Wissahickon High School, where student clubs were presenting at an annual culture fair stand that had booths representing various cultures, including a booth from Muslim Students of America chapter”

,this women in charge should be fired, pushing normalizing kidnapping ,killing and violence in a school club in the name of “diversity”? The first amendment does not protect threating violence or grooming student to become jihad terrorist. Would someone who wanted to start a after school KKK club for young “white supremist” be accepted in this school as a matter of inclusiveness and the first amendment ?No they would not ,but Moslems can normalize terrorism anti-Sematic behavior ?Nothing is more anti-Sematic then killing Jews or normalizing violence against Jews in America and overseas. What does the governor of Pennsylvania , Josh Shapiro (a practicing Jew)it is happening in his state. His house was lite on fire this year I believe by a crazy anti semitic attack. What does Fetterman a fellow Democratic Senator have to say about this. You have to pick a side in this war on Jews ,Christians ,and western culture in general by Islam.

It’s amazing, in the most negative how Pope Leo XIV can claim to be a Christian, let also claim to be genuine leader of the Roman Catholic Church, a church that officially holds the Bible in high esteem and teaches the people who are members of It to greatly respect and even love Jesus and therefore follow the teachings of Jesus.
Then, in spite of all this Pope Leo XIV pushes favorably a division of the land State of Israel in a so called “the two state solution. “ Which in reality is not solution at all but a recipe for disaster in the Middle East.
What’s more that idea dividing of State of Israel gong directly against the teaching of Jesus , Who taught “If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.” Mark 3:24. [N.E.B.]
For Pope Leo XIV deliberately disregarding or ignoring the teaching of Jesus is an absurdly for a man who poses as a “Christian leader.”
Walter Sieruk says
That so called “two -state solution” that Pope Leo favors is in reality, no solution at all . It would never work.
For example, Hamas had proven that, not only the its words but, more terrible murderous actions, starting on October 7th, that it wants to completely destroy the State of Israel and even commit genocide worldwide on the Jewish people. That Hamas jihad attack and continued further Islam terror/murder attacks reveals the terrible folly and total lack of wisdom in every idea of a two-state solution.
Therefore, that so called “two state solution” is not really a valid idea and not a genuine solution. It will definitely not stop this awful Israeli –Muslim land conflict.
Thus, a “two state solution” is out of the question. .This is because a “two state solution” not really a “solution” but an Islamic ploy of deception , a smokescreen and hoax and a fraud.
To put all this in another way , October7th with those Hamas Islamic terror murderous jihadist attacks into Israel from Gaza exposes that even the idea of some people of dividing Jerusalem as well as other parts of the State of Israel between the Jewish people of the Muslim/ Arabs is nothing but folly. To engage the madness of such “talks” is a hoax and a farce .This is because in the so called “negotiations” between the heads of the Jewish nation of Israel and the leaders of the “Palestinians” the Muslim /Arabs the “Palestinian” leaders will speak the truth only when in happens to fit their agenda. The rest of the time the will be speaking half-truths and outright lies. For their goal is to obtain all of the land of the State of Israel. Even in it takes much time and it means getting the land piece by piece. Therefore, those “peace talks” are a hoax.
For the “Palestinian” leaders are employing what is the Islamic doctrine of Taqiyya . Which is the Islamic dogma that lying and deception are good things to do as long as it’s done for the cause of the advancement of Islam. This insidious scheme is part of the stealth jihad . Such sly and something subtle strategy of disingenuous speech, lying deception of achieving the goal of all the land of Israel a war ploy that will be a disaster if the heads of the State of Israel are foolish enough to agree to divide the land of Israel with Muslim /Arabs ,the “Palestinians.” For if such a “peace dialogue” results in a divided land, the outcome will literally be murder. For “Palestinian” leader will allow the jihadists use that land as a base to launch murderous rocket attacks in to Israel. As for example, Hamas of Gaza and Hezbollah in Lebanon.
Such false hopes for peace, which are based on the foundation of lies, are nothing new when it comes to Israel. For example, the Bible in Psalm 55:20, 21. Reads “Such men do violence to those at peace with them and break their promised word; their speech is smoother the butter but their thoughts are of war.” [N.E.B.]
