New in PJ Media:
Tia Billinger, a British woman who has, under the name of Bonnie Blue, become an internationally famous prostitute and star of pornographic videos, has gotten off easy. She made her way to Bali, intending to engage there in a variety of sexual escapades for the cameras, but her whole Indonesian adventure took a far more strait-laced turn than she intended.
It turns out that Balinese authorities don’t take kindly to Bonnie Blue’s sort of exhibition, and she was looking at fifteen years in prison and a fine of over $350,000. Instead, she got a token fine and a deportation order, plus a ten-year ban from the country. All of this could have been avoided, however, if Bonnie Blue had known the first thing about the country to which she was venturing.
The New York Post reported Friday that Billinger “has been slapped with a $13 fine for flouting Bali’s road rules – and will now be deported from Indonesia after being banned from returning for at least a decade.” On that day, she appeared in Denpasar District Court “accused of a string of road violations in relation to her ‘Bangbus,’ a blue pick-up truck she reportedly purchased for about $1200.”
Convicting Bonnie Blue of road violations is akin to convicting Alger Hiss of perjury because the statute of limitations on treason had run out. Road violations were not at all the kind of violations she had in mind, but the judge duly admonished her to “not to violate Bali’s traffic laws again.” She replied gravely, “I understand.”
That was that. “Blue and one of her British crew were each ordered to pay a $13 fine or spend a month in jail. It is understood she will pay the fine before departing Bali Saturday.” Outside, she showed that she was unrepentant, making a “series of crude remarks to reporters.”
It’s all a big joke to her, but Badung Police Chief, Arif Batubara, took it all more seriously, explaining: “While in Bali, BB (Bonnie Blue) should have been travelling, but instead she was creating content.” Bottom of FormImmigration chief Heru Winarko added: “They have misused the visa they have to make content in Bali. They will be blacklisted from entering Indonesia for at least 10 years (that) could be extended.”
She isn’t being deported and banned from Indonesia for traffic violations. It seems that Bonnie Blue “was arrested alongside a group of 17 male tourists last week following a raid of a studio in Badung.” However, “after two days of interviews, Badung Police issued a statement Wednesday, declaring they ‘had not found any pornographic elements’ during the dramatic raid.”

And at least a dozen factions under the new government’s command took part in the killings, according to Reuters.
Nearly half of them have been under sanctions for human rights abuses, including killings, kidnapping, and sexual assaults.
The units involved in the killings included:
The government’s General Security Service, its main law-enforcement body back in the days when HTS ran Idlib and now part of the Interior Ministry
Ex-HTS units like the elite Unit 400 fighting force and the Othman Brigade
Sunni militias that had just joined the government’s ranks, including the Sultan Suleiman Shah Brigade and Hamza division, which were both sanctioned by the European Union for their role in the deaths
President al-Sharaa has ordered an investigation into the violence and set up “civil peace” mediations.
An official in the new government, Ahmed al-Shami, said: “The Alawite sect is not on any list, black, red or green.
“It’s not criminalized and it’s not targeted for retaliation. The Alawites faced injustice just like the rest of the Syrian people in general.
“The sect needs safety. It’s our duty as a government which we will work on.”
But the massacre of Alawites is continuing, Reuters found.
Beneath the surface of high-powered meetings with the West, there are disturbing reports of massacres, kidnap and enslavement in Syria.
And this is particularly targeting the Alawite group – with chilling reminders of the horrors inflicted on the Yazidis by ISIS.
At least 1,5000 Alawites are reported to have been killed across Syria – and there have been reports of dozens of women being subject to rape, forced marriage of kidnapping.
Much of this violence is carried out by the factions under the control of al-Sharaa’s government, reported a detailed investigation by Reuters.
Al-Sharaa himself has condemned the violence – and has seemingly vowed to punish those responsible.
Amnesty International have called on al-Sharaa to publish a full and transparent investigation into the massacres.
The United Nations is expected to publish a report saying they have found no “active links” between al-Sharaa’s government and his former allies al-Qaeda.

From jihad to reform…who is al-Sharraa?
BASHAR al-Assad was toppled by rebel leader Ahmed al-Sharaa – known as Abu Mohammed al-Jolani at the time.
The Islamist once fought for al-Qaeda and ISIS and was inspired to be a jihadi by the 9/11 terror attacks.
His group Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HST) was the driver behind the lightning offensive that deposed Assad.
And President al-Sharaa – who fought with al-Qaeda in Iraq following the US 2003 invasion – is now in the driving seat.
He was first drawn to jihadist thinking following the September 11 terror attacks in New York.
In 2006, he was imprisoned in some of the worst Iraqi prisons, becoming friends with ISIS leader Abu Bakr-Al Baghdadi.
By 2011, he had moved back to Syria with six men and a stipend of £40,000 to establish al-Qaeda’s Syria affiliate.
He formed al-Nusra – and remained aligned with his Baghdadi until resisting an effort to merge with ISIS.
Al-Jolani’s then decided to split with al-Qaeda in 2016.
He rebranded as the HTS, or the Organization for the Liberation of the Levant, in 2016 with the US designating it a terror organisation a year later and placing a £8million bounty on his head.
HTS tried to present a more moderate image and shy away from its terrorist anti-Western Jihadist roots as less extreme organisation.
The group claimed to have rooted out al-Qaeda and ISIS operatives and cells in its territory and promoted itself to the West as a viable anti-Iran partner.
He told PBS in 2021 that he had no desire to wage war against Western nations and the group established a semi-technocratic government in Idlib and the area of northwest Syria it controlled.
In a victory statement following Assad’s demise, al-Sharaa said claimed Christians and other religious and ethnic minorities would be safe under HTS rule.
But since coming to power, there have been reports of massacres and enslavement in Syria.

