Emir of Qatar: We Won’t Pay for Gaza Reconstruction

At the recent Doha Forum, the antisemitic American journalist Tucker Carlson interviewed the prime minister of Qatar, who dropped a bombshell that went largely overlooked: Qatar, he insisted, will not be paying at all for the reconstruction of Gaza. It has always been assumed in the Western world, and certainly in Washington, that the rich Arab states of the Gulf, including Qatar, were the only ones with the pockets deep enough to undertake that task. Qatar will not pay for Gaza’s reconstruction, Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani stated during an interview with Tucker Carlson at The Doha Forum on Sunday.

When Carlson raised the question of funding for rebuilding Gaza, Thani compared the situation to that of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, in which there is international support to have Russia fund the reconstruction of Ukraine.

The comparison that the Qatari prime minister made between Russia and Israel is flawed. Russia was the aggressor in the Ukraine War. In the Gaza War, the aggressor was not Israel, but Hamas. Those who supported Hamas with money and weapons, allowing it to start and wage its war on Israel, are the ones who should pay for Gaza’s reconstruction.

Thani claimed there is a double standard where there is pressure for the region and not Israel to take responsibility for Gaza’s reconstruction, and that Qatar, while they will “continue supporting the Palestinian people,” they will not be taking responsibility for funding the reconstruction.

“We are not the ones who are going to write the check to rebuild what others destroyed,” he said.

Thani also rejected the idea of relocating Gazan citizens.

“They have the right to have the choice where to live,” he stated, “and they don’t want to leave their country.”

How does the Qatari prime minister know that all the people in Gaza want to stay in Gaza? He is surely wrong, for some Gazans have been clamoring for the Rafah Crossing between Gaza and Egypt to be opened. Israel recently complied, but it is Egypt that is refusing to allow Gazans into Egypt, thus denying them the right to move out of Gaza, and possibly, if Cairo doesn’t want to allow them to stay, to make it easier for them to go to other countries that might be willing to accommodate them.

Looking to the future, he expressed his support for US President Donald Trump’s Peace Plan, denounced violations, and expressed concern over the ongoing conflict….

The “violations”of the ceasefire he clearly had in mind were IDF attacks on Hamas, but these have taken place only in response to Hamas attacking Israeli targets first, with UAVs and missiles. Such responses are not a “violation” of the Peace Plan, but rather, an Israeli attempt to make sure that Hamas ceases to violate the plan.

The Qatari prime minister also claimed that Israel’s current political landscape makes the country an unwilling partner for peace, claiming that resolutions passing against the two-state solution push the region away from peace.

80% of Jewish Israelis now say they oppose that so-called “two-state solution,” for the Hamas attack on October 7 showed them just how vulnerable they were to attacks from a hostile neighbor. In 2005, Israel pulled completely out of Gaza; the Israelis even left millions of dollars of greenhouses, and a thriving business of supplying European markets with flowers, fruit, and vegetables. The Gazans immediately destroyed the greenhouses, and instead of trying to build a thriving economy, Hamas as ruler of the Strip chose to put all of its efforts and money into terrorism and tunnels.

The Israelis have been disabused of their former hopes. They know that a “Palestinian state” will not be a “solution,” as it has been meretriciously called. For such a state to exist, it would require Israel to be squeezed back within the 1949 armistice lines, forcing Israel to give up control of the Jordan Valley, that is vital to its defense, and worse still, it would end up with a nine-mile-wide waist from Qalqilya to the sea. Such borders would enable an invading force from the east to slice Israel in two within a few hours.

“We cannot, you know, remain hostage to the far right and the extremist agenda,” he said.

The prime minister is referring to an Israeli “extremist agenda,” by which he means proposals that Bezalel Smotrich and Itamar Ben-Gvir have put forth. Both are repeatedly denounced in the media as “right-wing fanatics” because they think that Israel has a right to retain all the territory assigned to the future Jewish National Home by the League of Nations’ Mandate for Palestine, which is to say, all the land between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea. The real “extremist agenda” is that of Hamas, which is dedicated to erasing Israel from the face of the earth and replacing it by a 23rd Arab state. And the state that has been Hamas’ greatest supporter, supplying it with money and weapons, and providing luxurious refuges to its leaders, is Qatar.

Without Qatar’s money and the weapons that money paid for, Hamas would never have become as powerful as it did. The terror group would never have been able to launch drones and missiles into Israel. It would never have been able to build its vast network — hundreds of miles — of tunnels where it could hide both its combatants and its weapons. It would never have been able to attack Israel on October 7, 2023. The war in Gaza would never have taken place without one country bankrolling and arming Hamas: Qatar.

And that is why the Western world must insist that Qatar, more than any other country, ought to be contributing tens of billions of dollars for the reconstruction of Gaza. And if it refuses? The Western world could cease to buy natural gas from Doha. Washington could close down its two military bases in Qatar, including the Al-Udeid Airbase that is the largest American military outpost in the Middle East, that have assured the emirate’s security. Saudi Arabia and the other members of the Gulf Cooperation Council, who will also be contributing tens of billions to Gaza’s reconstruction, could reinstate a blockade similar to the land, sea, and air blockade of Qatar that the GCC imposed from 2017 to 2021.

