After President Donald Trump ordered Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent to determine whether Muslim Brotherhood chapters in certain countries should be designated as foreign terrorist organizations, Congress went a step further, and is now moving forward on legislation that would designate the Muslim Brotherhood everywhere as a terrorist organization. The US House Foreign Affairs Committee on Wednesday advanced legislation to designate the entire Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist organization, continuing a bipartisan push in Washington to combat the global Islamist network.
Members of the committee voted to approve the bill on a bipartisan basis, with every Republican and several Democrats supporting the measure just over a week after US President Donald Trump signed an executive order directing his administration to determine whether to designate certain chapters of the Muslim Brotherhood as foreign terrorist organizations and specially designated global terrorists.
Notably, the legislation would require the US government to proscribe the Islamist network globally, while Trump’s order more narrowly directs Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent to submit a report “on whether to designate any Muslim Brotherhood chapters, such as those in Lebanon, Egypt, and Jordan.”
The legislation considered on Wednesday was spearheaded by Reps. Mario Diaz-Balart (R-FL) and Jared Moskowitz (D-FL).
“I am pleased that my bill to designate the entire Muslim Brotherhood globally as a terrorist organization has been approved by the full committee. This is a step in the right direction and further amplifies other efforts, like those of President Trump, to take decisive action against this insidious threat,” Diaz-Balart said in a statement.
“I thank Chairman [Rep. Brian Mast] for his leadership and the committee for advancing this bill to protect US national security interests and Americans by prohibiting US dollars from enabling the Muslim Brotherhood’s dangerous and pernicious activities while ensuring that MB members are blocked from entering the United States,” he continued.
Moskowitz similarly praised the committee for advancing the bill to a broader debate by the full House of Representatives.
“For decades, the Brotherhood has been tied to extremism and instability across the Middle East and around the world,” he said in a statement. “Other nations have already taken steps to investigate the Brotherhood and its affiliates, and the United States must have the authority to do the same.”…
A recent report by the Institute for the Study of Global Antisemitism and Policy (ISGAP) found that Qatar has funneled roughly $20 billion into American schools and universities over five decades as part of a coordinated, 100-year project to embed Muslim Brotherhood ideologies in the US.
The 200-page report, unveiled in Washington, DC to members of Congress, chronicles a 50-year effort by Brotherhood-linked groups to embed themselves in American academia, civil society, and government agencies, exposing what ISGAP calls the Brotherhood’s “civilization jihad” strategy, while maintaining an agenda fundamentally at odds with liberal democratic values.
Both the House and Senate versions of the legislation to designate the Muslim Brotherhood worldwide as a terrorist organization will certainly pass, with only a few Democrats withholding support. Then what will be needed is for Congress to establish the link between the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) and the Muslim Brotherhood. CAIR was an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation terrorism financing trial. It has been outlawed in the United Arab Emirates as a “terrorist organization.” In November, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott officially designated the Muslim Brotherhood and CAIR as state-level “Foreign Terrorist and Transnational Criminal Organizations.” A Congressional vote can extend that designation across the country if CAIR’s links to the Muslim Brotherhood can be shown. That shouldn’t be hard to do.

Two of the reasons why the Muslim Brotherhood a threat to America is the one fact alone that the MB has close firm and strong connections with Hamas, exposes it for what it really is.
Second, Americans need to and should be aware of those stealth jihad- minded Muslims who are living in the United States, as those members of the Muslim Brotherhood, and attempt to have Sharia law enacted in this country. Those facts that this is the United States, and has something that is far better than Sharia law. It’s the US Constitution. This is America, not Saudi Arabia or Iran.

“Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton filed a lawsuit to prevent plans for a Muslim community in the state from advancing.
Over the weekend, Paxton announced he is suing East Plano Islamic Center, known as EPIC City, and those spearheading the project, marking Republicans’ latest efforts to thwart what they believe to be a development that could push Sharia law on Texans.
The lawsuit centers on claims that the project violates securities laws, specifically under the Texas Securities Act. It follows the state GOP’s persistent attempts to block the Muslim development this year, though the Justice Department struck a blow to the effort over the summer by declining to press charges.
“The leaders behind EPIC City have engaged in a radical plot to destroy hundreds of acres of beautiful Texas land and line their own pockets,” Paxton said in a statement last Friday.
“I will relentlessly bring the full force of the law against anyone who thinks they can ignore the rules and hurt Texans. The unlawful land project known as EPIC City will be stopped, and those responsible will be barred from ever creating another fraudulent operation like this again,” he continued.
The attorney general claimed “certain promotional materials” for EPIC City implied that the project would be unlawfully reserved for Muslims, in violation of discrimination laws. In a press release, Paxton further alleged the developers have funneled a significant amount of funding for the project into their own pockets, “despite promising not to,” writing that for more than 10% of those who purchased securities, Community Capital Partners illegally failed to verify their status as “accredited investors.”
The latest action from the attorney general’s office comes after Texas officials have prioritized efforts to block EPIC City, a proposed North Texas community that would span approximately 400 acres and include more than 1,000 homes, a K-12 faith-based school, a mosque, retail shops, and more.
Republicans have raised concerns that the new city could promote Sharia law, the Islamist legal system that imposes harsh penalties on those who do not follow Muslim teachings, including targeting gay people and fining or arresting women who choose not to wear a hijab or wear it loosely.
Gov. Greg Abbott (R-TX) launched several investigations into the city in recent months, citing allegations that it could discriminate against non-Muslims in violation of the Texas Fair Housing Act, pose violations
In August and September, the governor signed several bills targeting the development that would ban so-called Sharia compounds. They would also tighten restrictions on land ownership by foreign or criminally affiliated entities, including the Council for American Islamic Relations, known as CAIR, which holds a Dallas-Fort Worth office that has condemned Abbott’s investigations into EPIC City.
The governor signed the bills into law after the Justice Department closed an investigation into the city in June without filing charges challenging the development.
The DOJ opened the investigation at the request of Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX), who expressed concern the Islamic community violated laws prohibiting religious discrimination and could hold consequences for non-Muslims.
“We welcome the dropping of this investigation and hope the DOJ’s actions send a clear message to the governor and other officials in Texas that they should similarly drop their Islamophobic witch hunt targeting Muslims in that state,” CAIR National Executive Director Nihad Awad told the Associated Press in response to the DOJ dropping the inquiry.
Abbott’s office pledged to continue targeting the city.
“Texas will continue to defend our communities from any threats posed by EPIC City or other entities seeking to create a discriminatory or illegal compound, and we will continue to monitor this proposed development for compliance with all Texas laws,” a spokesperson for the governor said at the time. ”