Although interesting, I do not know why this story is on Jihad Watch. Bali is a semi-autonomous Indonesian province with a supermajority Hindu population. Perhaps that is why she was merely kicked out and given a minimal fine.
Robert Spencer says
If you had read the article, you would have seen that I was suggesting that she assumed she would have no problem there, because she has absorbed the prevailing view that Islam is peaceful and tolerant. So she didn’t think there would be any problem.
࿗Infidel࿘ says
Bali may have a majority Hindu population, but that doesn’t imply that it’s Thailand, or open for prostitutes. That is the problem: people think that just b’cos a faith is not as misogynist as islam, anything goes. No: just b’cos women don’t get stoned for adultery doesn’t imply that adultery is celebrated there
Also, semiautonomous simply means that Bali hasn’t been flooded w/ muslims like other islands have, such as Kalimantan or Sulawesi, which is why it is Hindu. But it’s still a part of Indonesia, and Jakarta/Nusantara is who determines who may or may not enter that country
Taffy says
Robert, I did read the complete article. My take is that the local population did not want that smut amongst them, even though they are a Hindu and not Muslim, so they took the easy route, claiming that Bonnie Blue was using her tourist visa for commercial purposes. This would have occurred even in a non-Muslim country that despised smut.
I have no doubt, however, that if a famous photographer were to have taken pictures of the attractions of Bali, and announced that his new book, featuring his photography, would be available on Amazon very shortly, no one would bother him for using a tourist visa for commercial purposes.
Indonesia does not have an official religion, and it recognizes six. Even Jakarta, the world’s fourth most populous city is 85% Muslim, 13% Christian, 2% Buddhist, and fractions of a percent other.
Bali, on the other hand, is 87% Hindu, with the balance Muslim, Buddhist, and Christian.
Indonesia’s archipelago allows fairly autonomous operation by the respective governors of its 28 provinces, and only federal matters are handled by Jakarta.
The Muslim problem in Indonesia is the jihadist group Jemaah Islamiyah (Islamic Congregation). Their stated objective is to turn Indonesia into an Islamic state through jihad. They are responsible for the 2002 and 2005 Bali bombings (hundreds killed), and all the other bombings throughout Indonesia. When the 2002 bombers were caught, the government promptly executed them. The group seems to include university educated engineers and engineering professors making explosives for them.
I know that generally there is only one Islam, but the Muslims of Indonesia like their modern living, including liquor, nightclubs, etc. Only one of the 28 provinces is dry. And your average Muzzie Indonesian despises JI. This is totally unlike Middle East Islam that metastasized to Iran, Afghanistan, Africa, and now Europe and the US. Here in the US, we are at a stage I cancer, resectable and fully curable. We must keep it from advancing and turning into a more advanced stage. Europe is stage II or stage III, possibly curable with heavy chemo, but more likely only delayed by such treatment.
So, Bonnie Blue’s expulsion likely had nothing to do with Islam, but rather her bringing her smut enterprise to Bali, the main tourist attraction of Indonesia.

While Bali has (so far) been immune (aside from the 2002 Bali bombings that killed a number of Australian tourists), there has been a steady islamization of all the other islands. Initially, Islam was only there in Sumatra and Java, but over the last 3 decades or more, muslims from there have migrated to Kalimantan, Sulawesi and other islands, islamizing them in the process
Right now, Christians are persecuted b’cos they are the #2 population, but any other group that rose to #2 – be it Hindus, Buddhists,… would have been next. Also, while Indonesia has those 6 official religions, they do what they can to crack down on, and erode indigenous religious beliefs. That is why some of those indigenous groups identify as Hindu, to avoid official pressure to convert to islam or any of the other official religions
Taffy says
There was a 2005 Bali bombing too, but the deaths in 2002 were an order of magnitude lower than the 2002 bombing. 200+ were killed in 2002 and 20+ were killed in 2005 with a lot more maimed.
But you are correct about everything else. I still believe that Indonesia Islam without JI jihad allows other officially recognized religions to coexist. JI seems to be able to convince its pawns to strap on a suicide backpack and detonate it in the name off Allah. And the Indonesian government was quick to execute those members of JI that plan bombings in any are of the country. Unfortunately, there is always another member of JI that springs into action, and there will always be other saps who strap on suicide vests for Allah.

For some cynical reason, I am sort of suspecting that she may have operated with the intent of generating publicity, no matter what the outcome would have been.
There’s no such thing as bad publicity, kind of thing. She has shown in the past that she’s willing to take a certain amount of risk involved. Stupid risks, maybe, but she’s quite willing to take such a leap.