    I am sixty years old. Iserved uncle Sam in four different wars. Kuwait, Kosovo, Afghanistan and Iraq. Do you know the common thing all these toilets shared ?

        💯! We never think even one step ahead, let alone more. Which explains why we let an opportunity go in the 90s and let a potential ally – Russia – revert to being almost as hostile to us today as the Soviet Union used to be under Leonid Brezhnev

        Same thing – we needlessly made an enemy of Serbia, and while relations may be good today, most Serbs are sympathetic and supportive of Russia. Thankfully, Kosovo hasn’t turned out to be as hostile to us as Kuwait, but that’s not saying much. As for Afghanistan and Iraq, the less said, the better

        One more thing: we never adjust our policies once ground realities change, as shown by the example w/ Russia above. Not only did we not change the policies towards Moscow: Turkey remained a part of NATO, even after Erdogan came to power. Previously, Turkey was at least a frontier w/ the Soviet Union, but today, it has its own geopolitical ambitions that have nothing in common w/ NATO (unless NATO has it somewhere in its charter unbeknownst to us that it wants to revive the glory of the Turkish race from Istanbul to Almaty). And now, we’re making similar mistakes wrt Qatar

    • I don’t think the elites understand the nature of the enemy they are dealing with, which is Islam and its Quran teachings – the origin of the evil. Now they removed the only two dictators that kept a lid on it and wonder why they are being flooded and swarmed by millions of illegal Muslim migrant trojan horses and their non-Muslim citizens used for bombing and target practice.

      Western countries and other non-Muslim nations still don’t get it, but deliberately welcome, facilitate, import, accommodate, adopt, honor and protect the illegal Muslim invasion – then wonder why even Christmas shopping has become unsafe. The sad fact is that the majority of the sheeple don’t get it either, and keep electing the same people who activate and energize the Islamization of their countries.

      The hard fact at this stage of events is that Islam must be outlawed and its Muslim believers expelled and deported as Spain did some centuries ago. Hopefully, that would avoid the devastation of a full-blown civil war similar to what India experienced.

  7. Gaza should not be rebuilt. At least not for the benefit of the “Palestinians”. This most demonic of non-peoples, invented by the Soviet Union and raised on a mythology that had the murder of Jews as one’s highest achievement don’t deserve be gifted new homes on the land they have squatted on.
    It makes me sick to hear people whine about how much they also care about the poor “Palestinians”, and how they also mourn for the “innocent Palestinians” who have died. I’m fed up with nonsense about how the “Palestinians” “deserve” better than Hamas.
    The redeemed Hostages have told us just how innocent those “Palestinians” are. Regular Gazans served as their jailers and slave masters who beat them, raped them, young innocent teenage girls used as sec slaves. They starved and tortured them. Thousands of these perverse, atavistic corruptions of humanity swarmed through the torn down border fences to specifically murder, rape and loot the very Jews who had shown them kindness. Hamas and the “Palestinians” are one and the same. If there are any innocents there, I would be surprised. In Nazi Germany there even were those righteous Gentiles that risked their lives to save Jews, their memory is honored at Yad YaShem. In Gaza as the Hostages have noted not one, not one “innocent Palestinian” attempted to assist them. When a hostage escaped he was captured by “innocent Palestinians”.
    This cohort of evil only deserves to be deported from Gaza permanently and to be distributed among the some 57 Muslim countries in the world. They support them so much let them have them. As they are the spirit of Amalek they actually truly deserve much worse but they are only the spirit so deportment should be their reward.

Moreover, Israel should have never left Gaza in the first place back in 2005 and should have annexed the so-called West Bank after the 67 War (and with expulsion of certain populations if necessary just as the Czechs did after WWII with Germans in the Sudetenland). I’m also dubious about Israel agreeing to the Camp David Accords since keeping the Sinai would have expanded Israel from a small state to a medium size state. What? The way it is now is better? I don’t think so.

      • I also think Israel should have demolished the al Aqsa mosque in 1967 when it was done trouncing the Egyptians and the Jordanians, since the jihadist forces were at their weakest. And then either rebuilt a temple, or some other pilgrimage site for Jews. That way, they would have avoided the farcical situation that they have today, when Jews can’t even mouth prayers or pray silently at the Western Wall

    • Agree. The last time funds where pouring into Gaza to rebuild and improve the lot of the squatters resulted in 4 “Palestinian” billionaires. The people got Quran and tunnels. The people there would improve their lives greatly if they moved to one of the numerous wealthy Arab Muslim states.

  9. The entire state of Israel should be conquered by the Israelis. Isn’t that what Islam has done around the world – and calls it acceptable? Yes! There shouldn’t be Muslims in Judea and Samaria – nor in any place in Israel proper!

    They need to go to one of the 57 nations that the OIC claims they have! Who else is sick of these terror bullies? Are we all – but afraid to say it!? I’m not!

They are friends to one another. And whoever among you takes them as friends, so surely he is of them. Surely Allah does not guide the unjust people.” Islam and its Muslims are a Muslim Terrorist Organization(MTO).

    Allah commands Muslims to conquer and subjugate every territory for Islam using every tool available with their MONEY and with their LIVES wielding the power of the Government or the State. Hence, Islam and Muslim actions should be legally challenged with a multi-faceted force of Western Laws like Muslims wield against Westerners via Governments, Tax Exempt Organizations, the Media and Hollywood, Foreign Funding, etc. because Islam violates and is incompatible with Western Laws(Qur’an 8:60; 9:5,29, 111; 47:4; 49:15; 65:4 etc.).

    Allah describes Muslim women in Jenna, Allah’s Paradise, as whores of Allah in Qur’an 56:37. Also, Allah stirs hatred against Christians until the resurrection day when Qur’an 5:14 instructs, “And some of those who say, ‘Surely we are Nasara (Christians),’ we took their covenant. So they have forgotten a part of what they were reminded of, so we have stirred up ENMITY and HATRED among them until the resurrection day.     Islam must be banned as illegal, and we have the legal right to defend ourselves from Muslim violence. Allah in Qur’an 9:29 commands, “Engage in war with those who do not believe in Allah nor in the last day. Nor forbid what Allah and his messenger forbid, nor believe in the religion of the truth among those who have given the book until they pay the jizyah out of hand and they are subdued.”

    Muslims are supremacist terrorists for Allah with their MONEY and with their LIVES while undermining a society from within using the man-made book of lies and deceit, the Qur’an. Allah in Qur’an 49:15 says, “Surely the believers[Muslims] are only those who believed in Allah and his messenger. They do not doubt, and they performed jihad with their MONEY and their LIVES for the sake of Allah. Those are the truthful.” Allah in Qur’an 4:101 says, “…Surely the infidels(Non-Muslims) were your clear enemies.”
    MUSLIM BELIEVERS are a greater TERROR than Allah. Allah in Qur’an 59:13 says, “You[Muslims] are a greater terror in their chests than Allah. This is because they[Jews & Christians] are people who do not understand.” As a result, Non-Muslims are marked for death by Islam and its Muslims.

  13. I’ve come to the conclusion that all these so called elites think is related to MONEY. Qatar and Saudi Arabia have plenty of money to help them think is the problem. They dangle a carrot and these elites asses follow.

    You’ve repeatedly cited a single poll taken over a year ago. Things have changed. Recent poll data suggests that the Jewish Israeli population has moderated considerably since that poll was taken. But, of course, that wouldn’t fit the JW narrative nor provide red meat for the comments section

  15. It is a mistake to refer to Tucker Carlson as an antisemite. He is naive and blind to the consequences of war and the intent of Islam but he is not an antisemite.

    • Actually, he is. For instance, he used to claim that the only people he cares about are American citizens. However, when those nationwide demonstrations were taking place at Columbia and other places preventing Jewish Americans from attending classes, he was completely silent about them. If he genuinely cared about American citizens, he should have protested at the pro-Hamas demonstrators – many of them foreigners – intimidating American citizens. But since he couldn’t openly support them, he just stayed silent on the issue

  16. All Qatar would have to do to support Gaza would be to stop funding US Universities to the tune of 10s of Billions to support Islamic Propaganda,
    and re-direct the Cash to Gaza Development.

  17. I think Gaza look just fine the way it is for now. The only change that is urgent is to flatten anything left anywhere near standing.
    No need for whoever takes it from here to be in a rush. If you make it nice then, like the drug addled homeless, the Palis will just turn it back into a Jihadi Project shit hole. Because that what Palis were bred to do, build a Jihadi Base for Jihad. Don’t expect a hunting dog not to hunt. It’s their mission in life.

    The Palis meanwhile should be dispersed among their Arab, Egyptian et al brothers, cousins etc. for “humanitarian” reasons. Surely, they can’t be expected to live in that dangerous, unhealthy, rubble?

    If no one builds anything then the Palis will not be interested for long. If no one supples, Water. electricity, sewers, housing, air conditioning, heat, jobs, jihadi training camps fronting as mosques. jihadi training camps fronting as schools for the kids, hospitals and clinics that serve as dual purpose structures for
    weapons depots, U N money, aid and their own special “refugee” agency, etc. they’ll lose interest.

    Gaza remains what it always been, a Jihad Project, given over to the “Palestinians” who job it was to wipe out Israel. Like a Mafia Hit Man hired on a contract hit job. Palis were to do what the other Muslim countries couldn’t be seen doing. And, besides, losing all those wars to Israel, was the real Naqba!
    So embarrassing.

    What should not happen is any U.S taxpayer dollars and no U.S. troops.

    Maybe Qatar and Saudi Arabia could lead a drive at the U.N. to award Gaza to Israel.
    Israel should be awarded Gaza by the U.N.! You know, for the sake of Peace.🤣

    • I agree. The sooner Gaza is “rebuilt”, the sooner these arabs start attacking Israel again.

      This is not about a tiny sliver of land, it is about koranic mandate, jihad, and Jew hatred mandated in the koran.

      Living in the destruction and squalor of their own making might teach them a lesson.
